Conway Perfect
The 4th No hitter and 2nd perfect game of the year has been pitched by Pete Conway of the Los Angeles Dodgers at home against the Honolulu Riptide. Conway retired all 27 batters and Angel Bautista's 12 homer of the season broke a 0-0 tie to give LA the 1-0 win. Ham Iburg the #2 pick overall has been stellar for Honolulu and took his no hitter deep into the game as well with the one mistake to Bautista

Beckett dominates in No HItters
The Sacramento Bees win a 1-0 game against the Boise Parrots as Josh Beckett pitches a no hitter. This was the 6th no hitter of the season and first in Sacramento history. Sacramento's lone run comes off the bat of Chris Basnett as Ryu was very tough for Boise too

Mulder Flawless
Mark Mulder was flawless in pitching a no hitter for the Toronto Blue Jays on the road at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox. Mulder fanned 9 batters in the game as the Blue Jays pulled to within a half game of the first place New York Yankees in the AL East.
This is now the 7th no hitter of the 2022 season, and the first ever for the Blue Jays.... Also marks first time that Boston has been no hit. |

After 57 games in the league, Tate Redinger was putting his thoughts on paper, this is his latest diary register
It has been over 2 months and I have been on the major league roster all season for a full 57 games. If I said it was fun, I would be lying. The hangover of making a major league baseball team slowly reverted to feeling inadequate by being a bench warmer. I never get to play much and because of that I have no confidence, when I get to the plate I think failure. In my limited at bats I struggled to get over .200 and this team is really bad. We are in our third season and we are 18-39 and not much better than the new teams in the division in Guadalajara and Nashville. The fact that we are a bad team just accentuates my lack of self worth. I get that John Meister should be playing every day and Roberto Clemente has hit consistently but Chick Shorten has not done anything spectacular. Our pitching is very poor, outside of Jonathan Papelbon you can't bank on any arm we have. Personally, Des Moines is not a bad place it is more like a city with a few blocks and then a rural surrounding, something I can't relate to. The people are nice, but the fans don't really show up for our games. I have been friends with Tony Clark and Jim Campbell and get along with everyone but the travel is crazy, you don't feel grounded. We play 3 games at home then we fly to some other city. It is hard to put the uniform on, only to take it off without playing. Looking at things from a positive lens, I have been on the team all year, did not get demoted and Gohran has enough confidence to put me into the game at critical junctures. We are not going anywhere this year for sure we are struggling to catch Mexico City in the standings, so why not give me a chance. I hope they trade Chick as he really does not help us much and he could help a contending team off the bench. Having seen a lot of the teams around the league, there is a lot of talent around, so not surprised there will be two more expansions over the next 2 seasons so I could end up starting somewhere if some other team drafts me. Don't get me wrong I like Iowa and I like the organization but it seems that I have been brought here just to make other players better and I have a career I think I can do something. If you told me 2 years ago that I would be major league ballplayer I would have laughed, but I am acclimated and I see that I belong. I just need a chance to play. As for the social scene, Al came to visit me once. He told me to hang in there. Brandon was out for 2 nights, he was bored. The fun part of being in Iowa is that all political eyes come to this state. Joe Biden has a good approval rating in 2022, but he did not cave in to the radical left. So it was no surprise that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced her run for president and she came here and saw a game Gohran introducted me and Alex Arias as the team New Yorkers but I can't relate to a city girl. Still she seemed like a nice person. The Republicans have descended on the state, with Donald Trump Jr, Tom Cotton, Nikki Haley and Iowa's own Joni Ernst already running for the big seat. Ernst goes to all of our games, I don't talk politics I just am around it. As for women, I have met a few girls out at night but I really am down on myself so I am not in that game at all. I hope things turn around soon for the team and for me. |
