I took over the Tigers (I figured why not, it worked in SO49), and was told not to finish last...which I did. By about 12 games. So, I got fired. To top it off, Katie wouldn't marry me...so I left her and signed on to be the Phillies skipper. Now hear's the funny part...the Phil were in the World Series last year! Some idiot in the City of Brotherly Love decided to hire a young, inexperienced manager who won about 40 games the year before! So....I took the job! Suckers...
We'll see how it goes.... |

I am in my third year , the first I made the playoffs...lost 4 games to one...then I had an awful season.....67-95....thought I was about to get the axe...but didn't....
Then my wife divorced me!!!! I have a new girlfriend.... My son has excellent baseball skills I think I need to be .500 this year or I am done.. My current record is 31-31....Third season I have alot of young talent coming up...2 youngsters are saving me right now..... I need an ace pitcher!!!!

you don't even know the gender of your kid. I'd start preparing for the divorce proceedings

Divorced and fired in the span of 2 seasons. 31 years and 3058 wins later, Scituate canned me. On the bright side, I was able to latch on to the team that features my sons, who are stars at only 28 and 25 years of age. We shall see how this goes. Having some difficulties finding a new lady. Maybe Raffie Palmiero can hook me up with some Viagra in my increasing age

I'm starting year 5 of my fictional league with the Scranton Red Barrons. Drafted my team to win now. Expectations ran high as my owner expectations were to make the post season. Lucky for me I have a patient owner as injuries and over evaluated talent lead me to last place and a 69-93 win. The very kind owner brought me back for a year with expectations to play .500 ball. More injuries and rapidly declining veterans lead to even a worse season 65-97. Epecting to be packing my bags the owner (must be crazy) brought me back for year 3 with the expectations just "don't finish in last". With some younger guys coming up to be key role players along with some key free agent signings lead to an 84-78 which was good enough to win a very bad division. Drew the eventual world champs Honolulu in the first round and was swept in 3 games. This earned me two year extension this time and again the only expectations were to not finish laugh. Another year another very weak division. Built an 8 game lead bu the break only to loose my all star 3rd basemen for 8 weeks. THe team went on a rapid decline and by the middle of September trailed by 3 games. A strong 2 weeks followed and despite finishing under 500 managed to win my division again. Once again met up with Honolulu in the playoffs and once again was swept. Getting ready for the final year of this contract with some of my younger stars ready to step up and play bigger roles. Once again my very patient owner only requires I don't finish in last. I am married with 4 kids two girls one boy age 9 with rather good baseball skills and one son who is only 1. I hope to make it three straight division titles but we shall see what happens.

Doesn't look like I will last more than a season.
The Reds' owner wants a .500 season, I'm 19-26, and my team has trouble hitting any pitcher who doesn't play for Milwaukee |

I created a fictional league based on teams from the NHL. 24 teams; 2 leagues with 3 divisions of 4 teams. I took on the Red Wings in the inaugural season. I was expected to play better than .500 ball. After being in/hovering around first place in my division (the Campbell League Norris Division) my team completely feel apart in the last two months of the season and I finished 10 games under .500. I haven't pushed the "Proceed to next season" button yet but I fear I'm about to be s$#tcanned. Add that to the fact that I got dumped twice this season and it's not been a good year for the digital version of myself.

I purchased the game about a week ago, and took a job with the A's. Finished 3rh in 2003, 2nd in 2004, 1st in 2005 through 2008, and won it all in 2005 and 2008. A side note in 2008, I went 122-40, and had a 24 game winning streak.
If you let me know how to post the screen shots in these messages, I will post the screenshots. |
