Not really. It seems to be from the Latin for Switzerland - Confœderatio Helvetica.

CHE is the three letter ISO code for Switzerland (although we've got SWI, and I would have thought SUI for Suisse would be more likely than CHE, but hey... )

in the patini sticker book for the tournament thats what they use minus the C...

not that Ive paid attention to how this came up in conversation.
