1969 Pre Season

Well...this is the year.
Its 1969 and this is the year the Mets actually won it all.
So I had better win it all here.
The Amazing Mets must do it.
I have the pitching and i think if we stay injury free this year, i might have the hitting.

So everyone, on your feet and...

MEET THE 1969 NEW YORK METS!!!

Made a quick trade before the season starts.
What do you guys think?
Jim Palmer never really got it going with the Mets.
I know he will be awesome, but i have the best rotation in baseball anyway.
Now i have Pete Rose!
I hope his gambling days are behind him.

This team has started out on fire.
The Chicago Cubs are right behind us in the NL East, so i think i know who are rivals in this division are going to be.
The lineup is killing the ball and my HOF rotation is being masterful.
Its early, but i like what i see so far.
AMAZING!!

Fergie Jenkins is the POTM!
Hes done it again.
Striking batters out and taking control of the mound.
Fact is: Anyone of my rotation could be pitcher of the month.
Jenkins just got picked, thats all.
A 16-10 May month keep the Mets on top of the division.
But the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs wont go away.
This is going to be a race for the top two.

Phil Niekro is the POTM.
He pitched a no-hitter against the Cardinals earlier in the month.
Very proud to have him be a Met.
A 15-13 month put us a .5 GB of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
This is a very tight race for this season.
My team is doing well, but so is everyone else in the NL East.
The 2nd half of the season should be very interesting.

1969 Mets All-Stars

Lots of All-Stars on this team.
They could have taken anyone..but these guys were the best choices.
The Pitchers first.

July 1969

I do remember that there were some very good ball clubs in 1969.
Of course, the New York Mets was one of them and they are not disappointing.
Tied with the Chicago Cubs for the division lead after a 16-11 July.
Willie Stargell got hurt late in the month, but he still received BOTM!

August 1969

The bad news, the New York Mets had a .500 month for August.
The good news, were are still on top of the division.
The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs have been chasing us all year long and they just wont go away!
The Mets are back to full health as we go into crunch time.
Will we able to hang on?
Will the Pirates and Cubs finally leave us alone?
Will my pen run out of ink tomorrow?
