We're five hours ahead of EST

Plus, you can't TiVo on a PC; don't even try. (I edited after you quoted).

I might stretch myself to MLB.tv tonight... I'm pretty sure my zipcode isn't in a blackout area for Boston

Dice-K gives me nervous moments. Two bases loaded at bats but we stay at 0-0 middle of 1st.

Only the fourth inning, but two plays recall to my mind major debates we had on this thread or its predecessor.
  1. Giambi's error while playing the field may end up being a very costly one.
  2. Cabrera throwing out Ortiz at home with a perfect peg shows how his playing the field, centerfield to be precise, is no longer a debate.
Unfortunately, this game has the smell of "L" about it. The Yankees cannot get a timely hit when they need it and appear to be in one of those batting slumps that they periodically go through, since the middle of the Toronto series.

It is a tough loss, yes.
But we will pay you back.... Maybe later this year.

Probably this was the first time Okajima/Pappelbon combo really blew up the lead like this.

But I think Matsuzaka did OK, hung in there tough.

You're absolutely right, thomamon. I am . . . ashamed.

Yeah, I noticed when I voted in that other thread that you were the only one voting for a Yankees sweep (you have since been joined by another faithful fan).

At least our offense looks way better than the last time, doesn't it?

Hinske collides with Posada on a clean play at the plate, Posada gets clobbered but holds onto the ball, the Boston fans cheer Posada when he gets up and stays in the game. That's great baseball.

Yep, that was one big bang... I don't think I could stand up to that sort of thing.

Good inning so far for the Sox.

Why didn't Posada apply the tag on the play at the plate? That was a weird thing to do as Ellsbury missed the plate to start with.

He probably wasn't sure what sport he was playing yet after that hit a couple of minutes before.

OK, this time I waited until the bitter end to comment, rooting for another fantastic finish all the way. 'Twasn't meant to be, alas.

So, we're even. Big game tomorrow, then. Can't wait.

Just a note: If that game was for the Cy Young Award, it looks like Beckett wins.

Tom, check your PMs

Well, I called the Yanks taking 2 out of 3 with them losing the Wang game. Hopefully, I was right

With the Tigers winning, the lead could be down to 2 1/2 games

Sigh...

I guess Beckett was a better pitcher yesterday.
Now we head to the 3rd one, Clemens-Schilling match up!
