Maybe Beane can find a way to bring Tejada back this offseason.

The Angels lost and are now 6 back. Let's add a .5 to that with a win tonight, homies.

I pretty much feel the same way about Sauerbeck as a pitcher that I do about Scutaro as a hitter.

Well, that sucked. At least we keep the 5.5 game lead.

1. Loaiza has completely turned around his season, and I've never been happier to be proven wrong. I thought he was going to keep pitching like a POS.
2. Frank Thomas is good. 3. Swisher, too. 4. Not only was it great seeing Thomas and Swish homer in the same inning, it was double extra super great that they homered off Foulke!

6.5 is so close I can taste it...
I heart Loaiza, Thomas, Swisher, and Bradley. I even heart Kendall. I heart Chavvy despite his crappy hitting. Hey look, there's Joe Kennedy! I heart him too! |

I'm happy about the win and the Halos loss, so I'm not going to mention how absolutely idiotic Macha is for using Kennedy and Gaudin instead of keeping them fresh and letting Witasuck/Sauerkraut pitch again today with a 9 run lead. Of course we'll probably win 9-0 again tomorrow and not need Gaudin or Kennedy anyways.

Seems like he uses Gaudin too much in mopup/blowout situations. Dude has a 2.74 ERA. I don't know why Macha doesn't trust him but hands Sauerkraut the ball with the game on the line.

Probably the same reason he put Yabu in against Manny with the bases loaded in the 10th last year and left Huston Street on the bench. *shrug*

For comparison, Haren has walked 38 in 187.1 IP. Loaiza, who has been awful until a little over a month ago, has walked 35 in 117.2 IP. Gaudin has been alright, but I don't trust him in close situations just yet. |

I'm also not too worried about Gaudin getting overworked. He's been a starter in the past. August also happens to be his least-worked month, aside from April (and he didn't spend the entire month with the team). As for Kennedy, he's also a guy who can carry a heavier load. And in reality, he hasn't. He's pitched twice in the last week, including last night. Gaudin and Kennedy are two guys who definitely have a spot on a playoff roster. Witasick and Sauerbeck are not. I'd much rather see Kennedy and Gaudin kept fresh at this point over getting Jay Witasick an inning. |
