The Philadelphia Athletic Club finally did something with the PP they've accumulated and grabbed three gold cards (Barry Bonds, Yogi Berra, and Pedro Bourbon) off the market to help with some weaknesses.

I normally just buy packs once I hit 1000 PP with my other team but I'm trying to be a bit more deliberate with the Athletics. I've found I've been a bit paralysed with indecision when it comes to the auction house so it was nice to pull the trigger on some buys. Bonds will be full-time in Left Field, Berra will platoon with Tony Pena as Catcher, and Bourbon will take on a setup role in the bullpen.

Hopefully this trio provides the difference I need to get to take out this division. I'm 79-49 and my opponent is 79-50.

Yogi Berra kicked off his time with us with 2 home runs.

New team! People around the Bronze level please add Argonaut72 to your lists. Right now the team is the Bronze Argonauts, but they will be re-branded on Monday. I've gone as far as I can get with just Bronze cards. OL compliant both now and on Monday.

All of my teams and levels are in my signature, and they will be at the same level next year aside from an outside chance of the Cowboys reaching Perfect.

Went shopping this morning with the points I've hoarded so my new team the Knights is fully OL compliant. I have added everyone in the previous posts along with irons and bronzes from the San Pedro friends list.

Just a suggestion, but I fill my Friends List by adding all the teams at my level as well one above and one below. I know it's a little cumbersome to manage, but please make the effort. If we all pull together, we can take over a complete level (or two) one of these weeks.

The Puppie "slipped" to 6-4 yesterday and are still in charge, but with a very busy OL schedule on tap for September, they can be overtaken. Palolo itself has 14 left to play, Shasta, 13, New York, 12, Wheatland, 10, Annandale, 9, and Terra Incgonita , 9. The hottest teams yesterday were the Jets, 5-1, the Atom Smashers, 6-2, and the Black Bears, 10-6.

As far as the PT playoffs go, Annandale leads by 8 1/2 in the AC East. Sanguine is 2 1/2, and New York 5, behind in the AC wild card race.

In the NC, Palolo is up 16 1/2 in the East, Terra Incognita is up 2 in the Central. Harlem, 1 1/2 back, Shasta, 2 back, and Asylum, 4 1/2 back, are still in the wild card hunt.

Arkham continues riding high, Mudville and New Zealand battle for second place.

Arkham has 9 OL games remaining, 6 vs New Zealand
Mudville has 11 OL games left
New Zealand has 13 OL games left

Arkham has played well all year but Mudville and New Zealand both have a chance to take over first place. A lot of what happens depends on the six games between Arkham and New Zealand this month.

In non-OL news:

Melaka will easily win the AC East, they've packed their playoff bags
San Pedro has an outside chance at an AC wild card spot
Philadelphia and Fancher Creek are battling for the NC East crown. Philadelphia currently has a small lead
Mudville leads the NC Central by 1.5 games
Arkham has all but clinched the NC West, they've printed the playoff tickets
Whichever team doesn't win the NC East will be a NC wild card
New Zealand has an outside shot at an NC wild card spot

Playoff results will determine promotion to bronze. Nobody gets relegated in Iron.

Daytona Beach is currently the 2nd AC Wild Card team
Redmond leads the NC East
Asheboro leads the NC West

None of the leads are large, so the teams will have to continue to play well to make the playoffs.

Playoffs will determine promotion. Barring a late-season collapse, no team will get relegated.
