Wow, I've been outside painting the house all day so far. It sure is nice to come in and check the score and see that 9-spot in the first inning. w00t!

Yeah, I just noticed on of those was a DJ grand slam. If he can get some playing time and kick some ass, he just might force his way onto the postseason roster.

That was the lamest inside-the-park home run I've ever seen. The A's were playing it like they didn't care.

Jay Payton could bat .600 for a full season and I think I'd still hate him.

This is a really annoying game. Zito is walking lots of guys, Payton can't field, and the A's hitters can't stop popping the ****ing ball up.

WTF is Kendall doing striking out on a pitch like that? He NEVER does that. He should have gotten hit by that pitch.

I'm quoting this because he just hit a 3-run homer. I'm turning off the game now.

LOB don't mean anything really. The more guys you get on base, the more you'll leave on base. The A's haven't been good w/RISP this year anyway. All 12 LOB means it they're getting more guys on base.

I consider that a good thing.

Your favorite guy rips into the fans:

Quote:
A's left fielder Jay Payton, too, is a former Padre, and Monday certainly won't be on his career highlight reel. His diving attempt to snag Cruz's sinking liner in the second led to the inside-the-parker; his losing battle with the sun in the fourth went for a double by Gerald Laird, who scored on a two-out single by Cruz; and Young tripled off Payton's glove at the wall in the sixth, three batters before Cruz crushed a three-run homer to right that was very much outside the park.

The crowd booed the outfielder after Young's triple, and he still seemed peeved about it after the game.

"The first one cut on me, the second one got caught in the sun and the third one was a missle off the wall, but people want to boo me," Payton said with disdain. "All I do is bust my butt, but you have a bad day and a bunch of dumb people want to boo you. ... I thought it stunk."

Oh, and in other news, the A's claimed Jerome Williams off waivers from the Cubs today. I don't have a link, but it happened.

I remember him. Ex-SF Giant who was supposed to be good and then was traded for LaTroy Hawkins. Maybe some added depth/insurance for next year.

You're not the only one who lost faith. It kinda reminds me of one of the years Cory Lidle had with us.
