When I click to go into full screen mode the game crashes. The error message is that it cannot display

I have auto-aging set to "promote to pre-prime" after 5-10 fights. after 10 fights the fighter screen still shows everyone as "beginning." All fighters were created using RFG. I set-up the auto-aging before creating the fighters. All fighters have the box checked saying they have auto aging activated. I used the scheduler to run all fights. I set it up so they only fought once each time i ran it. So I ran auto-scheduler 10 times.
I know a few things are different so maybe I've misunderstood or checked a wrong box somewhere, but I set it up exactly how I set up my universe in 2.5 |

Mine is set at 1040x768 I do not have a 1024x740 setting. I went into control panel and went to display settings, I have four preset display settings; 800x600, 1024x740, 1280x720 and 1280x769. I am using a 32 inch television as my monitor. the current gives me the best display.

So 1024x768 is not in your list of modes in the control panel... thats your problem, your system does not support the default game mode. If you go into "My Documents/tbcb2013/config/settings.cfg" you can change the screen mode used for fullscreen. I would set it to 1024x740, there might be a little screen squashing but nothing to bad...

I'm certainly no expert, as the auto-aging thing confused the heck out of me, but have you tried a few more fights past the 10 to see what happens? These RFGers were created with the new game or imported from the old? Cap

A couple of questions.
I open a fighter's page and see he is retired and want to change his career stage from Prime back to Beginner. If I do that I get a career stage window or something and I can't quite figure out what I'm expected to do. I don't want to screw his ratings up by changing his career stage. [In the old version you could just reset the fighter back to Beginner. I never understood the need to have multiple career stages visible for historical fighters starting in version 2.5. In 2.0 you rated them in creation as they were when they were at their best, at PRIME. Logical. I expected you used auto-aging to advance them through the various career stages by starting them at Beginner. Simple. I had long discussions with members here who were stalwart advocates of the revised multiple-career system and never got a clear understanding of why this was necessary with historical fighters whose prime you could easily gage. Active fighters are different. You can't be sure if you're seeing their best.] Oh, yeah. Point 2. I'm in the fighters list. I set the group and division. I click on one boxer and check his stats. I click on the arrow at the top expecting to go to the next fighter in the group and find myself staring at a fighter from a totally different group, but the next in line alphabetically. This needs to be fixed. Cap

okay I imported my last game from 2.5 and ran 1 schedule of fights between my beginners and TC's. Sure enough a handful of my Beginners who hit their 6th fight advanced to pre-prime. I created a new group of beginners in 2.6 so I'll see if they advance in the imported game or not.
Edit: Not one of the newly created fighters aged Last edited by jerem77; 06-21-2013 at 03:33 AM. |

Send Paul a zipped copy of your saved game with a note explaining the problem.

Organization Rankings
Didn't see this mentioned, but the column for the fighters record in the organization rankings screen is too small and cuts off KOs. Can this be widened, or maybe even remove the fighter style column (boxer, slugger, etc) from that screen since that is really not a relevant field to ranking IMO?

Fight Cards
I found the Fight Cards file in the old game and tried to copy it to the new game. It appears that the file types do not match as the old cards would not open in the new game (trying to save myself some the work of having to recreate several fight cards). I was wondering if there is any way some could suggest a way to convert the files to the new format. Or perhaps, could a conversion utility be added. That would be heavenly

Fight Flow
With all my critiques of the new version, and I have many, the one thing that I love and makes me put up with the things I don't like, is the way the fights flow now. The extraneous play by play dialogue has been trimmed and now there is less dead air. I love this new "get to the point' approach and the fights are much more pleasant to play now. I went back to the old game because of its superior user interface, but watching a fight on the old version is so hard now. It would be nice to have the old functionality with the new game engine.

Another Auto-Scheduler issue
The delete function does not work correctly.
I set up 162 fights and after they ran I selected all though the edit feature, then clicked delete. I was prompted to verify I wanted to delete all 162 fights, I clicked yes, but only 1 fight deleted from the prior month when they all should have. This creates a minor inconvenience as the I then have to clear the auto-scheduler, which also clears all my options, which would have been retained if all fights could be deleted. |
