J.D. Martinez slugs 2 HR in game 162 and gets 60 HR for the season in bronze league.

The free-to-play Gold Saucer Wonder Squares went 76-86 in P404. I'm thrilled with that showing given the competition. I also am slowly building up some position experience for my players, which should pay off in the long run.

Training new players in Perfect is so tough. I've been trying to train Jose Bautista at SS, where he will get to around 70, but he's only at 58 now and so far he's put up -15.8 ZR with 16 errors during his career at SS (131 games). This training has probably cost me several games.

I've never watched a game in PT so I decided to try that out. My team had a 4-3 lead going into the bottom of the 9th and Ojeda gave up a lead-off single. Bob Boone came up next and hit a walk-off 2-run HR to win it for San Jose. Ugh!

But it was a great season overall and fun to follow. Wait 'til next year!

The Hungary Hungry Hippos finished in 1st in their division again. We will see if they can go any deeper into the playoffs this time.

I think my Diamond League Mike Trout just won his 4th consecutive MVP, 4th consecutive Silver Slugger, and 2nd consecutive Gold Glove in LF (his only 2 full seasons there).

BLUE GRYPHONS - PERFECT 407 - 88-74 - Won the division. Our toughest year in Perfect yet. It was win the division or don't see playoffs. Thankfully hung on to win it by 2 games. Player stats stunk this year for some reason, and our road record (37-44) was awful. Thankfully we played at a .630 clip at home. Biggest disappointment was Lindor batting .179... he's been great in years past. In fact the team was 13th in BA. None of our team stats except steals (2nd) and HR (3rd) and a couple pitching categories showed why we won the division. This team is coming off back to back WS appearances and 1 title, so disappointing regular season followed hopefully by getting hot at the right time.

GOLD GRYPHONS - DIAMOND 365 - 94-68 - Won the division. Christian Yelich won the league batting title with a .320. Brett Saberhagen led the league in wins after he went 21-4 with a 2.48 ERA, and should be a strong contender for the Cy Young. JD "Just Dingers" Martinez won the HR title after he slugged 33 with 97 RBI, and Gavvy Cravath 32/95. The bullpen seemed to be the weak link although on paper it shouldn't be.

GRYPHONS RED - DIAMOND 371 - 95-67 - 2GB the division leading Ravenna Roadrunners after dropping 3 of 4 to them in the final series. On to the wildcard game against the third place team in the division, which proved to be the tightest division in the league. All 5 starters won at least 10 games, with Smoltz going 16-5 to have the best record. Moved Corbin and Kershaw to the pen for an all-righty rotation, and both those guys did better in relief roles. Shockingly Lindor led the team with 23 homers. This Diamond league must have pitcher friendly parks in comparison to D365. Strangely the year end power rankings show this team #1, although the stats don't show it. Wild card game is always a crapshoot but I have Smoltz up so fingers crossed it isn't a one-and-done.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE PLAYOFF TEAMS!

I think your TROUT must be on the juice. My P407 Trout hit .228 this year with 24 dingers. No threat for the triple crown. He won a couple silver sluggers in diamond but hasn't been able to keep it going in 5 years at perfect.

My Perfect League Trout wishes he were as great as your Trout. LOL, just noticed how his SO% is almost the same as his OBP.

For sure. My main goal right now is to avoid relegation, so I start the season with people in their strongest positions, then if it looks like I have some cushion, I start transitioning people.

It helps that Trammell, Lindor, and Betts all have nice tools for different positions. I've also been swapping my outfielders to get them experience in all the positions (Walker, Snider, Griffey Jr.), and that's been fairly safe.

The Hoggs finished 101-61 and will play the Ryu Draganov (88-74) in the Division Series.

Socks Seybold finished with 34 homeruns, 1 behind Manny Machado of the Upland Highlanders. Larry Dierker went 18-6, and Dizzy Dean 17-11. Paul Waner and Ron Santo both had their worst seasons for me. Here's hoping they wake up for the playoffs. Will Harris had an unlucky season, his FIP more than 2 runs less than his ERA. Joakim Soria also had an ERA around 1 run worse than his FIP. I'm considering bringing in Will Smith as a cheap bullpen upgrade for next season. That's dependent on whether I have any PP left over after the offensive upgrade I want to make (Waner's position vs RHP is probably the one under threat).

My 2 LH lineup guys, Joe Medwick (.264/.296/.480, 16HR from 379PA), and Davey Johnson (.235/.296/.443, 16HR from 314PA) both performed just above replacement level, though OBPs under .300 are always frustrating. McReynolds (.261/.286/.442, 19HR from 570PA) also was on-base less than 30% of the time, but he did put up a +12.4 ZR at CF (efficiency 1.067 and range 3.28), which is the prime reason he's in the team.

Simmons had a much happier season this year than last, though after bringing Posey on board I've stopping training him at 1B.

I personally missed the second half of the Raccoons' first Perfect League season on the DL, but they trundled towards a 74-88 finish, 19 games clear of relegation (and almost as much out of the playoffs). Not feeling like much of tweaking right now, either, I'm just letting the points pile up right now.

Laurelton Corsairs win the wildcard 7-3 behind the strong pitching of Phil Niekro, a complete game giving up 3 runs on 7 hits while walking three and striking out four. Ralph Kiner hit a three run shot in the top of the sixth to expand the lead to 5-1. Trout & Sosa went back to back in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead down to 5-3 but it wasn't enough for Wichita.

Queens County Reavers pull out a wild wild card victory 8-7 over the Columbus Catfish with 6 runs in the bottom of the ninth. Manny Machado started the comeback with a run scoring single and the next hitter Tom Tresh smashed a two run double to make it 7-5. After Matt Carpenter's walk a bases clearing double by Chipper Jones sealed the victory.

The Casper Troopers lost 5-2 at home in the Wildcard game despite having league ERA champ Len Barker on the hill. A strong first season with a disappointing result in the playoffs in Bronze 242.

The Krathan Garrickes were swept out of the first round of the playoffs in B329, being out scored 15-2 by the Wildcard winners, the Cleghorn Kids.

The Peoria Flames won 110 games on the regular season and continued their winning ways with a 3-0 sweep against the Wildcard winning Los Angeles Dodgers in B295. The Flames won 10-0, 3-2, and 4-3 to advance to the next round.

Dropped 8 of my last 10 and 12 of my last 15 to fall from first to third in my division. So long, playoffs.

3 and out for the Hungry Hippos. I think that means I will stay in Silver again tomorrow. Three seasons. Three time division winner. Zero trips to the series.

Overall that makes 9 playoff appearances for all of my teams combined and 0 appearances in the Series.

Game one for my Peoria Flames in the Sub-League Series is coming up. I’m taking on a team with one of my favorite team names I’ve seen in PT, the Manila Envelopes. They were 102-60 on the year and I was 110-52. I won 4 of 7 against them on the regular season. I just need to do that again.

For game 1, I have Craig Swan (17-11, 3.59) going up against their Dennis Martinez (17-11, 2.54)

Down 2-1 in the Division Series, the Hoggs fought back to take Game 4 8-6. Now to wait anxiously for Game 5...

Wow! Craig Swan pitches 8 shutout innings and Tino Martinez hits a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th as the Flames take fame 1, 1-0. The Envelopes made a late change and ended up starting Roger Clemens in game 1.

Game 2 will now be Dennis Martinez vs. Dennis Martinez.
