MBBA enters 2nd decade

The MBBA (which started in the 1973 season) is now entering its second decade of play as we move into the 1980 season. We are a fictional baseball league that accepts a small amount of MLB defectors every season. The MBBA is a very active, "writing and participation" league with a strong ownership base. We ask that any new applicants work "behind the scenes" for a season or so. This way you get to know us, we get to know you, and then when the time comes to take over a franchise we are all comfortable!

I usually post here once every couple of seasons just to get some new people involved. We don't usually need to advertise for openings as we usually have a bunch of people hanging around as "vultures" waiting for franchises to open. Which is exactly the case right now. No teams are currently open but we're always glad to have extra folks hanging around, as fans, active participators, Assistant GM's, etc. There is usually a need for Assistant GM's if a team is not currently open. So feel free to join the board chatter, join the live chats and write any league articles from your current non-biased position.

We're happy to see any new folks stop in and would always welcome more. Stop by our FORUMS and introduce yourselves. Feel free to spend some time checking out our league, and feel free to become active. After you get a board ID created, please stop in HERE and tell us a little about yourself.

We hope to see some new faces around the MBBA!

MBBA has an opening

The MBBA is entering its 11th season now, and we have 1 opening, and no one to fill it at the moment. We are a fictional league with 24 teams that started in 1973. It is a writing league, with a minimum requirement that needs to be met for participation. The league itself if very, very active. The boards are active, with most every owner checking in once a day, and a good majority actively on the boards all day.

If you are interested, post an application in this forum http://www.mbba.ootp-online.com/ipbf...p?showforum=73

This is one of the elite, active fictional leagues out there. Our twist is we have defectors and "Scout an MLB'ers" coming over from MLB to join our ranks.

The California Crusaders are the open team. Perennial contenders in the Johnson League Atlantic Division, this is a fine team to take over.

This is a phenomenal fictional league with a rich, long history and super-active members. The writing element really keeps things interesting and you get to know the other owners a lot better.

MBBA has one opening.

The MBBA is a fictional league that started in the 1973 season. We are now over half way done with the 1983 seasons. It is a writing league, and has an increadibly active owner base. Come check us out, and certainly stop by our boards where you will see we are very active.

Fantastic league if you're looking for a real challenging league. The franchise that is open, the Montreal Blazers, was one of the MBBA's elite franchises for much of our existence. They got old, and are now going through a rebuilding phase.

We're looking for a long term, committed owner to return the Blazers to glory!

Did you come up with that all yourself, Joel?

Seriously, though, the MBBA is real competitive, has an incredibly solid core of owners and is just a lot of fun. Check us out.

Ummm. Lynchy also likes to post random pics of himself naked!

And we like the pickle dance (similiar to the banana dance seen here: )

We are not a flash in the pan league....winning elsewhere means nothing. Prove your worth in the MBBA.

Damn Joel, this a thread for an opening in an OOTP league, not for some snippet you'd see on a movie preview or something.

Why should you join the MBBA? Because it's a tough league, you'll be competing with some very solid owners. And by solid owners, I'm not talking about guys who just manage to kick down their lineup export three times a week. I'm talking about owners who are talented at building teams, contribute with various articles, and are a pleasure to hang out with in general. I can't begin to explain how many hours I've spent hanging out on the MBBA Boards just shootin' the breeze with these guys. Maybe that just makes me a dork, or maybe it means the guys in the league make it fun to banter with on the boards.

Yes, this is a fictional league, and I know that narrows the field of interested candidates down a bit. For all you historical buffs out there, we do have some MLB defectors that enter the MBBA every year, and we have "recruit an MLB" program that basically gives us the ability to snag an MLB guy who didn't pan out for whatever reason and see how he does in the MBBA. We also have the ability to create custom amateurs for the offseason ammy draft.

Basically, take a sec and give us a look. Pretty sure you'll like what you see.

The league is a ton of fun. It was my first online league ever, and if I had not joined it all those years ago I never would have stuck around in online leagues most likely.
