The no-hitters against the same team has been done 3 times. They're Addie Joss (White Sox,) Tim Lincecum (Padres) and Justin Verlander (Blue Jays.) I'm honestly shocked that it's happened as many times as it has, especially since there was almost a century between Joss and Lincecum.

Wow thanks for the information. This year in the MLB (2021) no hitters are occurring every night with the shift and data, may happen in same year.

In this simulation it is a bit odd because there are 144 teams and 72 teams in each league and you only play "most" of the teams 3 times, and some "never", so Richmond has played Lubbock 6 times in 2 years and Grove got them both times. But that is why we love playing these games

Today features a big one hitter and a milestone homer.

Hank Gastright and the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Rome Thoroughbreds in Italy today 2-0 with a 1 hit shutout. Gastright fanned 9 batters and allowed just a double to Joe Leonard in the 7th inning. Gastright only walked 1 batter and improves to 5-4 on the season. Arizona is 40-19 and in a second place tie with the Austin Donkeys in the NL West trailing the surprising Albuquerque Blackbirds by 2 games. Jesse Burkett had the lone RBI in the game for Arizona.

It was a big day at the park for Texas Rangers outfielder Del Ennis as he socked his 300th career homer in a game where Texas lost to the Wall Street Black Cats 26-10. Ennis hit the 3 run homer in the 9th inning off of Wall Street reliever Diego Castillo. Ennis has played his whole career with the Rangers who are struggling at 29-31 in the middle of the pack in the AL West.

Tom Glavine had his A game today as the he tossed a one hit shout in a game where the Chicago White Sox defeated the Bakersfield Red Aces at home by the score of 13-0. Bill Friel hit 2 homers for the winning team and drove in 7 runs as he now has 29 homers and 61 RBI's on the season. Wes Schulmerich had the only hit for Bakersfield in the pounding. Glavine fanned 7 and walked 2 in the masterful outing. Eric Davis added 2 hits and 2 RBI's as well.

It was a landmark day for Casey Stengel as the curmudgeon hit his 300th homer of his career for the Buffalo Bisons as they beat the Spokane Gangsters on the road 8-5. Stengel socked 2 blasts in the game, the second one off of Eduardo Rodriguez was the magical #300. Stengel has hit all of his homers while playing for Buffalo. He drove in 5 runs in that monumental game.

And just like real MLB 2021, the no-hitters keep coming as Mark Prior tosses one for the Caracas Toros over the Nassau Stringrays at the Atlantis Hotel. Prior was brilliant striking out 13 batters and the only thing that separated him from perfection was walking the diminutive Rich Coggins. Willie Stargell slugged a 3 run homer in the first inning and that was all the offense Prior needed in this game. Jim Greengrass had a nice 3 hit game as well. Caracas has a colorful team with Stargell, Pete Rose and Lebron James who all mauled Prior after the game. This was the 8th no hitter pitched this season and first ever for Caracas and first time Nassau ever got no hit. Will be hoping the real Mark Prior can stay healthy in this simulation as he is in his rookie season and is 5-4.

Kirby Puckett extended his hitting streak to 27 games today as the Seattle Mariners blanked the Bogota Broncos 7-0 behind Nelson Figueroa's 9th win of the year. Puckett is hitting .341 on the season with 15 homers and 45 RBI's, now in his 7th season all with Seattle.

Lastly, NL Midwest leading Tulsa Rattlers lost their closer Paul Masterson for 4 months with shoulder inflammation. The Injury took place in an 11 inning loss to the Montreal Anchors. Tulsa is now holding on to a narrow 2 game lead in the division over the Memphis Cougars.

The players of the week have been announced.

The American League award this week goes to Frank Baker of the Des Moines Jaguars. Baker hit .536 this week with 5 homers and 14 RBI's. Des Moines has slumped a bit but still sit in 2nd place in the AL Midwest but they are now 8 games behind the streaking Minnesota Twins.

National League award for the week went to Yoan Moncada of the San Diego Padres. Moncada goes 14-27 with 4 homers and 9 RBI's. Padres are having an off year in 9th place in the AL Pacific but Moncada has 25 homers and a .354 average

Dusty Miller of the Los Angeles Dodgers extended his hitting streak to 25 games but then had it stopped in a 4-3 win over the Riverhead Racers.

The Orlando Alliance announced today that hockey star and catcher Patrick Laine will retire at the end of the year at 37 years old. Laine has 192 career homers, most of which were hit between 2020 and 2024 with the Chicago White Sox

Lastly, the Minnesota Twins found out one of their key relievers in Matt Bowman is done for the year with a torn flexor tendon. Bowman was 3-0 with a 2.31 ERA for the AL Midwest leading Twins. The injury occurred in a 5-2 win over the Branson Jackals.

2025 - Report #36

Today was a huge day for Steve Lombardozzi with 6 hits in a game for the Dayton Mud Hens as they smacked the Dublin Outlaws in Ireland by the score of 14-2 in the battle of first year teams. Lombo goes 6-6 and drives in 6 runs in the beating. Dayton also got 3 hits each from boy band legend Nick Lachey and Taylor Douthit. Kevin Romine had a 3 hit game as they torched Dublin.

Brooklyn Brawlers got real bad news as they lost their third baseman Hubie Brooks for the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Brooks had 45 RBI's this year and was breaking through after being acquired from the Louisville Bats. The injury occurred in a 3-0 road win over the Rome Thoroughbreds in Italy.

To add insult to injury the day earlier Brooklyn lost Jerry Reuss for 6 weeks in a 4-0 win over Rome. Reuss was 9-0 at the time of the injury and was diagnosed with elbow tendonitis. Brooklyn is 43-23 in 2nd place in the NL East just games behind the Riverhead Racers. They are hoping Eddie Kasco can fill in at 3rd base and Stan Thomas in the rotation.

Last note of the day is that Kirby Puckett extended his hitting streak to 30 games for the Seattle Mariners. This was accomplished in a 10-9 win over the Detroit Tigers.

A few trades and big games

Vince Vaughn, actor and first baseman for the Tokyo Alligators got a 5 hit game today against the Auckland Seadogs. Vaughn went 5-5 in the 29-3 thrashing in Japan and drove in 2 runs. Tokyo is improved in 2025 at 30-37. They got big games from Jeff Kent who went 3 for 3 and drove in 6 runs and Darren Bragg who had 4 hits and 5 RBI's Vaughn is stunned to be in the game this long "I got a call back in 2019 for open tryouts and went as a good, who thought I would be getting paychecks in 2025 for ball playing in Japan, my acting career fizzled after that bad role in True Detective.

Kirby Puckett of the Seattle Mariners saw his hitting streak stop at 31 games against the Dublin Outlaws, but Seattle won the game 1-0.

The Rochester Surge traded their second baseman Ryan Goins to the Jacksonville Beach Bums in exchange for prospect Bobby Sturgeon. Goins drove in 104 runs for the Las Vegas Snake Eyes in 2023 but struggled with the Mexico City Salukis last year and with Rochester this year.

Boston musician and recovering drug addict Eddie Saville had a big 3 homer game today as the Charleston Cheethas devoured the Van Nuys Arrows 19-3. Saville had not played much this year but went 4 for 4 and drove in 8 runs while Coco Laboy also hit a grand slam in the big win. Saville had been hit by a car and was in a wheelchair, got divorced and had a tough 2024 after driving in 105 runs in 2023.

Lastly, journeyman pitcher Connie Johnson will retire for the Auckland Seadogs at the end of the year at 41 years old. Johnson won 27 games between 2019 and 2020 for the Chicago White Sox but is hanging on way too long past his expiration date.

Troy Glaus of the San Antonio River Kings won the AL Player of the week award by hitting .560 with 3 homers and 16 RBI's. San Antonio despite great offensive player is at 34-37 on the year.

The National League player of the week award went to the unlikely Art Shamsky of the Moscow Battalion. Shamsky hit 5 homers and drove in 7 runs while batting .571 for the Russian based baseball team, who are 22-49 in their first season

It was a huge day for Eddie Murray as the legendary first baseman hit his 300th career homer for the San Francisco Giants. Murray gets the milestone homer in a 9-4 win over the Birmingham Hillcats in a home game. The homer by Murray was hit off of Zach Plesac of Birmingham.

The Toronto Blue Jays found today that they lost Reggie Sanders for the season with a torn labrum. Sanders was suffering from a sophomore jinx this year and was hitting .182, only a year removed from his 45 homers and .285 average season. The Injury occurred in a victory at home 11-4 over the Nassau Stringrays.

Frank Baker of the Des Moines Jaguars has been hot with a 25 game hitting streak.

2025 - Report #39

Anthony Rizzo had a huge game with 4 homers today as the New York Mets triumphed over the Charleston Cheetahs by the score of 18-8 in South Carolina. Rizzo went for 4 for 4 and drove in 8 runs in the game and crossed the plate 5 times. He now has 22 homers and 71 RBI's on the year. Davey Lopes and Jack Coombs added 3 hits each as well in the victory.

The NL Atlantic dominating first place Philadelphia Phillies lost Carlos Martinez for the season with a torn rotator cuff injury. He was 4-1 out of the pen this year and appeared in 30 games, so the Phillies will need to look to get those innings replaced. The injury took place in a 14-3 demolition of the Paris Swingers.

The Jones Beach Jets made a decent trade today to acquire Pepe Mangual and Mike Warren from the Fargo Horseman in exchange for a few prospects in Pee-Wee Wanninger, Clete Thomas and Mike Griffin. Jones Beach has surprised many with a winning record in their 2nd year and Mangual is an energy player that can field well.

2025 - Report #40

Cy Young was on fire and tosses a no-hitter for the Baltimore Orioles as they beat the Lubbock Brigands 7-0. Young fans 16 batters in the game and it is his first career no hitter as he has continued to improve each season. Tony Perez homered and drove in 3 runs and Luke Voit drove in another 2. Ironically the only walk by Young was to Larry Sheets (IRL Oriole). It was the second no hitter in Orioles history as Eppa Rixey accomplished that feat in 2021 against the Toronto Blue Jays. For Lubbock, it is their 3 time already they have fallen victim to the no-no but first time it wasn't the Richmond Gamecocks or Lefty Grove. Losing pitcher for Lubbock was Bucky Brandon who has a no hitter under his belt this season.

Spider Clark kept it in high gear today with 5 hits and hit for the cycle for the Richmond Gamecocks in their 12-1 bashing of the Mississippi Crew in Jackson. Clark goes 5-5 for Richmond and drives in 2 runs as the first place Gamecocks keep a 2 game lead over the San Juan Storm in the AL Atlantic. Henry Rodriguez and Lyle Overbay had 3 hits each as well, while Jacob deGrom had a strong 9 strikeout performance.

The Columbus Barracudas lost a key player for the season in Wally Moses who went down with a torn posterior cruciate ligament in a game against the Beijing Airhogs in China where Columbus lost 2-1. Columbus will use Todd Dunwoody now in centerfield as they are having a solid second season at 38-37

Also out for the season is John Doyle of the Calgary Fusion. Doyle had been eating up innings for the Fusion this year and is gone due to a damaged elbow ligament that occurred in a game against the Tokyo Alligators in Japan. Tokyo won the game in 11 innings by the score of 5-4.

2025 - Report #42

American Player of the week this week goes to Bogota Broncos rookie Tom Carey. Carey goes 10 for 21 with 5 homes and RBI's. He was a 6th round pick that has emerged this year in Colombia with 21 homers. Being from Brooklyn he is far from home. Bogota is 35-41 and tied for 8th place in the AL Midwest

John Olerud continues his hot hitting winning NL Player of the Week for the very surprising Albuquerque Blackbirds. Olerud hits .667 with 5 homers and 14 RBI's this week and is now hitting .345 this year with 70 RBI's. Albuquerque leads the NL West with a 55-21 record and has an 8 game lead over both the Arizona Diamondbacks and Austin Donkeys.

The Foxwoods Colonials lose their ace pitcher Walker Buehler for 6 weeks with elbow inflammation. He suffered the injury in a game where the Detroit Tigers destroyed them 10-1 at Grand Pequot Tower. Buehler is 10-4 on the year with a 1.95 ERA. Foxwoods is 40-36 in 5th place in the AL East and 9 games out of first. Dakota Hudson has been recalled to take Buehler's spot

Frank Baker continues to be one of the best ballplayers around and he extended his hitting streak to 30 games today as the Des Moines Jaguars defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-1 at home. Baker got a hit but it was David Ortiz and his 2 run homer that gave the Jaguars the edge.

Lastly the San Jose Skeeters lost their closer Steve Roser for 2 months with a torn bicep. Roser had 12 saves for the 2nd year club before doing down in an 8-7 surprise victory over the St Louis Cardinals on the road. San Jose is 29-47 this season. San Jose manager John Morrow has said that Sergio Santos will take over the closer job with Roser out.

2025 - Report #43

The Utah Saints almost had their first ever no hitter as Noodles Hahn was one out away when Jose Peraza had a dead infield hit to break up the no-hitter for the San Antonio River Kings in the Alamodome. Hahn fanned 14 batters in the game in which Utah won 11-0. Gregg Jefferies had 4 hits and Yasiel Puig drove in 3 runs to carry the Saints to victory.

Frank Baker saw his 30 game hitting streak come to an end in a loss to the Cleveland Indians as the Des Moines Jaguars fell 7-0. Hugh Bedient pitched the 3 hit shutout for the Indians as Alex Escobar drove in 3 runs for the victorious Tribe.

2025 - Report #44

Today was the start of some trades

The Miami Marlins sent 2B George Cutshaw to the New Orleans Zebras for SP Dock Ellis. Ellis packed up his LSD and was happy to head out of Bourbon street, he was 7-3 this year for New Orleans and won 39 games over the past 3 seasons. Cutshaw heads to the Big Easy after hitting .315 in limited duty this year as he was blocked in Miami by Dustin Pedroia and Arky Vaughan in key infield positions. Said Ellis of the trade "When they called I already thought I was in Miami or not sure if it was Shangri-La, I was half a blotter into my trip"

In another trade the first place Minnesota twins bolstered their pitching staff today acquiring Buck O'Brien from the Columbus Barracudas in exchange for Ed Sprague Jr and Tony Boeckel. O'Brien was 9-5 on the year for Columbus and is a huge shot in the arm for the Twins who are going for it this year as they have a daunting 60-19 record in the NL Midwest and are 5 games ahead of the Des Moines Jaguars. Twins already have a fearful front 2 of Mike Smith and Gus Krock. Columbus is 39-40 and have made decent steps forward this year so the trade is really to get 2 offensive bats for an arm.

Three more trades to report as we are now in that trading part of the season

The Fargo Horsemen trade the much traveled Reggie Cleveland to the Foxwoods Colonials in exchange for Dakota Hudson and Bill Lexton. Cleveland's value has been in being a Swiss army knife kind of pitcher who can start, or pitch in forms of relief. He was actually an all star in 2023 for the Los Angeles Angels. Cleveland will be in the rotation and trying to full the shoes of Walker Buehler as they are 43-38 and 11 games back in the AL East. Dakota Hudson now lives up to his name and pitches in North Dakota.

Gene Clines was a bit dismayed hearing the news that he was traded by the New York Mets to the Boise Parrots in exchange for Randy Kutcher and Taylor Duncan. Clines had a .315 average over 6 plus seasons with the Mets and enjoyed the Big Apple and had to ask where Boise was. Kutcher was used sparingly by Boise and will be a 4th outfielder for the Mets. Mets currently are in 3rd place in the NL East trailing their rival Riverhead Racers by 2 games while Boise is in 2nd place in the NL West and they are behind the Albuquerque Blackbirds by 7 games.

In the last key trade of the day, those first place Albuquerque Blackbirds acquired relief help in the name of Kyle Snyder from the Mexico City Salukis but gave up mainstay starting pitcher Jason Marquis who was buried in AAA this year with Boise but is already been slotted in the rotation for Mexico City. Mexico Ctiy has struggled this year at 38-43.
