GM Notes:
How do I know we aren't "ready" for the playoffs? Well because we lose 2 of 3 to a team that is 46-103. Yikes! If we want to be a 'top' team we can't lose like that, those are the games we should win and win easily... and to top that off, we lost 2 of them we our #1 and #2 pitchers.

Hank Davis is having a good month, to say the least. He has now played in 71 games for the Cannons and 71 for the Sixteens. He has put together a better 71 in Chadds Ford hitting 14 HR's, 17 2B's and driving in 52 (10 more than he had with the Sixteens).
In Georgtowon: .239-15-42, 9 2B (70-293)
In Chadds Ford: .235-14-52, 17 2B (67-285)

This week will be the deciding week if we are players or pretenders. Yes 2-paragraphs ago I said we aren't "ready" for the playoffs, but this week could change my mind. Why? Well we play 3-games against the Millers. If we can sweep them we could in essence gain 3-games and move within striking distance. Honestly, I don't see it happening, but I am not going to write us off until after this week.

We 13-games to go and we could actually hit .500!! That would be a huge step in our progress to the playoffs. If we hit .500 this year I would hope we would be able to contend next year... yes changes will need to be made, but it is a start.

Looking over my team I am a little nervous regarding budget, arbitration and next season. I will have to make some big moves, that a few players and fans might not like. I am working on a nice long to-do list... one person I am excited about is Donald Hampton. I have been quite impressed by his bat and his 21 bombs. He isn't that great behind the plate, but wow his bat is good... at this point better than I had expected.

Hampton's fielding has been better than expected in 84 games he has posted a .991 PCT, +0.6 ZR, and has gunned down 23 runners (only 28% however)... but at 25 he should be my catcher for some time... which means: Patrick McGee, Alton Howard, and David Cornett will have to battle for back-up slot.

We may not make the playoffs this season, but I am starting to enjoy this team more.

Standings Leaders
DE Colonial: Milford Clippers: 102-47 (+30.0, Clinched)
DE Northern: Newark Millers: 81-68 (+7.0, M#7)
DE Atlantic: Lewes Braves: 96-53 (+6.0, M#8)
WC: Milton Brewers (DCA): 90-59 (+16.0, Clinched)

DC: The Brewers and Braves are both in the playoffs, so the only open slot now is the Northern Division, which the Millers are trying to hold off the Cannons.

MV Beltway: Annapolis Admirals: 91-58 (+6.0, M#8)
MV Mountain: Richmond Cardinals: 91-58 (+19.0, Clinched)
MV Coastal: Norfolk Cavaliers: 97-52 (+16.0, Clinched)
WC: Washington Senators (MCB): 85-64 (+4.0, M#10)

MC: The MC has some battles going on. The Admirals and the Senators are going to battle on the Beltway, while the Senators are going to try to hold off the Tourists in the Wild Card. The Senators are in the best slot, but with 2 weeks to go anything can happen.

Players of the Week:
Delaware: Hank Davis, Chadds Ford Cannons: 10-26, 4 HR's, 10 RBI's
MarVa: Danny Ware, Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs: 11-25, 3 HR's, 10 RBI's

Power Rankings:
1) Milford Clippers (138.2)
2) Lewes Braves (126.0)
3) Norfolk Cavaliers (125.2)
4) Milton Brewers (111.7)
5) Annapolis Admirals (110.9)

News:
Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs: The Dawgs will be without MR Kevin Seal for the rest of the season. Seal pitched in 15-games, posting a 0-1 record with a 3.65 ERA, including a save.
Martinsburg Mountaineers: 1B Paul Meyers was red-hot during an 8-1 victory over the Blue Crabs, collecting 5-hits, and driving in and scoring 2.
Milford Clippers: SS Shunen Koyama collected hit #2000 of his career.

Milestones:
Julio Rocha is 1 W from 200

GM Notes:
This is pretty crazy. We are 3 games out with 7 days to go. I don't think we will make the playoffs, but finishing over .500 is a real possibility! Right now that is what I am excited about. We choked last week losing 2 of 3 to the Beacons. That could be the difference between us celebrating and going home, but we are getting closer... The problem about being this close? Well it makes dealing Sanchez, Oulton and Villalobos during the off season...

My first ever #1 pick in Chadds Ford was Dragoljub "The Dragon" Karadzic. He isn't going to be "star" I thought he was going to be the star I was expecting him to be, but he will be a handy defensive back-up for my infielders. Karadzic started 54 games this season, playing in 57. He is hitting .277-8-33. I really thought he was going to be a star, but I am pleased he will be a viable big leaguer for a few years to come.

One more week, seven more games and then the season is over and we celebrate the best season ever in Chadds Ford. That is something to be proud of. That being said one of Corbin's (the owner) long term goal was for us to be in the playoffs by 2034... well we are going to be close, but most likely not making. So I am not sure if that means my job will be in jeopardy or not. I guess we will see.

I am hoping for 2 more years in Chadds Ford. I believe in 2 years we can actually pull off a playoff birth. Obviously the end goal will be to win it all, but for now I will take a playoff birth. If we can get the attendance up 10K then we can actually get some budget dollars and make something of this team... I just have to hope Corbin keeps me around.

This off-season will be different than most of our others. We actually should have trading blocks, playeres that are worth something in a deal! Sanchez, Outlon, Villalobos! Cut big salary, make our team better. The one thing I am not positive about is, if we can do it with a bunch of minimum salary players... I guess we will find out if Mike Quinn, Tony Cox, Eric Harmon and Tadasuke Uenohara are up to the task.

Now lets just finish this season up on a hot note!

Standings Leaders
DE Colonial: Milford Clippers: 107-48 (+33.0, Clinched)
DE Northern: Newark Millers: 82-73 (+3.0, M#5)
DE Atlantic: Lewes Braves: 100-55 (+7.0, M#1)
WC: Milton Brewers (DCA): 93-62 (+14.0, Clinched)

DC: The Millers are battling the Cannons, who just swept them last week, for the final playoff slot. Both teams finish the season against divisional rivals the Blue Hens and the Iron Pigs. The spot is the Millers to lose, but they have continued to collapse as the season has gone on: July: 10-15, August: 11-17, September: 8-14... They have a 88.9% change to keep the Cannons at bay.

MV Beltway: Annapolis Admirals: 95-60 (+7.0, M#1, clinched playoff birth)
MV Mountain: Richmond Cardinals: 91-58 (+19.0, Clinched)
MV Coastal: Norfolk Cavaliers: 97-52 (+16.0, Clinched)
WC: Washington Senators (MCB): 88-67 (+5.0, M#3)

MC: The races in the MC are just about done. The Senators play the Admirals three 3 times then finish the season off against the woeful Ports, while hte Tourists go up against the Cavaliers and the Surf Dawgs. And the Barons are trying to hold on take on the Ports and Admirals. The Senators have a 99.2% chance to bring the playoffs home.

Players of the Week:
Delaware: Shawn Wilson, Milford Clippers: 10-23, 3 HR's, 5 RBI's
MarVa: Ray Nikkola, Salisbury Ports: 12-19, 4 HR's, 9 RBI's, 7 R's

Power Rankings:
1) Milford Clippers (136.3)
2) Norfolk Cavaliers (127.5)
3) Lewes Braves (125.1)
4) Milton Brewers (109.0)
5) Annapolis Admirals (108.3)

News:
Annapolis Admirals: Top rookie Allan Cameron had his season shut-down after breaking his hand. Cameron finishes his rookie season hitting .252-4-32.
Baltimore Barons: Will be without OF Rafael Estrada, their 20-year-old star for a few more days. Estrada is hitting .288-3-65 during his first full-season.
Salisbury Ports: Catcher Ray Nikkola slugged 3-HR's during a 14-8 win over the Admirals this week. The 28-year-old went 4-5, driving in 8 while scoring 3-times.

September 2034 - Players of the Month

Players of the Month - September 2034

Delaware Conference

Hernández Claims DE Conf Batter of the Month Award: Seasoned by several years of professional experience, 29-year-old Juan Hernández put together a solid offensive month for Milford and was crowned September's top batter in the Delaware Conference. He batted .291 with 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and 23 runs scored. This season Hernández is swinging the bat at a .314 rate with 132 hits in 421 at-bats. To date he has hit 43 home runs, scored 80 runs and driven in 109.

Delaware Conference #1 Hurler is González: Ricardo González's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in September, the 31-year-old Milford hurler has been named Delaware Conference Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 46 in 47.2 innings, logged an ERA of 1.51 and allowed opponents to hit .227 against him. This year González has compiled a 22-7 record with a 2.18 ERA in 34 starts.

DE Conf Names Rookie Star of the Month: Tadiyuki Kiyomizu had a fine September against Delaware Conference pitchers and was acclaimed the league's Rookie of the Month today. The Georgetown right fielder walloped the opposition with 31 hits, 6 home runs, 23 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He compiled a .320 average and .391 on-base percentage. This season Kiyomizu has delivered 163 hits in 513 at-bats for a .318 average with 25 home runs. He is getting on base at a .407 clip and his totals also include 99 RBIs and 74 runs scored. This year Kiyomizu has played in 136 games.

MarVa Conference

Red-Hot September Lands Miranda Batting Prize in MV Conf: Washington Senators fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in September. Manuel Miranda put up a remarkable month at the age of 25 and has been named the MarVa Conference Batter of the Month. For the month, Miranda hit .345 with 11 home runs, 26 RBIs and 22 runs scored. So far this season Miranda is hitting .317 with 51 home runs, 131 RBIs and 115 runs scored. He has 201 hits in 634 at-bats and a .370 OBP.

September's Best Hurler in MV Conf is Hernández: Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Joaquín Hernández still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in September. The 29-year-old starter for Norfolk was named MarVa Conference Pitcher of the Month earlier today. He collected 5 wins and 1 loss with 47 strikeouts in his 6 starts, putting up a fine 2.76 ERA in 45.2 innings of work. Up to now Hernández has compiled an ERA of 2.89 with a 19-5 mark over 34 starts. He has 241 strikeouts in 246.1 innings and has held opponents to a .228 batting average.

MarVa Conference Names Rookie of Month: Tyrone Jackson earned September's Rookie of the Month honors in the MarVa Conference for last month's performance. The boyish Martinsburg center fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level. Jackson hit .421 with 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 14 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award. This season Jackson is batting .421 with 24 hits, 7 home runs, 23 RBIs, .500 OBP and has scored 14 runs.

GM Notes:
Well our hopes for the playoffs went down REALLY fast as we got swept by the Iron Pigs. Not sure how that happened, but I am quite embarrassed by it... but on the bright side we finished the season over .500!! After 4 seasons under, the 5th one was the Charm. This is really exciting to us in Chadds Ford, at least to me it is. We were +6 over our expected record so we have a lot to take home from this season. Our last 3 months this season: 14-12, 15-12, and 16-12. Makes me see the bright side of things to come.

I was thinking about trading away Ruben Dano Dasmarinas, but I am not sure I will. Why? Well he finished the season on a 32 game, 26.1 inning scoreless steak, and has just been lights out. The last time he gave up a run was June 28th when he got roughed up for 2 of them. He finished the season red-hot and he might be my best reliever right now. His 5/7 Control (out of 20) really bothers me however.

Matt Douglas became our first .300 hitter, finishing the season at .303. John Denton became the single-season wins leader, winning 16. And Jonahtan Loeffler saved 35 to set the team season record... we have a lot of bright stars!

I honestly can't believe we finished with a .500 record and just 4-games out of the playoffs. It was quite an amazing run to end the season. The moves that were made bringing in Davis, Howard, Montes and calling up Hampton seemed to pay big dividends for this team. This turned out to be a fun season and I am excited to see what 2035 brings. Maybe we can chase down the Millers... times are getting exciting here in CF, this team keeps getting better.

Now it is time to sit back and focus on making this team better during the off-season. I will need to come up with some kind of game plan and review the players I have and the players I am going to lose. This should be one of the more fun off-seasons in Chadds Ford history... For the next 2-week as the playoffs happen I will be reviewing this team and coming up with an off-season game plan.

I am excited. I am going to do what I can to make 2035 "our" year...

News:
Wilmington Iron Pigs: SP Ramon Lopez is going to miss the next 8-9 months with a torn flexor-tendon in his elbow. Lopez went 7-15 4.76 in 30 starts for the Pigs this season.
Martinsburg Mountaineers: Number 1 draft pick this season, CF Tyrone Jackson will miss the final 3-games of the season with back soreness. Jackson, despite being the #1 pick, might be getting the "fragile" tag early on during his career. After 61 minor league games Jackson got the call in September and finished hitting .421-7-23. It looks like if he can stay healthy he has a bright future.
Newark Millers: Julian De Jesus ended the season with a day to remember going 5 for 6, despite his team losing 14-8 to the Iron Pigs.
Delaware Conference: OF Shawn Wilson, of the Milford Clippers, ended the season as the top hitter in the conference hitting .341, collecting 158 hits.
MarVa Conference: One of the top youngsters in the DBL, SS Ryan Hunt, of the King George Royals, ended the season with the top average in the DBL. Hunt hit .370 (.3698) during the season, the 6th best ever in the DBL, finishing with 206 hits.

Other Stuff:
For the draft I imported 3 players, Mike Trout (as Mikel Wallstreet), Jose Fernandez (as Scott Vanciny) and Mickey Mantle (as Tyrone Jackson). Now that that the season is over here is how these 3 of them performed:
Tyrone Jackson:, drafted #1 by the Martinsburg Mountaineers (Signing bonus, not announced)
SA: .392-17-39, 33 G, 47-120
A: .363-10-24, 28 G, 37-102
DBL: .421-7-23, 17 G, 24-57
Jackson ended the season on the DL, but based on his first 17-games it looks like he is going to have a bright future, as long as he can stay healthy. Jackson looks to be the starting CF in Martinsburg in 2035.

Mikel Wallstreet, drafted #5 by the King George Royals (signed for $10,450,000)
SA: .270-17-63, 87 G, 90-333
Wallstreet the youngest of all the players, at 18-years-old, had a decent first year. He should have a long career. It will be interesting to see where he starts off next season.

Scott Vanciny, drafted #9 by the Ocean City Tourists (signed for $8,800,000)
SA: 0-0 16.20, 1 G/GS, 1.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 3 K (2.40 WHIP)
AA: 2-0 0.00, 2 G/GS, 12.2 IP, 5 H, 3 BB, 14 K (0.63 WHIP)
DBL: 7-5 4.19, 14 G/GS, 92.1 IP, 97 H, 39 BB, 72 K (1.47 WHIP)
Vanciny skyrocketed through the minors and turned in a strong performance in Ocean City. Vanciny became the #2 starter in Ocean City and looks to be the ace to be heading in 2035. Vanciny might turn out to be one of the top pitchers ever in the DBL. Next season, a full season a the big-league level, should be quite interesting for Vanciny.

2034 Wild Card Results / News

2034 Wild Card Results:

Delaware Conference
Brewers Advance to Conference Championship: While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Milton Brewers showed themselves to be the superior team in the The Wild Card, downing the Milford Clippers 3-1. "Nothing is ever easy in the DELMARVA Baseball League playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Bob Short, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance. Milton won the final game by a 6-3 count at Ballpark of Milton to clinch its spot in the next round. They will hope to once again rely on Short there, as he hit .308 with 1 home runs, 4 RBI 4 runs scored during the series. The Milton Brewers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Newark Millers - Lewes Braves series. Lewes leads the series 2 game to 1. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the The Wild Card finishes.

The Wild Card Goes the Distance, Lewes Prevails: The Lewes Braves stormed onto the field at Braves Ballpark in celebration tonight after wrapping up the The Wild Card in an elimination game and knocking off the Newark Millers. Lewes moves on to the Conference Championship after a 5-4 win sealed the series 3-2. "It feels great to win and move on and it feels great to contribute to it," said Lewes starting pitcher Bud Jackson. Jackson certainly did more than contribute. He was named series MVP and had a 0.60 ERA over 15 innings pitched, with 10 strikeouts and a 2-0 record. "I guess I had a pretty good series," he said, smiling. "I hope to keep it going in the next round." The Lewes Braves will play against the Milton Brewers in the next round. Milton won their series against the Milford Clippers 3 games to 1. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the The Wild Card finishes.

After the dust settled the top team in the Delaware Conference was headed home. The Milford Clippers and their league high 113 W's just couldn't stop the red-hot Milton Brewers, the wild card team, and possible the favorite to head into the DBL Files from the DC. The Brewers are going to head over to Lewes where they will play their bitter division rival the Lewes Braves. These two teams match up well, but the Brewers headed into the playoffs on a hot streak, and based on what they did to the Clippers are remaining on that hot streak!

MarVa Conference
Annapolis Sweeps into the Conference Championship: With a 3-2 win to wrap up the series at Ballpark of Richmond, the Annapolis Admirals have eliminated the Richmond Cardinals in the The Wild Card and move on to the Conference Championship. Annapolis controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 3-0 sweep. Lúcio Peña led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .500 batting average, along with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs. "We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish." The Annapolis Admirals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Washington Senators - Norfolk Cavaliers series. Norfolk leads the series 2 games to 0. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the The Wild Card finishes.

Norfolk Moves on to Conference Championship: The Norfolk Cavaliers are riding high after winning the The Wild Card and eliminating the Washington Senators by a series score of 3-1. The final blow came tonight at Senators Stadium, when Norfolk secured its spot in the Conference Championship with a 8-7 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said first baseman Oliver Ramos, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Ramos certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .611 with a .632 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 3 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Norfolk Cavaliers will play against the Annapolis Admirals in the next round. Annapolis won their series against the Richmond Cardinals 3 games to 0. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the The Wild Card finishes.

Nothing surprising here as the top two teams easily made their way through the playoffs. The Cardinals and the Senators didn't put up much of a fight, which sets up a wonderful Admirals Cavaliers Conference championship round. Both teams are solid teams with the Cavaliers having the edge on the pitching and the Admirals the edge with the bats. Lucio Pena the power hitting, MVP candidate, for the Admirals went down during the wild card and will miss the rest of the playoffs, this could turn the tides unless the Admirals offense can pick him up.

Around the League:
Ellicott City Express:
OF Roman Aguilar announced he will hang it up. The 36-year-old came over from Cuba and played 5-sub-par seasons in Ellicott City. He finishes his career hitting .256-34-137.
Washington Senators: Lost Closer Lazzaro Tadiotto for the playoffs. It was announced the day before the playoff's started that Laz will miss 4-5 weeks with a stained abdominal muscle.
Milford Clippers: SP Seth Bennett, the 2024 Golden Arm Award Winner, has decided to hang it up after his 18th season was cut short with shoulder inflammation. Bennet, 39, will be remembered as one of the games most consistent pitchers, posting a 214-155 3.42 carer record with 2197 K's and a career 80.7 WAR.
Milford Clippers: Came to terms with their never aging closer, Ed Yoder, on a 2-year deal worth $11M per. The second year is a vesting option if he isn't used as the closer. This season Yoder went 7-4 1.85 with 46 saves in 74 games. He is the current all-time leader in saves and games in the DBL. The 40-year-old doesn't look to be stopping anytime soon.

Not much going on in Chadds Ford. Some complaining by Carl Oulton about how the clubhouse isn't "happy"... now remember he hasn't been around since June after being derailed with a bone spur. Oulton went 4-6 4.69 in 15 starts, his replacement? Jesus Lugo, who went 9-5 3.70 in 18 starts... guess who is expendable??

We also lost one member our of minor league staff, Dalton Whitaker. After 2-sub-par seasons in AA (126-164 .434) we let him go. It wasn't really his performance that cost him, but the teams attitude, his controlling personality, and the fact that one player on the roster actually liked him! Hopefully we will get someone else in there that will make things better.

Other than that I am chilling watching the playoffs and thinking of a game plan. Trade before arbitration? Who to deal? How can we get better with out giving up too much? A lot of big things on my mind this season.

Guess it is time for me to start building my off-season game plan, who is getting dealt? Who is getting called up? Who is going to lead this team?

Should be a real fun off-season... all that is assuming that our owner Corbin decides to bring me back.

2034 Conference Championship Results / News

2034 Playoffs / Conference Finals:

Lewes Takes Conference Championship: Marvin Garrett wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Conference Championship MVP. The star's Lewes Braves defeated the Milton Brewers by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the League Championship. Lewes won the final game by a 2-1 count in front of a raucous crowd at Braves Ballpark. Garrett hit .261 with a .308 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 4 home runs, driving in 6 RBI and scoring 5 runs. "Just trying to do my job, that's all there is too it," said Garrett. The Lewes Braves will play against the Norfolk Cavaliers in the next round. Norfolk won their series against the Annapolis Admirals 4 games to 3. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes.

Conference Championship Goes the Distance, Norfolk Prevails: The Norfolk Cavaliers are heading to the League Championship, having narrowly defeated the Annapolis Admirals. Norfolk edged Annapolis in the series 4-3, with a win at Cavaliers Ballpark in the clinching game by a 7-1 margin. Oliver Ramos turned in a strong offensive performance for the Cavaliers and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a League Championship win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Ramos continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .346 with a .393 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Norfolk Cavaliers will play against the Lewes Braves in the next round. Lewes won their series against the Milton Brewers 4 games to 2. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes.

The wins by the Braves and the Cavaliers mean we will see the two winningest teams in DBL history face off. The Braves have 1929 all-time wins, including 12 playoff appearances and 5 titles. The last time the Braves pulled off the win was in 2032... The Cavaliers will try to repeat their 2033 title run. The 2365 wins are an all-time high, as are their 11 all-time titles!

This should be an interesting series, but the Cavaliers have to be favorite. The Braves and Cavaliers didn't face each other this year, and based on the stats it looks like the Braves pitching will need to stop the Cavaliers hitters and if they can they might be able to pull it off.

Lewes Braves: #3 in Runs Scored with 704, and #1 in Runs Against with 508.
Norfolk Cavaliers: #3 in Runs Scored with 864, and #1 in Runs Against with 575.

My Prediction Cavaliers in 5.

WAR: Ernie Kennedy, Norfolk Cavaliers: 8.1

I am working my way through the roster with who is going to be around and who isn't... so far here is what I have:
C: Donald Hampton
1B: Hank Davis
2B: Juan Guzman (rookie)
3B: Zach Davenport
SS:
LF: Bryant Montes
CF: Matt Douglas (out for 7 more months) / Henry Gilmore
RF: Tim Burman
DH: Anthony Howard

Not much is going to change with the offense. I would also like to see a better defensive SS heading into next season. Which means Stanton Anderson and Francisco Villalobos will be on the "hot" seat heading into the off-season.

SP: John Denton
SP: Jason Lancaster
SP: Jose Lopez
SP: Jesus Lugo
SP: Eric Harmon (rookie) or Mike Quinn

This rotation means Carl Oulton and Carlos Sanchez are on the hot seat. I will miss Sanchez, but with the small budget the long-term deal I pulled off with Sanchez looks really bad. I just hope there will be a market for them.

CL: Jonathan Loeffler
SU: Kerry Neal
SU: Tony Cox
MR: Mike Quinn or Eric Harmon
MR: Tony Cox
MR: Matt Noble

This makes Ruben Dano Dasmarinas expendable. I just have a hard time keeping a pitcher with a 5/7 control rating. He did however only walk 33 in 45.2 innings last season. It is possible he ends up staying around...

Other pitches to watch Gallin Krall, Bill Summers, and Tadasuke Uenohara... Dan Kessler might also join the expendable list. We will see how it goes.

This is the first "rough" look at what 2034 is going to look like, I do think we are heading into the right direction... I just hope I am around for it. I guess I will find that out soon...

2034 DelMarVa Championship Results

2034 Playoffs / DelMarVa Championships:

Lewes Defeats Norfolk: With a 13-5 win over the Norfolk Cavaliers at Caviliers Ballpark today, the Lewes Braves wrapped up their 6th title in team history. The Braves left little doubt who was the better team. Celebrating a banner year, "team" was the word of the day in the victorious clubhouse after the game. "Hitting, pitching, fielding; those are all things you need to win, but most importantly you need a team, a team that works together toward the same collective goal," said Lewes manager Jorge Gonzáles. "Our players felt that way all year, and they played that way. When one guy had an off day, 24 others stepped up their game and filled the void." A jovial mood filled the air as Lewes celebrated into the night. The city's mayor said parade plans were underway and a "huge celebration" would be in order. "I hope they have a big celebration," said Lewes manager Jorge Gonzáles. "They've earned it."

Lewes Braves Win 'Fall Classic' and Get Invited to the White House: Besides winning the big game and all of the accolades that go along with it, the President of the United States has already let the team know that he would like them to visit later this year. When speaking of the call he received from the POTUS, Braves Manager, Jorge Gonzáles, seemed a bit flustered. "He told us that he wants to meet the boys that won the Series and asked if we would come to the White House. I told him, "Hell Yes...er-Yes Sir, Mr President". While the date has not yet been decided, we will be reporting upon the exciting event.

2034 Glove Wizard Award Winners

Season's Best Fielders Selected by DE Conf:
Hit 'em where they ain't is a baseball axiom that doesn't seem to apply to this group of fielders. They covered lots of ground all season long and have thus been named the Delaware Conference Glove Wizard Award winners for 2034:

Pitcher
Fernando Fareles (Milton Brewers) - 2x winner

Catcher
Dan Foley (Milton Brewers)

First Baseman
Richard Forbes (Wilmington Iron Pigs) - 5x winner

Second Baseman
Loren Barnes (Seaford Blue Jays)

Third Baseman
Peter Harvey (Lewes Braves)

Shortstop
Jimmy Daly (Dover Generals)

Left Fielder
Pete Wyman (Christiana Blue Hens) - 2x winner

Center Fielder
Steve Moon (Milton Brewers)

Right Fielder
Tim Burman (Chadds Ford Cannons) - 2x winner

MV Conf Glove Wizard Award Winners Named:
Any pitcher would love to have these defenders on the field backing them up. They are the best glovemen in the MarVa Conference for 2034. This year's Glove Wizard Award winners are:

Pitcher
Anthony Sinclair (Washington Senators)

Catcher
Gabriel Krook (Baltimore Barons)

First Baseman
Juan Moreno (Baltimore Barons)

Second Baseman
Mike Thompson (Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs) - 3x winner

Third Baseman
Lawrence Veeck (Salisbury Ports)

Shortstop
Ramón Lorenzo (Norfolk Cavaliers) - 2x winner

Left Fielder
Bob Brooks (Ocean City Tourists)

Center Fielder
Mike Johnson (Ellicott City Express) - 3x winner

Right Fielder
Román Cruz (Chesapeake Blue Crabs)

---

There were a lot of 1st time winners this time around, which is always good to see. 1B Richard Forbes won for his 5th time and is now 2 behind the all-time record held by: SS Anthony Lucarelli, 3B Tom Anderson, OF Mike Simmons, OF Peter Peters, and OF Kent Davis. Forbes is 31-years-old so it is feasible he could chase that record down.

2034 Reliever of the Year

Top DE Conf Reliever Honored:
He's a veteran presence in the Milford Clippers bullpen and now Ed Yoder can say he's a 2034 award winner The bullpen ace was today named the Delaware Conference Reliever of the Year Award winner. "When you're 40 years old, your main objective is to just stay healthy and stay productive. I guess I did that this year," he said. The award was won on the strength of a season that featured 46 saves in 74 relief appearances, with 80 strikeouts in 78 innings and a record of 7-4 to go with his 1.85 ERA.

Sung-il Kwon of the Newark Millers finished second in voting, while Hee-seop So of the Lewes Braves finished third.

Reliever of the Year Award Goes to González:
They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but in the case of Miguel Angel González of the Norfolk Cavaliers, you don't have to - his old tricks worked just fine in 2034. The 34-year-old veteran turned in a sparkling performance and has won the MarVa Conference Reliever of the Year Award. He captured the award with 45 saves in 75 relief appearances, 103 strikeouts and 13 walks in 80.2 innings. He put up a record of 6-5 to go with his 1.90 ERA.

Travis Abadee of the Richmond Cardinals finished second in voting, while Richard O'Herlihy of the Baltimore Barons finished third.

---

This is Yoders 3rd time and Gonzalez's 4th time. The Award has only been around 6 seasons.

2034 Newcomer of the Year Award

Kiyomizu Is DE Conf's Rookie of the Year:
Georgetown's right fielder Tadiyuki Kiyomizu is the latest winner of the Delaware Conference Newcomer Award. During his first year in the league, the 29-year-old Kiyomizu hit .319 with 165 hits, 26 home runs, 101 RBIs and 75 runs scored. He also walked 72 times and put up a .407 on-base percentage.

2034 Manager of the Year Award

Delaware Conference Selects Manager of the Year:
An outstanding season by the Braves garnered their manager Jorge Gonzáles the Delaware Conference Manager of the Year award for 2034. He led Lewes to a 102-60 record this year and a first place finish in the Delaware Conference Atlantic Division. Even so, Gonzáles seemed less than thrilled. "I don't give a damn about the award," he growled to reporters, "I just want this team to win championships!"

MV Conf Top Manager Trophy Goes to Ray:
The Norfolk Cavaliers coaching staff broke out the bubbly when Manager Arthur Ray was announced as 2034 MarVa Conference Manager of the Year. He skippered the Cavaliers to a 107-55 record this year and a first place finish in the MarVa Conference Coastal Division. To a man, they all agreed that their boss was most deserving of the award. All had glowing words to say about this year's winning manager. "He just has a way with people. Coaches and players alike love him."

---

Gonzalez won for the 2nd time, winning it 2 seasons ago when he brought home the title in Lewes... Ray has won the award again and again. He is on record with 6 of them but a few of them were given to me as the GM (wrong setting)... so he has 9 or 10 of them...

2034 Golden Arm Award Winners

Golden Arm Award Presented by DE Conf:
What does it take to win the Golden Arm Award? Just ask Ricardo González of the Milford Clippers -- the latest Delaware Conference Golden Arm Award winner. "My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Golden Arm Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career." The Clippers pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 23 games and losing only 7. In 35 starts, González registered a 2.14 ERA and limited other clubs to a .200 batting average. He fanned 292 in 269.1 innings and issued 57 walks.

Fernando Fareles of the Milton Brewers finished second in voting, while Bud Jackson of the Lewes Braves finished third.

MV Conf Golden Arm Award Goes to Kennedy:
The Golden Arm Award for 2034 has been presented and the MarVa Conference winner is Ernie Kennedy of Norfolk. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Kennedy. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cavaliers star told reporters. Kennedy excelled with an impressive 22-7 record in 33 starts. In 271.1 innings he yielded 209 hits and 42 walks, while striking out 236 and compiling a fine 2.32 ERA.

Joaquín Hernández of the Norfolk Cavaliers finished second in voting, while Miguel Angel González of the Norfolk Cavaliers finished third.

---

Ricardo Gonzalez continues to amaze as he pulled in his 8th Golden Arm Award. He is setting his mark as the top pitcher ever to pitch in the DBL...

Kennedy won the Golden Arm for the first time. He joins a long line of Cavaliers to win the award. Contreras, Brown, Pearson, Hollis, and Hernandez (I might be missing one).

2034 Silver Slugger Award Winners

DE Conf Names Most Valuable Player Award Winner:
What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2034 Most Valuable Player Award in the Delaware Conference. It had already been a very special season for Milford's Juan Hernández, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake. All season long Juan Hernández gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .314 as he collected 132 hits, 9 doubles, 2 triples, 43 home runs and 109 RBIs.

Shawn Wilson of the Milford Clippers finished second in voting, while Phil Kaufman of the Milford Clippers finished third.

Peña Heads MV Conf Best Player List:
Annapolis's Lúcio Peña put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2034 MarVa Conference Most Valuable Player Award. The 30-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .297 average, picking up 173 hits, 30 doubles, 3 triples, 51 home runs and 134 RBIs, while scoring 127 runs.

Ricardo Hidalgo of the Washington Senators finished second in voting, while Héctor Pagán of the Richmond Cardinals finished third.

---

Hernandez won his first award and quite frankly I am surprised. He has never been "that" good, but this season he finally lived up to expectations. And I congratulate him, finally living up to his expectations.... Pena won for the second time in a row, giving him two Awards. I was surprised Pena beat out Hidalgo, the voters seem to love him, so that was nice to see.

2034/2035 Off-Season Report #1 (11/23/2034)

Top 5 WAR:
1. Newark Millers (+2.6)
2. Martinsburg Mountaineers (+2.0)

I sat back and enjoyed the Championship round, and then the fun began... I hope the build this team up a little bit more and take down the Newark Millers! My 2035 goal, its lofty, but I do think its doable... Now on to the job at hand, make this team a playoff team!

News from the Owner:
Personal Message from Owner Ralph Corbin: Review of Season Goals: Tony,

I have reviewed the goals I have set out for you. My comments are below.

Team Record:
You did make it above .500 this year, albeit barely. I know you always hope for more, but keep up the hard work and success will come your way soon.

Increase Attendance:
I am glad to see more fans show up than in the past, but you still have a long way to go to accomplish the goal I set out for you. Keep finding more ways to get fans to The Cannons Battefield.

Improve your draft record:
You can't rebuild a group overnight, but keep looking for opportunities to bring the guys we drafted to the team. The years they spent through the organization should serve them well.

Long Term:
I am sorely disappointed in your performance. When I gave you the goal of making the playoffs in the next 5 seasons back in 2029, I had faith that you wouldn't fail me. I trusted you to steer the ship home, and it didn't make it.

I am satisfied with your performance in accomplishing the goals I had set out for you. I feel similarly about your handling of the team's on-field and front office management.

Next year is a new year, though. Here's what I'd like to see you accomplish going forward:

Play close to .500 ball
Improve your team Home Runs
Increase team attendance from 33424 to 38000 per game
Bring more of your drafted players to your team
Keep building your team up, in order to reach the playoffs in the next 6 seasons

I will check in with you again next season. Good Luck!.

Ralph Corbin

Personal Message from Owner Ralph Corbin: New Budget:
Tony,

I have just decided on your budget for the upcoming season.
You will have $62,000,000 available for the total team expenses. Given your current spending on staff and other costs, this should allow you a team payroll of around $40,000,000.

You may now set your ticket price for next year. You have until the Winter Meetings end on December 17th, 2034, 48 days from now, to set the price. Season tickets will start selling at that point. You have until the end of the pre-season to set your Scouting Budget, Player Development Budget, Draft Budget, and Intl Amateur FA Budget.

You may review all your financials on your front office page .

Good Luck!
Ralph Corbin

Personal message from Owner Ralph Corbin: Contract Extended!: Congratulations!

After careful consideration, I have decided to extend your contract with the Chadds Ford Cannons. Your new contract is for 2 years and a value of $600,000 per year.

Regards,
Ralph Corbin

Off-Season Profile:
Budget: $62,000,000 (22nd)
Payroll: $34,375,050
Money for Free-Agents: $287,000 (beginning of off-season) >> $3,766,950 (current)
Money for Extensions: none (beginning of off-season) >> $0 (current)
Fan Interest: 54 (-2)
WAR Gain/Loss: -6.9 (17th out of 24)

Players Added: OF Julio Casanes (.233/.310/.398, 12 HR, #2 prospect), 3B Howard Porter (.245/.306/.404, 25 HR), SS Jose Ayala (SA), SP Joey Hamric (3-6 4.43, 3 SV), MR Tomas Ramirez (SA), MR Jesus Gonzlaez (AA, #95)

Players Lost: SP Carl Oulton (4-6 4.69), SP Alonso Reyes (AA, #211), OF Tim Burman (.254/.299/.396, 19), SP Carlos Sanchez (15-11 3.58), C Leo Fountain (A), SP Jason Lancaster (11-13 4.79) , OF Juan Gallegos (SA)

Personnel Updates
Hitting Coach Ramon Garcia... He joined the team for part of the season and had this team firing. I dropped the ball by not resigning him, so now I am hunting for a new hitting coach.

In AA We promoted PC Trent Worboys to manager, and sigend Carlos Cruz to 2-year deal to be our new pitching coach. He was the bench-coach for the past 3-seasons in Seaford.

We are still looking for a hitting coach in Chadds Ford. Hopefully we can sign someone soon.

Trades:
I didn't waste anytime getting the off-season going... and I might have gone a little crazy. Can I really make ground by trading 3 of previous seasons starters? I hope these kids and youngsters are ready to pick up the slack! I will miss Sanchez the most, he was supposed to be my rock for many years, but financially it didn't make sense. His escalating contract and my dwindling budget, just didn't match up... Lancaster and Oulton? Good pitchers but both had big attitudes. The more deals I make the more worried I am becoming. I am hoping I am not biting off my nose to spite my face. Hopefully one of these young kids is going to step it up... I am not so sure about these moves.

Cannons, Mountaineers Confirm Trade:
Reports have surfaced that Chadds Ford has agreed to send 24-year-old RHP Carl Oulton and 25-year-old minor league RHP Alonso Reyes to the Martinsburg Mountaineers in exchange for 24-year-old LF Júlio Casanes, 17-year-old minor league RHP Ángelo Salinas and a 5th round draft pick. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Since joining the league, Oulton has compiled an ERA of 4.05 with a career record of 29-36. He has 354 strikeouts in 574 innings and has held opponents to a .258 batting average.

Chadds Ford-King George Trade Confirmed:
BNN has learned the Chadds Ford Cannons have reportedly worked out a deal with the King George Royals. Sources close to the Cannons indicated that a trade has been reached in principle where 25-year-old 3B Howard Porter and 18-year-old minor league SS José Ayala will be swapped to Chadds Ford with 28-year-old RF Tim Burman, 27-year-old RHP Carlos Sánchez, 25-year-old minor league C Leo Fountain and a 5th round draft pick heading to King George. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying it was club policy not to speak about a trade until it was finalized. Sánchez has a lifetime ERA of 4.36 with a record of 51 wins and 53 losses. Porter has a career .242 average with 290 hits, 29 doubles, 6 triples, 42 home runs, 118 RBIs, and 154 runs scored to date.

Deal: Lancaster for Hamrick:
It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the Chadds Ford Cannons and Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends Chadds Ford's 27-year-old RHP Jason Lancaster, 20-year-old minor league CF Juan Gallegos and a 6th round draft pick to Virginia Beach in a swap for 26-year-old RHP Joey Hamrick, 20-year-old minor league RHP Tomás Ramírez, 22-year-old minor league RHP Jesús Gonzáles and a 2nd round draft pick. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. In his career stats Lancaster has a record of 29 wins and 40 losses and a 4.35 ERA. He has struck out 435 in 640.2 innings. In his career Hamrick has appeared in 106 games and captured 5 saves. He has 4 wins and 8 losses and a 4.37 ERA with 100 strikeouts in 154.1 innings.

Arbitration:
Player >> Current Salary >> Team Offer >> final decision
SP John Denton >> $490,000 >> $3,600,000 >> $4,455,000 (player)
SP Jose Lopez >> $490,000 >> $3,000,000 >> $3,750,000 (player)
MR Dan Kessler >> $735,000 >> $892,000 >> $892,000 (team)
MR Matt Noble >> $490,000 >> $900,000 >> $900,000 (team)
2B Stanton Anderson >> $490,000 >> $750,000 >> $750,000 (team)
3B Zach Davenport >> $490,000 >> $750,000 >> $750,000 (team)
SS Jason Simmons >> $490,000 >> $650,000 >> $735,000 (player)
OF Bo Keller >> $490,000 >> $750,000 >> $750,000 (team)

Looking over this list i might need to make some moves, not sure I can keep Denton, Lancaster and Lopez, that will be a lot of salary in the starting staff. Then again it is hard to say goodbye to that many pitchers too, especially after I already dealt Carl Oulton... I did end up trading Burman and Lancaster to avoid arbitration. Hopefully this isn't too much and Corbin will be accepting of this team and our budget... if not more moves to come.

Free Agents:
2B Manny Hernandez - We have the option to submit a $13M qualifying offer to Hernandez, but there is no way I am going to offer Hernandez $13,000,000. I will miss Manny and his speed, but it is time for us to let him go. He could have a decent future with someone else.

MR Vaughan Griffith - I signed Vaughan because I liked him and have followed him for years, but I don't need him or his "leadership" anymore. He will be missed, because he has always been one of my favorite DBL players. This might have been his last DBL hooray. In 12 games for us this season he went 0-0 2.95.

My Notes
Here is a little about my time in Chadds Ford. This year 2034, we made history. We are the first team from the 2030 expansion to play over .500 ball and we are right on track to make the playoffs in the very near future. I am hoping for a 2035 showing, but will accept a 2036 one.

My history in Chadds Ford:
2030: 58-104 .358 (-47 GB) / GM Score: 1
2031: 61-101 .377 (-21 GB) / GM Score: 1
2032: 69-93 .426 (-10 GB) / GM Score: 1
2033: 71-91 .438 (-23 GB) / GM Score: 11
2034: 82-80 (-4 GB) / GM Score: 45

From 2030 to 2031 I made $650,000 per year, Corbin was nice enough to give me a raise up to $700,000 in 2033 and 2034, and during this off-season Corbin offered me a 2-year-deal worth $600,000 per year. Congrats really? I lead this team to an over .500 record and he cuts my salary... not sure how I feel about this. I think I am going to stick it out only because I want to bring a winner home to CF. I want to be the leader of this team when we raise that Championship Banner. So maybe the cut in salary isn't that big of deal...

Well I current went crazy with my starting rotation, and I am not sure what it is going to look like in 2035. Current here is what it looks like:
John Denton
Jose Lopez
Jesus Lugo
Tadasuke Uenohara
Joey Hamrick

I am not sure this is going to be enough, but I can financially afford it! It will be interesting to see how Eric Harmon and Mike Quinn will grow and be ready to pitch next season. We might have some pitching battles coming up.

Our offense is going to be better, just having Hampton, Davis and Howard around for a full season will give us a boost. Right now I am happy with what we have going on and I really think we can put up some big runs. Now if the pitching comes through and these guys hit we are in good shape.

Here is what the lineup is looking like as of now:
Howard Porter (3B)
Anthony Howard (DH)
Matt Douglas (CF)
Hank Davis (1B)
Francisco Villalobos (SS)
Donald Hampton (C)
Bryant Montes (LF)
Stanton Anderson (2B)
Henry Moore (RF)

With some strong players on the bench like Jesus Casanes, Pablo Rivera and Zach Daveport. My fear with this lineup Villalobos playing SS, that could really crush our defense... we will see what happens. Plus this doesn't take into consideration Juan Guzman and his inevitable call up.

We have a long way to go till we start playing ball, so I might need to pull off a deal or two to make this team better. I am not sure. I do need a SS, I think at least. We will see what happens. I am happy with the progress we have made so far.

Here is to the rest of the off-season, lets do this.

Coming Up:
Hall of Fame Voting
Winter Meetings
Rule-5 Draft
Hall of Fame Results

Peters Honored by First Ballot Selection to DBL Hall of Fame:
Thousands of fans braved the wind to watch and cheer as baseball's latest legend, Peter Peters, was inducted into the DELMARVA Baseball League Hall of Fame today. With his 547 home runs, 2353 hits and lifetime .309 batting average, everyone knew the gifted right fielder belonged with the immortals of the game. Still, Peters remained humble.

"I'm a very lucky person to be born with the skill to play baseball and through baseball I built a name for myself," said Peters. Now finally his career as a baseball player is complete. "This seals it," he said. "To get the recognition that every ballplayer seeks -- this is completion for me."

Peters retired at 38 in 2030. He was inducted as a member of the New Castle Colonials, earning votes from 99.4% of eligible voters. In his epic career he played in 2151 games and finished with 1491 RBIs and 1649 runs scored.

Davis Latest HOF Legend:
What a career and what a ballplayer.
Kent Davis truly was one of the best to play the game and today he was enshrined into the DELMARVA Baseball League Hall of Fame with 90.6% of writer's ballot votes.

"It is an honor to be mentioned with the greatest players of all time. I want to thank my family, friends and teammates for supporting me throughtout this long career," the outstanding center fielder said at the induction ceremony.

In his career, Davis played in 1940 games with a .335 lifetime batting average. Among his 2792 hits were 351 doubles, 62 triples and 25 home runs. He also scored 1235 runs and drove in 885 runs.

Kent Davis retired from baseball at the age of 39 in 2029.

Jones Joins HOF Immortals:
Enshrinement beckoned for Cliff Jones, as he was inducted into the DELMARVA Baseball League Hall of Fame today. Jones, who played most of his 2102 games at third baseman, was an outstanding hitter and batted .312 over his career and swatted 193 home runs. Baseball's newest legend collected 1099 RBIs and scored 1265 runs during his illustrious career.

But while he was class act on the field, it was off the field where Cliff Jones shined the most. He was most active in the Washington Senators community, selflessly donating his time and money to various causes. The press was largely unaware of his charity and Jones never made a fuss about it.

"I played a child's game for many years and this game brought me fame and fortune," Jones explained during his ceremony. "For some people, it's enough, but my mother raised me to realize that money doesn't make a person great. Being good at a game doesn't make a person great. Helping those in need and giving of yourself selflessly is what makes a person great. And that's what I have tried to be my entire life: great, both on the field and off of the field."

Personnel Updates:
HC Albert Briggs signed on to a 3-year, $212,000 per annum deal. Briggs has a lot of experience. The last 2-seasons he was the BC in New Castle, before that he spent 6-years as the HC in Wilmington after spending 6-years in Ellicott City as the HC. He should get along well with most of the players and I am hoping he can give our offense a boost.

Rule-5 Draft:
The pre-draft transactions are done. I made some moves to keep some of my "prospects" on the team. Now hopefully someone will be drafted to free up some of the junk. I am sad that I had to DFA Castro, he just wasn't that good. I had high hopes for him, but he was never to amount to as much as I thought he would.

2B Mike Griffin was designated for assignment and placed on waivers.
SP Felipe Leyva was designated for assignment and placed on waivers.
SS Jason Simmons was designated for assignment and placed on waivers.
3B Edgardo Castro was designated for assignment and placed on waivers.
RP Steve Adams was designated for assignment and placed on waivers.
Placed SP Oscar Robinson on the 40-man roster.
Placed CF Armando Martínez on the 40-man roster.
Placed 2B Alberto Silva on the 40-man roster.
Placed 2B Manuel Rivera on the 40-man roster.
Placed LF Eugene Todd on the 40-man roster.
Placed 2B Juan Guzmán on the 40-man roster.
Placed SP Eric Harmon on the 40-man roster.

I drafted 3B/SS/LF Ricardo Bravo in the first round. He should be able to hit and play D. Has great speed, but very little power. He is 1-3 in his big league career, but hasn't seen a a big league roster since 2032. We will see what he has to bring to the table, and it is possible he doesn't make the team. I am however notorious for drafting players and keeping them around: Kessler, Quinn, Leyva, and Neal. Always trying to find that diamond in the rough.

Trades:
none

Free Agents:
Signed free agent LF Russell Worsfold to a minor league contract with a $1,410,000 signing bonus.
Signed free agent 2B Geoff Vaughan to a minor league contract.
Signed SP/MR Nobukazu Higashi to a 4-year deal worth $23,000,000. I thought it was a good singing, but part of me is still a little unsure. That is my "big" free-agent for this off-season.

Higashi is a solid pitcher who is going to get ground balls. He throws 5 above-average pitches and has solid stuff, decent control and room to grow. I am hoping he develops into my #2 or 3 starter... I did waive/DFA Pat Jones to make room for Higashi. Jones, I had hopes for, but when I brought on my new scout things changed. He went from a 4* to a 2.5* prospect and looking at his hitting stats, it made sense. Another guy I dealt for thinking of a bright future, only to be disappointed.

My Notes:
With the additions made so far this off-season I'd like to think we are heading in the right direction. I had to deal away some of our pitching, and part of me is really regretting dealing Sanchez, but hopefully these other "kids" can make up for it.

As of right now, Burgos, our manager, who is in charge of lineups and rotation has a starting 5 that looks like this, this will most likely change by spring, but we will see:
John Denton
Jose Lopez
Jesus Lugo
Nobukazu Higashi
Eric Harmon

With Joey Hamrick, Tony Cox, Tadasuke Uenohara, and Mike Quinn in the bullpen, but ready to take on starting roles when they can. This staff is getting deep. I am still tempted at trying to deal MR Ruben Dano Dasmarines. I think we have enough that dealing him won't (or might not) hurt.

I think I have picked up some solid talent his off-season despite what our overall "WAR" says. Julio Casanes hit 12 bombs last year, and is loaded with talent and a lot of upside. He isn't a great "leader" but has a great work ethic, which this teams needs. I am hoping these things can rub off on the rest of the team.

3B Howard Porter is another guy with a lot of talent and should upt up better numbers than his .245-25-59 last year. Plus he has speed, and I am hoping he will be able to use that and get some steals and score some runs! Porter has normal leader ability, but is another hard worker.

3B Ricardo Bravo is going to be a great back-up for this team. Another guy with speed and the ability to hit and a plus fielder. As it has been with most of my signings Bravo has a great work ethic, but not a lot of leader ability.

This lineup should put up some runs.
3B Howard Parker
DH Anthony Howard
CF Matt Douglas (out 5-months) / Henry Gilmore
1B Hank Davis
SS Francisco Villalobos
C Donald Hampton
LF Julio Gilmore
RF Bryant Montes
2B Stanton Anderson or Zach Davenport.

With the players I have on this team I might need to make a move. Can I carry four catchers on my 40-man roster? Do I need Anderson and Davenport, who are essentially the same player? What could this team use to put us over the top? The Millers, who beat us by 4-games last year, have added 6.6 WAR to their roster. What will that mean to us? Do I wait to make the moves? Make them now? A lot going on, but I have a positive feeling about this year.

We are good and getting better, and just a solid well-rounded team. We are going to compete this season (and if we don't, can you say "fire sale"?)

2035 Off-Season Report #3 (02/26/2035)

Top 5 WAR:
1. Lewes Braves (+12.4)
2. Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs (+9.9)
3. Newark Millers (+7.6)
4. Ocean City Tourists (+6.0)
5. Ellicott City Express (+5.9)

Bottom 5 WAR:
24. Milton Brewers (-14.7)
23. Chadds Ford Cannons (-8.6)
22. Milford Clippers (-6.5)
21. Richmond Cardinals (-5.1)
20. Annapolis Admirals (-4.4)

Around the League:
Still some aging big names on the free-agent board, but no one is bigger than SP Gonzalo Bustamante, who is still out for 6-months. He is a "fragile" player, but when he is on, he is on.

Others available:
1B Yann Gosselin, MR Orlando Ruiz, MR Vaughan Griffith, 1B Mike Ford, SP Ben Sanford, MR Yoo-hyun Kim, C Jesus Alarcon, OF Henry Hamer, and MR Luis Manuel Gonzalez. Have these vets seen their last days, or will there be a team out there ready to give them a shot?

Pre-season games are about to begin and the initial predictions are in:
Colonial: Milford Clippers: 108-54
Newark Millers: 93-69
Lewes Braves: 99-63
Wild Card: Georgetown Sixteens: 92-70

Beltway: Washington Senators: 93-69
Mountain: Richmond Cardinals: 100-63
Coastal: Norfolk Cavaliers: 97-65
Wild Card: Ellicott City Express: 90-72

It is always interesting to compare these predictions to the final spring predictions. There is always some kind of change, but this group of teams looks to be the best of the pact.

Trades:
Ocean City Tourists:
Traded for MR/CL Roger Gentry (along with $2,320,000) from the King George Royals for minor leaguers OF Gabriel Medina (SA) and C Ray Cameron (SA).
Annapolis Admirals: Acquired minor league SP Ramon Sanchez (SA) from the Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs for minor leaguer SP Pablo Garcia (SA).
Ocean City Tourists: Acquired 1B Marcos Ramos (.242-37-106) from the Washington Senators for 2B Albert Velazquez (.244-3-28), 3B Diego Guillen (no exp) and $3,110,000 cash.

Notable Signings:
Annapolis Admirals: Signed the reigning MVP to a 7-year extension worth $18,257,142 per year. OF Lucio Pena hit .297-51-134 last year, his second season in a row with 50+ HR's. Oddly enough he has played in 130 or more games over the past 6-seasons, but is known to be "wrecked".

Milford Clippers: Signed SP Alfredo Mejia to a 3-year deal worth $35,700,000.
Richmond Cardinals: Signed MR Teo Ha to a 3-year deal worth $11,640,000.
Lewes Braves: Came to terms with 2B Claudio Flores on a 1-year deal worth $980,000.
Annapolis Admirals: CL Lazzaro Tadiotto signed a 1-year deal worth $640,000.
Wilmington Iron Pigs: Signed CL/MR Ramon Tirado to a 3-year / $12,040,000 deal.
Norfolk Cavaliers: Signed Japanese 1B Yasushi Fujimoto to a 3-year deal worth $12,760,000.
Washington Senators: Signed 3B Ken Holmes to a 2-year deal worth $10,900,000.
Georgetown Sixteens: Signed C Melvin Wright to a 3-year deal worth $15,680,000.
Norfolk Cavaliers: Agreed to terms with MR Richard O'Herlihy to a 2-year deal worth $28,000,000.
Washington Senators: Signed SP Ray Thompson to a 2 year deal worth $16,600,000.
Lewes Braves: Agreed to terms with MR Mike Orr on a 3-year deal worth $34,500,000.
Ellicott City Express: Signed MR Roberto Chavez to a 1-year deal worth $2,240,000.

Trades:
none

Free Agents:
Couldn't, don't have any money, but I tired, and Ralph Corbin kept saying "NO!". Oh well, what we have is what we have... This is painful, too many decent players that could help just want a little too much money. Villalobos and Denton are the only players on this roster making over $4M. Makes it hard to compete.

My Notes:
I talked with SP Alberto Ramos who told me he has a solid offer from the Sixteens in, but would rather play for me. It is so tough not having the $7.5M that it would take to get him here. I have my eye on some many free-agents, who would be great additions, but just want too much money. This is why I focus on the international free-agents, which doesn't always pay off... along with Ramos is 1B Yasushi Fujimoto who is going to be a star in this league. At 22 he is ready to make a difference as he enters the league from Japan. But again I don't have the $5M for him. I can't even make that money up somehow...

I really hate that I can't get a budget here in CF. We brought in $20M last season with a $28M payroll! I can't get a bump at all? After 5-seasons in CF we have a +84,827,805 balance and nothing to show for it.

We are predicted to come in second in the Northern Division coming in 9-games behind the Newark Millers. The 84 W's looks pretty solid, but I still think we can do better that that. This is also the first time I remember seeing our players in the top 10 Hitters category, check this out: Hank Davis: .263-46-133, Harry Porter: .305-20-68, and Matt Douglas: .320-8-72 (who won't be there at the end of the spring predictions, he still has 3 months to spend on the DL).

This is an exciting time for this young team and I am excited to see what we can do during spring training. There arne't a whole lot of battles going on, but there will be some...

Back-up Catcher: Alton Howard, Patrick McGee or David Cornett
2B: Stanton Anderson or Juan Guzman
SS: Francisco Villalbos or Zach Davenport or Melis Collin
IF Bench: Dragon Karadzic, Stanton Anderson, Zach Davenport, Ricardo Bravo, Juan Guzman
CF till Douglas Returns: Henry Gilmore, Pablo Rivera
OF Bench: Bo Keller, Pablo Rivera, Bryant Montes, Eugene Todd, Armando Martinez

On the pitching side is where things get a lot more interesting. I will have to see what my starting pitchers have to bring. I'd like to see Tony Cox, Mike Quinn and Tadasuke Uenohra compete for a starting spot, but right now I already have 6-qualified. This may mean that one of my lefty's Jose Lopez or Jesus Lugo might get dealt, most likely Lugo with his "fragile" rating.

SP4 & 5: Eric Harmon, Nobukazu Higashi, Joey Hamrick, Tadasuke Uenohara, Tony Cox and Mike Quinn

End of BP: Matt Noble, Cox, Quinn, Dan Kessler, Pepe Martines, Tadasuke Uenohara, the other SP's.

I will carry 11 pitchers again this season and right now we have 16 in spring training. Moving 5 pitchers around shouldn't be a problem, but which one is going to be tougher. Only 4 have used all their options up (Hamrick, Kessler, Martines and Noble).

Again I may have to pull off some deals, and if I do I will be aiming for prospects.

This offense is looking good, I believe, the pitching is starting to come around. I actually think I have more depth in the pitching than I do hitting... and I need to grow some more players, being a low budget team I have to grow to stay alert and be able to contend.

My hope is to build up a team that can win the title and then get out of CF. Not that I don't like it here, but these budget restrictions make the job tough. Yes it is a challenge, but sometimes it isn't as much fun. As you sit that and watch average players sign for $9M knowing that you aren't willing to pay 1 player that much. I don't want one player making 33% of my payroll. How does that help?

Other things to keep in mind, next season Villalobos has a $5.0 vesting option, and then in 2037 and player option. You may see me try to pull off a move if we start to slump. He has notoriously been a slow starter though so that might hamper that idea.

Somethings to keep in mind:
Hot Seat for this season are Villalobos, Lugo, and Dano Dasmarinas, all with tradable talent. I will be keeping an eye on this players and checking out other teams in search of some prospects or a star SS. I have pieces to be able to make a move here or there, so you never know... Lugo was shopped around and there is some talent there, however the "best" option was a guy who 'could' be a start and that has a 'very low' work ethic, and that could spell disaster in CF.

2035 will be a season we make a move, we build, we get better and in the end we make another run at the playoffs.

Let the 'games' begin!

Around the League:
Seaford Blue Jays:
After falling off a ladder during the off-season, many speculated that MR Danny Warren's career was over. However, news from the trainers rooms is looking positive for a comeback for Warren. He most likely won't pitch this season, but if his rehab continues it could be possible that the 31-year-old could be back in 2036. There will be a lot of people watching Warren and his improbable comeback. Warren pitched in 56 games last season for the Blue Jays going 5-5 4.68 with 17 saves.

Trades:
Martinsburg Mountainners:
Acquired 2B Gary Cole (.276-8-66) and $690,000 from the Christiana Blue Hens for OF Pedro Valdes (.350-3-23).
Milton Brewers: Dealt prospect 1B Eduardo Juarez (.154-0-3, #183) to the New Castle Colonials for SP Paul Lee (10-15 4.75)

Wilmington Iron Pigs: MR George Meyer: 1 year/$1,100,000
Dover Generals: 1B Mike Ford: 1 year/$680,000
Chesapeake Blue Carbs: MR Ryan Williams: 1 year/$680,000
Washington Senators: MR Luis Manuel Gonzalez: 1 year/$1,220,000
Norfolk Cavaliers: Signed C Henry Rojas to a 5-year extension worth $78,000,000. Rojas has put up solid career numbers hitting .297-217-746, including 2 batting titles.

Injuries:
Seaford Blue Jays:
Lost MR Leonard Anderson (3-1 3.64, SV in 2034) for the year with a torn UCL.
Georgetown Sixteens: Will be without 2B Carlos Lopez (.248-2-16 in 2034) to start the season. He should be back within the first month.
Baltimore Barons: Will be without MR Francisco Manuel (1-2 6.48 in 2034) for 4-5 months with a sore shoulder.
Milford Clippers: Lost 1B Jorge Arredondo (.295-2-42 in 2034) for 5-6 months after Arredondo suffered a concussion.
Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs: Will be without their star LF Thomas Reynolds (.310-38-98 in 2034) for 4-5 weeks after Reynolds suffered a strained rib cage muscle.

Off-Season Profile:
Budget: $62,000,000 (22nd)
Payroll: $36,927,600 (23rd)
Money for Free-Agents: $1,002,400
Money for Extensions: $0
Fan Interest: 54
WAR Gain/Loss: -11.0 (24th out of 24)

A big bright spot is the increase we have had in our season ticket sales. Last season we sold 8,792 of them this year we are projected to hit 14,600, currently at 14,419. If the fans are backing up that will help us out quite a bit.

Trades:
Cannons, Generals Agree to Deal:
25-year-old LHP Rubén Dano Dasmarinas, 27-year-old 3B Zack Davenport, 20-year-old minor league CF Roberto Vásquez and 20-year-old minor league RHP Edgar Valdéz will now be playing for the Dover Generals and 25-year-old SS Luther Reid, 29-year-old SS Jay Armstrong, 18-year-old minor league SS Doeke Cornelis and 21-year-old SS Larry Miller will be suiting up for the Chadds Ford Cannons. The trade was announced today at a press conference by club officials.

Edgar Valdez was the 54th rated prospect, and Luther Reid the 91st and Larry Miller the 244th. I don't have much faith in Valdez making "it", but we got ourselves a new SS and 3 prospects. I was hoping Reid was going to be my SS, but looks like Armstrong will be the SS as Reid isn't quite ready.

Chadds Ford Trades Lugo for Cape May's Robertson: It likely won't turn either team into an instant contender or provide a huge franchise shakeup, but the Chadds Ford Cannons and Cape May Beacons finalized a trade today. Chadds Ford will send 24-year-old LHP Jesús Lugo, 19-year-old minor league SS Wladimir Bonis, 21-year-old minor league SS Marcos Castro, 21-year-old minor league LHP Pedro Estrada and a 8th round draft pick to the Beacons, while the Cannons will receive 22-year-old RHP John Robertson, 33-year-old 2B Juan Varela and 18-year-old minor league CF Juan Torres.

Lugo was struggling this spring and he is fragile. John Robertson should be my #2, but will be sent to AAA for roster space reasons. Torres is 158th prospect, Robertson the 28th. Can't get much better than that. Building up this team means a lot. And I do "think" these moves are making us better.

Free Agents:
Signed minor-league free agents CF David Flores, LF Jesus Lara, SP Coy Baker and 3B Luis Marrero. They were the best rated "young" players. I don't expect much from them.

Injuries:
OF Matt Doulgas, torn laburm, 3-months, 11-Day DL.
3B Howard Porter, fractured finger, 4-weeks, 11-Day DL

Porter missed most of spring with the injury that occurred during the second game. I am hoping he can bounce back and get his swing back.

Roster Breakdown:
Offense: Need to get down to 14.
Catchers:
Donald Hampton
Alton Howard (18 G, .333-0-1, waived)
David Cornett (18 G, .250-0-2, demoted)
Patrick McGee

** Hampton took the team by storm last season and he will be the #1 once again. I almost went with Cornett, but McGee isn't that much different and he is a better hitter so he earned the slot. These guys will be my 1 and 2 the whole season.

** Howard might have seen his last days in a Chadds Ford uniform. I am not sure he has what he takes to beat out these 3 guys and we have a lot of depth behind the plate.

First base:
Hank Davis
Anthony Howard

** Not much to be said about these two guys, expect I want a big season out of both of them.

Second base:
Stanton Anderson
Juan Guzman (26 G, .344-2-9 demoted)
Manuel Rivera (.100-0-0, demoted)
Alberto Silva (.125-0-0, demoted)

** Guzman happened to be an option cut, but should be back this season. He will be the first to come back when the time comes. At 23-years-old he has a bright future ahead of him.

Shortstop:
Melis Collin (.080-0-2, demoted)
Ricardo Bravo
Jay Armstrong (acquired)

** My manager loves Melis Colin, but he just can't hit the ball well enough to make the big leagues. When I signed him in 2032 I had dreams that he'd be the SS of the future. But I am not sure. Last season he hit .113 in 112 AB's, this spring he is hitting .080 after 27 AB's. I decided to send him down to AAA to get some more AB's for other players after 12-games.

Third base:
Zach Davenport (traded)
Dragon Karadzic
Howard Porter

** I felt I had to trade Davenport or Anderson and in the end I chose Davenport because of Howard Porter. I am hoping that will help. Plus Zach was never happy here so it was a win/win IMO.

Left field:
Julio Casanes
Bo Keller
Pablo Rivera (19 G, .107-0-2, demoted)
Eugene Todd (25 G, .349-2-7, demoted)

** I am exited to see how Casanes does this season. Casanes hit .307-4-10 during the spring. I really think he is going to have a big season and help carry this offense.

** Rivera was a shock. At 28 his career in CF might be over. His injury last year set him off in a spiral and he just hasn't got back to who he could be.

** Todd might have a decent future and will be the first OF called up if needed this year. I like Todd, he is one of my draft picks so I feel like I have a bond with him.

Centerfield:
Bryant Montes
Matt Douglas (DL)
Armando Martinez (.273-0-0, demoted)

** With Douglas on the DL Bryant Montes (or Henry Gilmore) will be starting in CF. I can't get Douglas back soon enough.

Right field:
Henry Gilmore

** Gilmore had an awful spring (.190-5-10), but I am hoping he can catch fire to start the season. This might be his last chance to make it happen in Chadds Ford. He is only 25, but he has to hit to stay around.

Pitching: Need to get down to 11
Starters:
John Denton
Jose Lopez
Jesus Lugo (traded)
Eric Harmon
Nobukazu Higashi
Joey Hamrick

** Our staff looked good this spring and I am hoping that will transpire into a lot of W's this summer. Denton: 1-1 3.15 (5 G), Hamrick: 2-1 2.25 (4 GS), Harmon: 1-0 1.13 (4 GS), Higashi: 2-0 1.80 (5 GS) and Lopez (0-2 4.05).

Closer:
Jonathan Loeffler

** I am a little worried about Loeffler. He struggled quite a bit during the spring (0-2 6.00, 5 SV). I am hoping this isn't a precursor of him being injured, but I am a little weary.

Bullpen:
Kerry Neal
Oscar Robinson (9 G, 0-1 5.03, 19.2 IP, 25 H, demoted)
Ruben Dano Dasmarinas (traded)
Tadasuke Uenohara
Pepe Martines (8 G, 2-1 8.10, 13 IP, 27 H, waived)
Dan Kessler
Tony Cox
Matt Noble
Mike Quinn (8 G, 0-1 6.14, SV, 14.2 IP, 18 H, demoted)

** Oscar Robinson I wanted to keep around, but he is another one of those you have options cuts. Plus I think he could use a little more seasoning in the minors. He is going to be good and I don't want to rush him. He is 22-years-old so he still on track.

** I wanted to trade Dano Dasmarinas for a couple of reasons. 1) He was worth something right now, and 2) he has low top control according to my scout. So I did. I believe I made the right choice and he won't be as good as he was in 2034, at least that is what I am telling myself. Either way the deal I made brought in a good bit of talent and I am happy with pulling it off.

** Uenohara had a wonderful spring 16.2 IP, 12 H and a 0.54 ERA. That earned him a slot on the roster for the start of the season. We will see how he does. I have to admit I am quite surprised he had such a great spring. Hopefully that is a good sign.

** Martines just hasn't lived up to my hopes since I rule-5'd him a few years ago. I do hope he doesn't get claimed, but it won't be an awful thing if he doesn't.

** I was hoping that Quinn would blow me away and stay around, but instead he is going to AAA and start his return to the bigs as a starter. At least that is my hope, he should be a solid #3 or 4 in the future.

My Notes:
I made a lot of changes this off-season/pre-season, and I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I like to think we will be all right, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was nervous about this. I think we have a lot of talent, I think we compete, but we must get off to a good, great, start to make it happen.

Our starting pitching has changed the most. I will miss Sanchez and Oulton. Our offense has gotten better, and will only get better when Douglas returns. The big question mark is our bullpen. Are they going to be good enough?

I want to compete this season, but when you make as many big moves as I did this off-season it makes it hard to believe you can. I do think every move I made this off-season was in the best interest of this team. It is hard to operate with a $40M salary budget when other teams are hitting $200M! I think I can make it work and as long as the owner, Ralph Corbin, keeps me long enough. Granted we will be one of the youngest teams to win it all, but it could happen... It will be one of those "Marlins" type situations. Win it then trade everyone away, because I can't afford them, lol.

I am excited to see where our minor league systems rates. I really feel like it has improved over the 6-months... This delay has been too long and I am so ready for the season to get going. Maybe 2035 is my, our, year!

Lets go Cannons.

Top Prospects and Minor League Systems - 2035

Top 100 Prospects List Published
The season is about to start, so it's time to publish the annual Top 100 Prospects list. This year 20-year-old CF Tyrone Jackson of the Martinsburg Mountaineers is the #1 prospect overall.

Here is the top 10:
1) CF Tyrone Jackson, 20, Martinsburg Mountaineers
2) RHP José Ruíz, 22, Chesapeake Blue Crabs
3) CF Mikel Wallstreet, 19, King George Royals
4) LHP Ying-hua Ji, 25, Georgetown Sixteens
5) 3B Steven Hodge, 21, Chesapeake Blue Crabs
6) RHP José Hernández, 21, Baltimore Barons
7) RHP Tony Hill, 20, Georgetown Sixteens
8) LF Brian Anderson, 22, Newark Millers
9) RHP Joey Wood, 22, Richmond Cardinals
10) RHP Nobukazu Higashi, 24, Chadds Ford Cannons

Jackson played in 17 games with the Mountaineers last season and went crazy hitting .421-7-23. He is an amazing player and the Mountaineers are lucky to have him. He should put up some big numbers. Jackson is based on Mickey Mantle, so it will be interesting to see how he compares.

Here is a look at the past top prospects, with some very quality names on the list including some Hall-of-Famers and Hall-of-Famers to be.
2013: OF Peter Peters, New Castle Colonials * Hall of Fame *
2014: SP Pedro Rivera, Ocean City Tourists
2015: C Andy Kohl, Dover Generals * Hall of Fame *
2016: SP Brad Jones, Newark Millers
2017: C Will Riley, Ellicott City Express
2018: C Antonio 'Buzz' Castaneda, Chesapeake Blue Crabs
2019: SP Pablo García, Salisbury Ports
2020: SS Anthony Lucarelli, Seaford Blue Jays
2021: SS Anthony Lucarelli, Seaford Blue Jays
2022: SP Ricardo González, Wilmington Iron Pigs
2023: MR Júlio Rocha, Milton Brewers
2024: SP Gonzalo Bustamante, Georgetown Sixteens
2025: LF Jorge Arredondo, Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs
2026: SS António Hernández, Ellicott City Express
2027: RF Jorge Arredondo, Virginia Beach Surf Dawgs
2028: SP Juan Durango, New Castle Colonials
2029: C Héctor Pagán, Richmond Cardinals
2030: C Héctor Pagán, Richmond Cardinals
2031: SS Brian Battle, Martinsburg Mountaineers
2032: SS Brian Battle, Martinsburg Mountaineers
2033: CF Salvador Espinoza, Washington Senators
2034: SP Kevin Schultz, King George Royals

Schultz started in AAA lst season, but ended up making 24 starts for the Royals. Over those 24-starts he went 10-7 2.61. He is going to be a big addition to the Royals and could carry them to competition.

Espinoza played his first full season with the Senators in 2034, he started 94 of 107 games, hitting .306-1-31, leading the MarVa Conference with 49 stolen bases!

Battle hasn't amounted to the #1 star they thought he was going to be and will start the season in AAA. Last season he hit .213-10-45 in 110 games. He still has some room to grow, and the Mountaineers hope he does. They were hoping he would be a team leader helping them to become a contender.

-----------------
Top Minor League Systems

The King George Royals repeated as being the #1 system in the game. They have a deep lineup of prospect including 5 players in the top 41! Of those 5 the Wallstreet cousins will be on the big-league roster. Mikel Wallstreet (#3) (Mike Trout) will be batting lead-off and playing CF and 2B Melvin Wallstreet (#27) batting 8th (Melvin Wallstreeet was just renamed). It looks like the Royals and Mountaineers are finally starting to progress and are getting close to being contenders, building with draft picks. The Mountaineers are #7 overall.

The Cannons made a jump this season heading up into the top five and landing at #3! Not sure we will stay there long with 3 of our top 5 prospects playing on the big-league roster. Nobukazu Higashi (#10) and Eric Harmon (#20) will be in the rotation and key to our 2035 success... This is one of the first year I can remember where we have more position players in our top 20 than pitchers. I am exited about the future we are building up and trying to get better from within, it is really all I can do with our financial limits.
