Most realistic/conforming simulation options?
Hi! I just got the game recently, and here's a question:
I want to run a replay simulation that conforms nearly (key word: nearly) exactly to the season that was played, only with slightly different narratives. I realize some might find this perverse, but my favorite thing so far has been loading the 1994 season and playing it out from there, because it was basically an extension of that year. For instance, I'd love it if there were some ways that injuries could follow exactly the narrative of the 1982 season. In the one I played, Robin Yount got hurt early in the season, which created some interesting scenarios, but I was mostly interested in seeing a precise replay with only slight variations of the 1982 AL East pennant race (with no Yount, the O's won easily). Like I said, I'm weird. I've double-weighted the season (or whatever it's called), but is there a template that can help me? Or some features I should check. The game is so (delightfully) overwhelming that I'm still learning, so I'd appreciate the advice. Apologies if this is a common topic, please send me to the correct place if need be! |

Using actual lineups is an option that may help accomplish what you're looking for. However, it introduces other oddities like game-day rosters of (as an example) 36 players, which - depending upon your perspective - counters (and then some) any realism you've gained from selecting the option.
I offer this from the perspective of never having used the option, as it just seems to weird to me... At any rate, you might want to try asking about more-specific scenarios & what you're looking for. Long-time historical players might then be able to offer some suggestions. Good luck!
