Just curious if anyone has an opinion, but I thinking of throwing 5 fictional tomato cans into each club section (except for heavyweight) just so the new guys have some more crappy fighters to face. I like the idea of beginners hitting the main section with high win %.
I don't think it is something I would do every year just when there aren't enough 1 rated fighters in the club ranks. Everytime I schedule a newbie, I schedule them against the lost rated fighter they haven't fought. Sometimes that means a 3 rated newbie is fighting a 4 or higher rated guy. This would be different then the guys I create, because most of the ones I am creating (while not based on any testing or informed opinion) are rated between 2-6. In my area that is similar to your Club Fighters group in my universe I have 10 fictional Tomato Cans (created using the TC Templates by Pierre) per twenty fighters in the group. It helps, particularly with the beginning fighters, as it helps grade out the careers of the fighters a bit more.
In my universe the fighters start out in a Beginners group who will fight the first bouts of their career against these fixtional TCs. Once they have more than 5 wins they have a percentage chance of "graduating" to the main group of fighters (% chance equals (Wins - 5) * 10). So in short I think it would be a fine idea to through in fictional Tomato Cans into the mix. If your worried about the names, traul through Boxrec for the names of real punching bags of the day (scarily there really are lots of 0-3 boxers in the boxrec database). Hope that rambling helps, Mark |

Thanks Mark ... I was pretty sure I was doing it but your reassurance seals it. I have basically the same thing going on. They can move up to the main division when they finish the year pre-prime. They go pre-prime if the have 4 wins in 5 fights or after their 7th fight. If they end the year 4-0 they stay in club for another year.
They also have a higher % of fighting until they go prime. So some guys go to the main division with records of 8-0 or 9-0. Dumping some fictional tomato cans into the mix will help the 2 and 3 rated guys build up a record before getting stomped by the main division. |

Okay I added 5 tc's to every weight class except Heavyweights ... thanks to the makers of the tc files on cornerwork ...
year 1906 ready to begin with a total of 365 fighters in my universe .... FW and BW are the only two divisions still with not enough fighters to split up the championships. So there will be 4 new LBC champions. |
