Really? Cool. That's a lot of logos. I think you're right then, circles will probably still be in for the reports and such.

dola,

How are the hats and unis colored? Are they white, gray, team colors? Can we modify them? Can we have home and away?

This FaceGen thing feels like its turning itno a mini-game... there's so much for just it.

Are we able to change the hat colors in game? Like if we don't like the computer generated design, are we able to change it ourselves?

Currently I've added the following additional colors to the team table:

- caps main color
- caps visor color
- jerseys main color
- jerseys secondary color
- jerseys pin stripes color

In the textures, there are only the colors red, blue and green. For the jerseys, OOTP automatically replaces red with "jerseys main color", blue with the "jerseys secondary color" and green with the "jerseys pin stripes color". This way you can easily define your own colors for the default caps and jerseys.

Additionally, you can create your own caps or jerseys textures for each team. You just copy the default textures, open them in a pixel graphics program, edit them and save them as "caps_teamname_nickname.png" or "jerseys_teamname_nickname.png".

Some like to see the jerseys in the player pictures, some like to see only the faces. Just because the picture size is always the same and when you give away half the picture for the jerseys, the face will be smaller, and so they will look more identically because there are less details. Some like to see the pictures from the left, from the right, or straight. So I'll add options today for "Facegen Angle" and "Facegen Zoom".

This is awesome, Andreas. This is quite a revolutionary step for OOTP.

First off, Andreas, thanks for all of the great work you're doing on this. FaceGen is not a necessity for this game but, boy, does it add so much to it.

In regards to the bolded: For us to create our own caps and jerseys we have to edit the default cap and jersey textures as opposed to having a .png that the game automatically 'puts over' the texture (does that makes sense?)?

The game uses a default texture for the caps and another one for the jerseys, which are being colored automatically according to the team color settings.
Additionally, there are the folders /ballcaps and /jerseys. There's a default texture in each folder. Copy that texture and name it caps_teamname_nickname.png (or jerseys_teamname_nickname.png for the jersey) and edit this new file. It will be used when you restart the game.

This way you can have different caps and jerseys for each team.
The /ballcaps and /jerseys folders are in the league folder, so the same team can have different textures in each database. But there are also /ballcaps and /jerseys folders in the /data folder, so each database would use the logos from that folder if there's no logo in the database-level folder.

Sounds complicated. But it's actually easy. I'm just not good in explaining it

Gotcha! You explained it well enough for me to understand (and I'm nowhere near as bright as a lot of people around here ). Thanks.

This is awesome!

Actually, I think it sounds very simple and is consistent with how other things work in OOTP.

The other amazing thing about this is that we are having an ongoing conversation with the man while he is designing this great feature!

Any update on hair/facial hair? Everything else about the FaceGen feature seems to be outstanding. I'd hate to have an entire league where no one has even a goatee and everyone has short, black Ronco spray-on hair. You'd never get a guy like this:

Real men don't wear long hair. *hides*

Seriously, we'll have facial hair, but no other hair.

Will these FaceGen pics be in png format? if so, I suppose a photoshop user could "add" long locks to someone's melon
