Looks great. Glad it worked for you.

That moustache makes me want to go watch Smokey and the Bandit somehow...

Deft, did you get the hair template stuff I did? How's it working?

Face pack idea

Hey Chredwdew,
I'm not trying to hijack your thread or anything, but your idea gave me an idea (funny how that works sometimes). Rather than spending all the time making a complete player, why not make different layers for the players. Kind of like a Mr. Potato head doll for OOTP.
If we started with a face pack of heads only, they could be combined with Lucas718's MLB templates for a league. Bobble is also working on a fictional league (which looks great) that they could be plugged in to. Down the road we could even work on uniform templates for some popular fictional nicknames as well.
I would imaginge that we all have quite a few "heads" already done for our own online and solo leagues, so it probably wouldn't be much more work than gathering and renaming the heads. Before I got going I was wondering what guys like you, Deft, Bobble and the other people that use the "Face Gen" style pics thought. Would it be too complicated?

I'm attaching some "heads" to give you an idea...it actually looks scary like this.....

Yessir, Officer, that's him -- two from the left!

Sounds like a great idea. Most of the heads I've done were made to fit into Deft's template. I'd love to see a batch of heads put together that anyone could plug into the template and whip up a new player in seconds.

I'm also working on a few facial hair layers for Deft's templates that could make the process even easier.

This was my intention from the beginning.

By the way, I have started incorporating Bobble's hair.

That's great. They would definitely need to be uniform in style (ie. fit deft's template). If your new hair template works well, and Deft's examples show it does, there is no limit. We could probably very easily have 1,000 plus faces right now. When you factor in other layers such as hair, glasses, etc., you can fill a league with pictures for quite a few years.

Being slightly anal retentive (anal reluctant?), how EXACTLY are we doing this? I'm assuming it's going to be in the photoshop format, yes? How many layers are practical for one file, 25? Each layer being one completed head ready for adding to the template? Where are we putting them? Anyone?

Definitely in photoshop. 25 layers sounds good (although I am far from a photshop expert). I'll be going to a cable modem next month, and I would be more than happy to organize the files. Unless someone else wants to get started sooner. I was thinking we could start making our sets of 25 and when we have about 1,000 or so total, we could make it available (add it to sites that already have Deft's template). How does that sound?

25 sounds good and correlates with team size. We might be running low on disk space (OOTP site league) but the location could be any of the download sites (ike Joe's). I don't have a ton of saved head shots because I have Facegen but I do have some 15 headshots that I have from before I got Facegen.

I think we're talking about using FaceGen faces -- at least I am.

Yeah, we're talking about Facegen. I think Deft actually has the full version, and doesn't have to use the screen capture function. He can just save the face in the program.

Here's my first try:

I'll probably make some in my players league. If not, all. Hopefully, I'll learn quickly. Thanks deft and chrew.

Looks good, pat. I like that uni.

OK, guys, I've got almost 50 heads suitable for use. I've packaged up the first Bag O' Heads and am about to ship it off to JoeRock's site.

Pat, looks good. One thing I wanted to do was change the face in the template to be the generic face that pops up in Facegen so you can just match her pose to the one in the template which might make that easier.

Any examples, Bobble?
