I have opened historical packs only in connection with completing the live missions. I think you get one with each league completion and one more for completing both leagues so 3 per account. Since I’ve completed the live missions with all three of my teams that’s a total of nine historical packs I’ve opened.
Of those packs of opened I only recall two cards that were decent. Pretty sure both of them were mid 80s relief pitchers. But decent. One of them was an OVR 86 Todd Jones who I’m using on the Barnstormers. The other one was 84 Kerry Wood for Annandale. I do recall that one of those packs I had three golds in it but the other two were not terribly useful. And when I added up the auction house price of the three cards it came to slightly over 5500 so if you’re buying a pack for 10K PP you’re still taking a loss on the pack.I also recall two other packs that had either an 80 or 81 in them, who I ended up selling off for just over 1000. That was before the FOTF missions of course! The Barnstormers got two middling low 80s out of two of the historical packs…84 Terry Moore and 80 Dode Paskert. Both could be used up to Diamond but not beyond I think.I did not sell them then but they might be worth something now. So after all this rambling the take away should be… Even though the results may be interesting, you’re probably not going to get your moneys worth out of buying a historical pack. I do not recall getting anything higher than an 86 out of those packs. Last edited by Charlatan; 07-22-2020 at 02:22 PM. |

That said, I do agree with your sentiment. The majority of the time you're gonna get a low-gold. Might be worth a little something now during FOTF, especially if you get one from the bigger teams yet to be released...but still, unless you're getting 5-figures for said gold, it's still not quite getting your money's worth. Thanks guys for your feedback.
Looks like I'll just focus on the AH instead of wasting PP on packs. |

Gold Update
Norwood who sat idle yesterday jumped to the top while the rest of OL beat each other up. Annandale who started the season at 0-6 put up a 7-3 yesterday, the best record in head-to-head play.
As the calendar turns to July in PT play: AC: Norwood has a 9.5 game lead in the East. The Diamonders had a 21-6 record in June. Asylum who got off to a good start had tough May and rougher June sit 6.5 back in the Central and 3.5 back in the Wildcard. Annandale is 7.5 back in the Central and after a rocky start put together a good June. In the NC: Brigadoon is leading the Central which also houses Coney Island and Krikkit who are currently third and forth in the division. Those two are in a battle for the wildcard. Right now Jefferson Valley is the only team in danger of relegation. |

Race Tightens in OL S250
Ewa Beach flew high and nearly caught front running Port Ruppert as the pace of play picked up. The race, however goes at least four or five deep, promising a furious stretch run.

Bronze update
Ft. Huachuca broke into the win column in OL-B202, surging into second place. The Buffalo Soldiers took 3 of 4 from league leaders, Ring Road. The Rams retain a comfortable lead.
Ring Road also retains a comfortable 10 game lead in non-OL action. The other four OL teams, however, are all flirting with elimination. Ft. Huachuca is just safe, with the Muse, Tortugas, and Impalers all last in their divisions and in a relegation spot at the moment.

Norwood still on top in Gold
Norwood was 5-1 yesterday in their six OL games to maintain their lead. The Diamonders have three OL games remaining which will be played today when the visit Annandale. With a sweep Norwood may very well clinch the crown early.
In PT play: Norwood at 70-38 leads the AC East by a comfortable seven games. In the AC Central Annandale is a half game back with Asylum 4.5 back. After a 17-7 start the Keepers have gone 31-51 I can see them getting hot and making a run at the division which is being led by a team that is one game under .500. In the NC East Bluffton had a rough July and is 7.5 back. Brigadoon leads the Central by 7.5 and along with Norwood have been the most steady OL teams in gold this week. Coney Island is in third eight back-once again OL games have killed them, 15-25 in OL games 43-22 against the rest. The Warriors are a half game off the second Wildcard. Kikkit is forth in the Central 11.5 back after having a sub .500 July. The War Robots are only 4 out in the WC. Jefferson Valley is in last place in the West and firmly implanted in the relegation zone. I shuffled the Rebels pitching staff around during the all star break and they have gone 5-3 since. |

Mundys, Chickens Pull Away a Bit in OL S250
Left Coast and Norwood have fallen six games off the lead with the chase heading into its last two months, as Port Ruppert still leads with Ewa Beach staying close. While there is still enough schedule left for the trailers, recent play suggests a two-horse race.

B202 update
Ring Road continues to lead OL B202 by a wide-margin, but Ft. Huachuca remains in contention. The road to the ring actually goes through Daytona Beach, as all of the Rams' and Buffalo Soldiers' remaining OL games are against the Tortugas. It's possible that the chase won't be over until the last 3-game series in Daytona.
The Rams' magic number appears to be 4. And despite having the most OL games remaining (12), Daytona Beach has already been mathematically eliminated. Meanwhile, in non-OL action, the Rams have seen their division lead shrink slightly, but they remain 8 games in front. And while the Impalers and Buffalo Soldiers have managed to make it out of the cellar in the NC East and AC West, respectively, all four of the Rams' pursuers are now in a relegation spot.

Iron 168
Hey, look! Iron is alive!
Cochise County has the lead, to state the obvious. In non-OL action, only Vlora is out of a playoff spot at the moment. Most of the individual stats leaders in the NC are OL players. |

Race Down to Port Ruppert,Ewa Beach in OL S250
The Mundys and Fighting Chickens continued their pace setting play and separated themselves from the rest of OL. As the teams head into the final month, Port Ruppert maintains the top spot, with their magic number at three.

Norwood Clinches Gold Crown
The Diamonders dropped their first two games yesterday to Annandale before Lefty Gomez held the Atom Smashers to one run on two hits over 6.1 innings allowing Norwood to salvage the last game of the series and give them just enough wins to clinch the OL Crown. I don't get to type this very often but the hottest team yesterday was Coney Island who tore off an 11-1 record.
As we hit the stretch run in PT play Norwood had an 11-15 August which saw them lose their lead in the A AC East. They are three games out of the lead and are pretty secure in the first wildcard spot. Annandale (.5 back) and Asylum (2 back) are alive in the Central. One of them will have to win the division to make the post season. Asylum looked like they were making the run I predicted yesterday but then dropped seven of their last eight games yesterday. Everything in the AC is happening in the Central. Brigadoon has three game lead over Coney Island. The teams meet four more times, the first meeting kicks off todays slate of games as the Warriors look to complete the three game sweep behind behind George Earnshaw while the Highlanders counter with Greg Maddux. The Warriors hold down the top wildcard while Krikkit is one game out of the second spot. Jefferson Valley seems to be heading to silver next week. |

Norwood Diamonders Logo
Had a problem when I tried to snip the logo for Norwood. It will look pretty fuzzy tomorrow with a crown. Please post a copy of the logo here.
I believe it is one of the PT generated logos, so, as an alternative, I have attached two suggested possibilities. I've tried to follow the basic design of the PT logo. The colors are the same. It is your choice. I just want your team to show it's best (least fuzzy) face tomorrow. Thanks. Also see second post below. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 07-25-2020 at 01:48 PM. |

I was probably influenced by the 1970's A's documentary on the MLB Network I watched a couple of weeks ago, I just went all Charlie Finley on the Jefferson Valley Rebels (the difference being the A's won three World Series in a row to the Rebels zero).
All diamond cards are in the auction house and my complete Gold tournament team is now my PT roster. The funds raised will build a team I am going to enjoy following regardless of how well they preform. The worst thing that happened to the Rebels was pulling a perfect card and selling it and trying to piece together a competitive team which was a miserable failure. I was sitting on 48K in PP I should be above 200K by the time all sales are final. |

I've added you to the master friends list. One thing, the - OL goes at the very end of your team name, after the nickname, i.e. Ciudad Trujillo Dragones - OL. Don't forget the + at the end of the abbreviation. Again, welcome aboard! |

Actually....
I was able to sharpen the image enough to get by. So, please pick which one you like. I guess I should number them so you can identify them. I just tried to post them and the placement will be different depending on the size of the window you view them in, so...
Number one is the new N with no diamond. Number two is the new N with the large diamond behind. Number three is the game logo. Number four is the new N with the small diamond in front. Thanks. Last edited by Stanley Kuppchaser; 07-25-2020 at 01:48 PM. |

That's fine. I just had a little trouble at first getting a sharp enough image, which is why I did the others. Also, they're fun to do. By the way, I assume your Norwood is the one in Ohio. Although Asylum is a fictional town, it is also in Ohio, although I've always imagined it to be a little northeast of Norwood around Loveland. That's because, when I was in the service, I went to military journalist school at Ft. Ben Harrison in Indianapolis. A classmate of mine was from Loveland and we'd go there every weekend. That was in 1972. I googled chili parlors in Loveland and I believe the Skyline Chili on Loveland Madeira Rd I got as a result is the same one we went to back then, though remodeled since then. I still remember the welcome sign: "Welcome to Loveland - the sweetheart of Ohio." |
