I have yet to use any online or multiplayer settings in OOTP (or most of my games for that matter). So this wouldn't bother me when the first patch comes out.

Here's a question for ya:

If an Entrepreneur opens a retail business of oh lets see selling computer baseball games. And let's say he has umm 224 customers and 202 want him to sell the product a certain way and 22 want it another way. Whom do you think that he will cater to?

Since alot of people are giving their self centered opinion i'll give mine. I will only play in live H2H league(s)

To me a sim league is a waste of my time.

The 25 (so far) that have voted for waiting have to really be hating democracy right about now...

Well, let's see if I can get this reply in under the wire.

I voted "No" myself, but not because I'm interested in the H2H feature. Since getting in H2H only adds a week or so to the release time, I don't find waiting another week, or even two, to be excessive in any way.

Frankly, I've been expecting to see OOTP6 out around the end of April, given the late start on it due to ITP and the new statistical engine and features. I considered that to be an entirely realistic appraisal, much more so than the folks expecting the game to be out in time for MLB's opening, or shortly thereafter. So, a release before the end of April strikes me as a bonus.

The other aspect of keeping H2H in the first release is that the extra week it'd take to get it fully done means an extra week of general beta testing for the game. I'd rather have as many bugs as possible found and squashed before the release, and every extra day in testing helps in this regard.

My two cents worth.

I would like the game now as I play alone but I have one concern.

The concern is if there is a major problem with the game thet needs to be patched and we can't get it because all the programming time is being spent getting the H2H ready.

What then?

We would have to wait a week or so for the H2H and then another span of time just to be able to play the game.

I really love the game and can't wait, but I thought I would play Devil's Advocate and voice this concern.

I doubt there would be a major problem with the game. Right now I just want them to take their time with H2H........that is the only feature I don't want them rushing. Get the game out if need be and take your time. I'v waited since version 4 I can wait a few more weeks.

But I will predict there will be some clowns in the future posting

"hold off on H2H and get this fixed"! Count on it.

Excellent point, I just brought up the same issue with somebody else a little while ago.

Plus, we don't even have 300 votes yet. Majority or not, the fate of OOTP6 should not be decided upon just by the people that browse these forums.

How about sending out an email to everyone that pre-ordered and getting their opinion? Not to offend anyone, but the decision, if left up to us, should be decided on people that already paid for the game knowing that H2H would be included.

I don't remember anything about OOTP being about democracy anyway.

It's in.

I'm going to pretend that I had something to do with the thread being reopened and it's nice to know that someone of some importance cared what I had to say.

I just read this entire thread. That's 15 minutes of my life I won't get back....

BTW, my vote is release without H2H as that isn't something I'm planning to use.

All things being equal, I would see the game sooner rather than later. Heck, I've been cheaking this board so often I'm developing an obsesive compulsive disorder! <twich-twich>

However, all things are rarely (if ever) equal. So, I'll do the only thing sensible and toss it back to those infinitely wiser and more knowledgble than I:

Markus if you think it would be a good idea- do it. If not- wait. I trust your judgement over majority rules.

I play only my solo league, I'd only have time to play online leagues in the winter months, because of my job. So having head to head ability doesn't matter to me at all. I'd like to have it ASAP when it is fully tested and no bugs.
