Ootp 20

Not much hype this year about OOTP 20. Nobody seems to be excited about it. Past years would have been in full hype by now.

No one is excited? Are you sure about that? Excited doesn't even begin to describe my current state concerning OOTP 20's impending release.

I'm stoked, pumped, geeked and electrified. I'm euphoric, rapturous, ecstatic and jubilant. I'm on top of the world, over the moon, and on cloud nine. I'm happy as a clam, like a dog with two tails, and going ape.

Pfft!

I don't get hype until I see a steam store page for a game

I am excited but I'm also not on board with the Perfect Team is great for the game mantra that is in the ether right now, either.

I'm with Mr. Socks. Perfect Team is one long snooze and currently seems to be about the only thing the OOTP designers are talking about.

Going from a primarily CEO-groupie focus within the game to becoming the best historical sports sim ever was a stroke of genius. Going from that to a fantasy baseball apparatus is just plain dumb.

If you read through the stickied OOTP 20 update you'll see that there are two entirely separate development teams. One working on the main game and one on PT. So don't worry about the main game not being focused on.

Ha, that was a good laugh. Perfect Team has nothing at all to do with fantasy baseball. Have you even tried it? Thousands of people love it (in fact, there are now over 12,000 teams in 400+ leagues) and have tons of fun playing it, wether they decide to spend some money in it or not. It's great for the users and great for the company. And we can invest the extra revenue into the development of the game as a whole. Everybody wins, simple as that.

We have not announced the game officially yet, so there's not much to be hyped about yet.

I and several people here would happily play OOTP 20 right now if Markus would let us! Just a much later official announcement of OOTP 20 then we are all use to and we will get some info this week.

I too have my doubts about the standard game vs Perfect Team support and once I see what OOTP 20 is all about hopefully I'll have a better idea. While i'm probably going to get the game regardless, i am a little less excited than the past because I had an up and down experience with 19, and all the "hype" about perfect team, which i will never touch doesnt help. I get that its two different development teams, but all I see about OOTP is Perfect Team. I'm going to give OOTPD the benefit of the doubt, but let's just say I have big expectations now for the offline game
