It may not be a bad idea after looking at Ruth's stats ... possibly using him as a fifth starter or long reliever, whenever necessary (er, maybe not )... this way, will give the starters a much needed rest ... his bat may be best needed due to the lack of needed runs during close games ...

1918 Regular Season Game 47

Dutch Leonard masterful in Sox Win!

Dutch Leonard pitched superb allowing only 1 run and 6 hits with a single walk and needing only 105 pitches to complete the outing. Harry Hooper runs wild on the #16th ranked Catcher at throwing out runners. From his new lead-off spot in the batting order Hooper stole 4 bases. Some Guy named Ruth hit his 4th Homer of the year and he’s closing in on the League leader Gavvy Cravath and his 6 Dingers. The new complete Sox Lineup is set in stone barring someone being unable to participate. Ruth is however scheduled to sit out tomorrow’s game @ Cleveland in anticipation of his Starting game 2 of the 5 game series. He will however be available as a Pinch hitter and a late inning defensive replacement.

Ruth Rock Solid on the mound!

A solid day for Ruth pitching 9 innings with 1 ER and going 2-4 at the plate with a run scored. Harry Hooper steals his 18thbase to take sole possession of the League Lead. Several Sox Hitters are starting to wake up. Ruth was afforded the luxury of a 5 run top of the first to make his day a little less stressful and he needed only 107 pitches to get through the game. Ruth is expected to get the day off tomorrow or have a very short stint in the game to allow him to recover.

Next up another game @ Cleveland With carl Mays on the mound

It's not the game or my PC, it was an issue with a "Power surge" that shut my computer down and the game wasn't saved. My Lap top won't have that issue as it has a battery in it to use as backup power if that happens. It will be a non issue now as I’m on my lap top so it’s GAME ON AGAIN!

Ruth Gets 4th W, 5th HR

Cleveland's League park

Babe Pitched well and hammered a 2-run Homer to a Short RF Porch in Cleveland , League Park; known around the League as a Hitters park for LHB is even shorter than Fenway’s LF wall but has a 45’ Fence that Ruth had no problem clearing with his towering shot. Jean Dubuc continued his relief perfection with 1.2 scoreless innings striking out 2.
