Also, a Mets reliever that never got a decision in MLB, but *did* hit a double!

He also played in Coors Field. Sorry but i am ![]() Walker may have a few more awards, but Helton actually has better stats. Walker played with the Expos starting his career, but he really didnt start hitting them OOTP (pun intended) until he got to COL.

My favorite Met of all time. To all patients and staff, please clear the hallway. The "Doctor" is making his rounds. Dwight Gooden: "Take three strikes and call me in the morning!" All rise! The "Chairman of the Board" has now called this meeting to order. RIP Whitey Ford!

The only player in ML history to hit a Grand Slam on Opening Day twice, in 1978 and 1980 ... the latter a walk off shot with two outs in the 9th

The man! The legend! Daniel "Dan The Man" Hall!
Also, Carlos Beltran, some outfielder guy that has some history with the Mets.

Dick Allen
Dick Allen. My favorite all time Phillie. One of the most violent swings in baseball. In his time nobody hit the ball harder. The legends will all tell you.
And that's a 40oz bat and on occasion a 42oz. Just for fun. Here is Gary Sheffield doing his Dick Allen impersonation. |

Your yearly reminder that Barry Larkin first wore #15 with the Reds when he came up in 1986

Jerry Grote One of the top catchers in Mets history. Dustin Pedroia Hall of the Very Good? Absolutely! Hall of Fame? Perhaps. He was a heck of a player for the BoSox!

Off topic a bit. The anticipation of 22 reminds me of waiting for an album release of a favorite band. For me it was UFO and Rush.

Only three Mets ever wore #14, which was retired when manager Gil Hodges died just before the 1972 season. The least famous of them might be Ron Swoboda, who only wore the number in his rookie season before changing to #4. (Ken Boyer is the third Met wearing #14)

Well, I will put Gil Hodges in here since Westheim took Mr. Swoboda above. How can you not have Ernie Banks here in this position? "Let's Play Two!"
