Kyle Freeland had a nice bounceback game after his first start went so poorly.
He pitched the Jays to a 5-3 win over the Rangers.

WP - Kyle Freeland (1-1)
Save - Jordan Hicks (14)
LP - Andre Jackson (2-7)

Record - 43-30

The Red Sox lost so the Jays only trail by a half game.

In April we were told that Bryan Garcia was going to miss 3-4 months with shoulder inflammation.

We just got much worse news. He needs further surgery and he will be out for another eight months. He should be back for Spring Training.

But the second Miami hit was a home run and they beat Toronto, 2-0.

Sebastian Espino was named Player of the Week for the DSL.

For the Majors it was Miguel Andujar, Orioles & Freddie Freeman, Braves.

The Jays have fallen to #13 on the Weekly Power Rankings.

Clayton Richard has announced he is retiring at the end of the year.

Richard spent 11 years in the Big Leagues, but that last time was in 2019, when he started 10 games for the Blue Jays. Most of his career was with San Diego, but he also spent time with both Chicago clubs.

He signed a minor league deal with the Jays back in March, but couldn't make it back.
