Historical Player Development
I am new to OOTP after many years of Strat-o-Matic. I enjoy bringing a historical player into a different era and seeing his impact on the team. I have imported Stan Musial to the 1976 Cardinals and played through 1986. While he has performed very well, he has essentially been the same player each year. He has not developed power as he did in real life. Also, he retires at the end of every year and I have to unretire and resign him. Is there a setting that will allow him to progress relatively close to his historical performance?
Thanks! |

You should try Random Debut. In a non historical league historical players will develop differently then they did IRL. I import many historical players every year and then clone them and then rename them. Markus Heinsohn as a clone of Greg Maddux barely won over 100 games before retiring. A clone of Shoeless Joe Jackson is a .388 lifetime hitter in 7 seasons. In historical leagues it depends on the settings you have.
