Season 2: Comeback Fighter of the Year (Silver)
Candidate #1:
Lightweight - Greg Haugen (Juggernaut) Even though Greg Haugen qualified for the Season 1 EOY Tournament, overall performance was disappointing. An early opening round exit confirmed this. Juggernaut believed in him and he has responded with a much better effort in Season 2. Hopefully Greg will fare better in this season's EOY Tournament carrying momentum from winning 4 of his last 5 bouts. He did manage to fight for the Lightweight Title twice, but was stopped both times. Greg Haugen heads inot the EOY Tournament as the #8 seed. Season 1 Record: 7-7-0 (1) / 0-1-0 (0) in EOY Tournament Opponents Average Rating: 5.57 Season 2 Record: 12-7-1 (7) Points Scored: 32 0-2-0 (0) Record in Championship Bouts Opponents Average Rating: 6.10 Key Victories: DQ-11 Carlos Ortiz (rated 11) |

Dave, just got home. I sent the files you requested to your email, but it looks like I'm late. Let me know sometime if I sent them wrong or not. I have no idea as to what XML is.

Season 2: Comeback Fighter of the Year (Silver)
Candidate #2:
Light Heavyweight - Yawe Davis (The Nobodies) Yawe Davis underperformed last season but The Nobodies decided to give him another chance. After a promising 2-0-0 (1) start, he hit a rough patch where he found himself losing 7 of his next 9 fights - including 3 unsuccessful Title shots. After his third failed attempt at the title, Yawe seemed to turn it around and finished the season strong, compiling a 4-1-2 (1) record. Yawe Davis heads into the EOY Tournament as the #6 seed. Season 1 Record: 6-7-1 (2) / 0-1-0 in EOY Tournament Opponents Average Rating: 6.14 Season 2 Record: 10-8-2 (3) Points Scored: 25 0-3-0 (0) Record in Championship Bouts Opponents Average Rating: 6.60 Key Victories: W-TKO7/W-TKO8 Bobby Czyz (rated 8) Draw: Prince Charles Williams (rated 8) |

Season 2: Comeback Fighter of the Year (Silver)
Candidate #3:
Heavyweight - Tony Tucker (Undisputed Champions) Tony Tucker's performance in Season 1 was mediocre at best. After only 3 rounds, he was traded from the Hebron Haymakers to the Undisputed Champions. Now after completing his first full season with the Champions, Tucker has proved to be an asset to the team. He rang up 12 victories against a higher level of competiton and even had 1 shot at the Heavyweight Title. Although losing, he lasted all 15 rounds. He is looking forward to being a spoiler in this season's EOY Tournament. Tony Tucker heads into the EOY Tournament as the #15 seed. Season 1 Record: 6-6-2 (3) / 0-1-0 (0) in EOY Tournament Opponents Average Rating: 6.42 Season 2 Record: 12-7-1 (9) Points Scored: 34 0-1-0 (0) Record in Championship Bouts Opponents Average Rating: 7.15 Key Victories: W-TKO5 Ken Norton (rated 9), W-DQ10 Tommy Farr (rated 9) Draws: Draw-12 Buster Douglas (rated 8) |

I just went back to page 21 and looked at his record from the Flyweight tournment. Romultiltus on the other hand I believe has all the records and such to complete his rankings.

Season 2: Comeback Fighter of the Year (Silver)
Candidate #4:
Bantamweight - Richie Sandoval (Juggernaut) Richie Sandoval had a dismal last season. Juggernaut decided to keep him around and he managed to put together a winning record this season. After losing his first bout, Richie went on a hot streak of 8-2-1 (2). Unfortunately, seemed to phone it in after that finishing with a 2-5-1 (0) mark down the stretch. He did fight for the Bantamweight Title twice but was TKO'd in both attempts. Season 1 Record: 4-7-3 (2) / 0-1-0 (0) in EOY Tournament Opponents Average Rating: 6.57 Season 2 Record: 10-8-2 (2) *1DQ* Points Scored: 23 0-2-0 (0) Record in Championship Bouts Opponents Average Rating: 7.30 Key Victories: W-U12/W-U12 Little Pancho (rated 9), W-M12 Jhonny Gonzalez (rated 8) |

Season 2: Comeback Fighter of the Year (Silver)
Candidate #5:
Welterweight - Jose Antonio Rivera (The Nobodies) After a lackluster first season, Jose Antonio Rivera reached the top of the Welterweight mountain when he captured the Title on his second attempt. Unfortunately for Rivera, life at the top was short lived, as a TKO loss in his first defense ended his reign. He did manage to pile up enough wins to make the EOY Tournament where he is scheduled for a rematch against CH-Floyd Mayweather Sr. - the fighter who took the Title from him. Jose Antonio Rivera heads into the EOY Tournament as the #16 seed. Season 1 Record: 5-8-1 (2) Opponents Average Rating: 5.92 Season 2 Record: 12-8-0 (6) Points Scored: 30 1-2-0 (1) Record in Championship Bouts Opponents Average Rating: 6.20 Key Victories: W-S12 George Costner (rated 8), W-U12 Curtis Cokes (rated 8) |

The 5 candidates for the Silver Conference Comeback Fighter of the Year have been posted.
Managers in the Silver Conference please send 3 choices rated 1-3 (1-highest, 3-lowest) to SAL. "Write-In" candidates are always welcome. *NOTE: There was really slim pickings in the Silver Conference for this catagory. By no means is that a reflection of the talent in the Silver, but it is a result of having very active managers who do not tolerate losing. It seems that the rosters in the Silver have turned over a bit more than the Gold, and therefore many fighters were not given a second chance to perform. This is the opposite of what I found when scouring for candidates for ROY in both conferences. There were a higher number of quality rookies in the Silver which made selecting 5 ROY candidates tough. As for the Gold, there weren't really any other guys that I could justify for ROY other than the 5 listed. But then again, its just my opinion based on the stats. |

Congrats to IceTeaboxing. You banged the heck out of the Beavers today. Looks like you returned the spankin we gave you guys last year. Total meltdown in Bonner Springs - even the Mick let me down. Basilio was one of the only guys who showed up today.

Congrats to Icetea on winning the championship and getting some payback. Man, the playoffs were abit of a let down this year all the matches were blowouts there were no close matches. For some reason the Beavers just haven't been able to put together back to back strong efforts since the Gatitos match. Who ever thought we would see someone drop 60+ on the Beavers just an amazing effort from Iceteaboxing today.

Isn't that just the best pic? It was taken after Basilio's defeat of Sugar Ray Robinson for the MW title in 1957. Here's a great article from Dan Cuoco on this match:
