Apparently Larry Davis had to make a visit to the mound when Witasuck pitched, and then he left the game.

Not to sound like a meanie, but I hope he goes back on the DL and sin't available to kill the team.

For those who watch A's games on mlb.tv, does anybody have a clue why A's broadcasts on mlb.tv don't have the graphics? It's kind of annoying when the announcers reference something that is supposed to be on the screen, but I can just see the video feed. This doesn't happen with any other team as far as I can tell.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well, but I seem to think I've seen it on other teams' broadcasts too.

My thought is that it's for the same reason we don't get to watch the commercials anymore. MLB.com doesn't want to give away free advertising. They want to be paid to show stuff like the Chevrolet or Carls Jr. logo (because those graphics are always sponsored by something).

That makes sense. So do A's broadcasts not have a runners on/outs/count graphic like others do?

Also, Bobby Kielty!

Frank Thomas has four times as many home runs as doubles. I wonder what the odds of him getting 10 doubles are.

Seems like they usually don't, which I agree is pretty annoying.

Well, he is running a little better these days...

Thomas runs five times better than Chavez hits these days.

Hopefully in a few weeks DJ will be back up and Kielty will sit vs RHP with Swish back into the OF.

I sorta like this whole "insurance runs" thing. It's nice scoring enough to not need Street AGAIN. Seriously, Macha is going to make his arm fall off.

Using Street here is all kinds of stupid.

The worst thing that happens by leaving Loaiza out there is he gives up a leadoff homer and then you take him out. Maybe. Try letting the bullpen not pitch for a day, Macha. mikev, I'm with you on this one. Too bad Macha can't get another nose bleed or something so someone with a brain could let Loaiza start the 9th.

Edit: It's not like Street has been solid lately. He's been very, very iffy out there.

Looks like Street is going out there for the 9th.

Well, we won and stay 4.5 up. I would have liked to seen more runs scored off a 28-year-old rookie Devil Ray but I'll take it. It's nice when Chavy is cluth once in awhile. But Esteban Loaiza (!) gets my today.

And it worked, but I still don't like it.

Loaiza was good. Real good. I'd like to see more of that.

Thomas absolutely crushed that ball, and Swish needs to get his wallet back from Beltre.

Dear Macha,

Let tonight show you that no, it's NOT necessary to use Huston Street in 6 out of every 7 games.

Chad Gaudin was absolutely awesome in relief tonight, Swisher was clutch(!) and Chavez is starting to get his swing back.

So I missed it apparently:

When did Joel Piniero turn into a flaming heap of dung on the mound? I don't think he's topped 90mph yet.

PEDs?

He hasn't been good since 2003.

Witasick is in. This 8-run lead is not safe.
