The second half of the double-header is Jim Clancy so it might get worse before it gets better.

The Blue Jays see .500 slipping away as the Orioles took both halves of the double header. This one was a 5-2 game. An Eddie Murray first inning homerun started them off and they never looked back. WP - Dennis Martinez (6-8) Save - Elias Sosa (16) LP - Jim Clancy (2-5) Record - 39-42 |

Oscar Gamble was a one-man wrecking crew out there today! In six plate appearances he blasted three homeruns and walked three times. He had 8 RBI and crossed the plate 5 times. The Jays beat the Orioles 14-1. Note: Al Woods got a two-run triple in the first but was forced to leave the game right after. We are awaiting diagnosis. WP - Mike Parrott (8-8) LP - Don Sutton (6-13) Record - 40-42 Last edited by rpriske; 05-08-2013 at 06:41 PM. |

The Blue Jays are at .500! It took a well pitched game by Pete Vuckovich and an offensive explosion as they downed the powerful Detroit Tigers 10-3. Oscar Gamble's 3-run blast led the attack with Dan Meyer and Matt Robinson also going long. Robinson extended his hitting streak to 13 games. WP - Pete Vuckovich (8-11) LP - Mike Krukow (10-2) Record - 42-42 |

The Blue Jays like their taste of .500 and don't want to stop there! For the second game in a row, Toronto topped the mighty Detroit Tigers. This time it was a 7-4 win behind a Rich Dauer grand slam and a strong pitching performance by Ed Whitson. WP - Ed Whitson (9-2) Save - Mark Clear (12) LP - Jack Morris (6-8) Record - 43-42 Last edited by rpriske; 05-13-2013 at 09:57 AM. |

The Blue Jays extended their winning streak to 5 games as they downed the tough Detroit Tigers 9-6. Mike Parrott wasn't at his best but Rick Baldwin was strong in relief and the Toronto bats did the best, behind big homers by Dan Meyer and Warren Cromartie. WP - Mike Parrott (9-8) Save - Mark Clear (13) LP - Roger Erickson (6-10) Record - 44-42 |

Mark Foster kept the Jays in the game while the power bats went to work. A big 3-run blast by Matt Robinson led the attack while Dan Meyer and Warren Cromartie also went deep, beating the Rangers 7-5. John Castino had to leave the game with an injury and we are awaiting diagnosis. WP - Mark Foster (7-3) LP - Len Barker (6-7) Record - 45-42 |

With that, the Blue Jays had stretched their winning streak to seven games, beating the Rangers 6-4. Jim Clancy kept them in it but it was Dennis DeBarr who went 3.2 innings of no-hit ball, walking only one. WP - Jim Clancy (3-5) Save - Dennis DeBarr (1) LP - Gaylord Perry (6-3) Record - 46-42 |

You could see the air come out of the Blue Jays when they fell behind. They never got back into this game after the Ranger grand slam and they lost 9-1. WP - Rick Wise (6-5) Save - Dick Pole (1) LP - Pete Vuckovich (8-12) Record - 46-43 |

John Castino was placed on the 15-day DL with wrist tendonitis.
John Howell was called up from Cornwall. Howell was the minor league part of the deal that brought Warren Cromartie from the Expos for Ron LeFlore and Jeff Byrd. Last edited by rpriske; 05-14-2013 at 09:42 AM. |
