Good luck with him. I hadn’t been really patient but I changed my scheme and had no room for him so might as well move on.

For some reason, the game seems to be hardwired to oppose changes. Switch the #1 and #2 hitters and the entire lineup suddenly can't hit for a week or two. Insert a new pitcher in the rotation and they all go flat. Maybe it is just confirmation bias, but I'm now afraid to make any changes mid-season.

This was in reference to there being no posts, not Delahanty and Niagara Falls. Oops.

Sorry, I got busy this afternoon and forgot to post the standings.

Here's an early evening update. Again this week, every division is at least interesting and some are downright tight.

Going from a .680 winning percentage one month to a .214 the next month is the largest swing I've seen in PT! Incredibly frustrating luck... At least the pirates are back on the winning ways with a .640 so far in June.

I really did enjoy the tight way they played. Just did not enjoy the losing part of it.😩
I tried something similar before with a defense-first team. Amazing gold gloves but my offense slumped too far. Finding that sweet spot is ever the challenge! I lean towards offense over defense these days with too many good pitchers out there.

Breakers have had a challenging first half with a strong rotation ( 2nd in conference SP ERA) and a problematic bullpen (dead last in BP ERA). I've used over a dozen different arms from the bullpen trying to stop the bleeding. Out of options now and this group will either sink or swim. Last year, the pen was my strength that carried me to the play-offs. I love that there is always a new unforeseen challenge to manage every week!

I guess I do too. It is frustrating at times, but I think that is what keeps me coming back.

The Gold Gryphons have learned a valuable lesson so far this year. When you think you are the big *%#& on the block, and move into a bigger neighborhood, you learn quickly from the big boys that you aren't necessarily all that...

... four straight division titles and strong playoff runs aren't meaning much right now!

Atabakin... you and your Virginia BeachBums can get the heck outta town now. Good riddance to you!! Actually I guess we were technically in your town. But you aren't very gracious hosts. And who the heck is this Johnny Rigney 1-hitter jerk?

My Blue Gryphs were on a nice little 5-1 stretch and sitting on top of the league until hitting your town, and now you've messed everything up on us with that sweep.

Glad we won't be seeing you again at least until playoffs.

I can't agree more. The back and forth is tremendous and pitching was rock solid for the most part.

Sadly, it happened to the Base Stealers as well in the 3 month span.
Almost like some server hiccup happened and messed up both teams:
Base Stealers: 20-8 to 9-18 to 14-13
Silver Pirates: 17-8 to 6-22 to 16-12

We know how it feels. They modeled this part of the game way too well. Bullpens are so unpredictable. Just imagine we had injuries as well.
In regular play I always manage to lose my top guy to long term injuries.

That reminds me...playing OOTP20 after Perfect Team will be tough. I am so used to high stuff and 70+ movement. Or 80-90 contact guys.

I had never even heard of the guy before PT! I can't for the life of me figure out what he did in 1942 to be a "Record Breaker"... he made 7 starts in his card year!
