This looks to be an "also-ran" year for the Cowboys as we have two whales in the division along with the Pilots. I'm fine with that as I like staying in Diamond for now. I'm looking to save up ~50,000 PP for the player I want (have half of that now). Anybody know roughly how much PP is earned per season? I have a good contact offense, but in Diamond level it earns less PP I'm sure. I haven't been keeping track of my PP intake as well as I should.

My first OL series is against you coming up at the bottom of the hour!

If you still need 25K PP, you'll be waiting 3-5 weeks at the Diamond level, I'm afraid.

I've only really been tracking PP earned in Iron and Bronze for my teams so far (I track PP earned for my other teams but I don't keep a record of it after the season ends for some reason). Anyway, my teams have been earning between 9-20k per season (the higher values were when my teams did something spectacular, like an 18-game winning streak for 4k). I guess you'd earn less at higher levels, so I guess you would earn 7-8k in Diamond (depends on how many all-star selections, gold gloves, silver sluggers, and playoff rewards you get).

In my exprience in the lower levels, the range can be 3k(extremely appalling season) to 15k(great season) + an additional 0-5k depending if you hit any of the high variant gold and silver achievement. Average season is probably 5-8k so maybe around that range for your diamond team.

Since I have nothing better to do, I've started making custom logos for teams in Our League that don't have a proper logo. Unsolicited I know, but it might be better than <insert generic shape with abbreviation here>. Instead, have some of my generic shapes with stuff in them! :P

First up are the Janesville Onyx in bronze. I wasn't very happy with this one because I had to do some semi-fancy trickery with the text warping on the top. No matter how I did it, it always looked a bit off. If you have kids, you may recognize the thing in the middle. That is an "Onix" from the world of Pokemon. An Onyx is actually a black stone, and I didn't think that would look cool as a logo...so I improvised

Lemme know what the consensus is, and if it's favorable, I might do some more.

Alright thanks guys, it sounds like it's not too far out of reach. If I get lucky with a Challenge Mode pack again it'll come sooner. The historical cards are pretty hot right now... I've been selling mine for more than I expected to get. Hopefully when the All-Star break OOTP sale hits the auction house will have more selection and more efficient pricing.

Note that there ARE ways to set up your team to "increase" the achievements you get. Particularly if you are willing to give up some win % for more PP.... some ways that immediately come to mind:

1. Put your premier power hitter first in your lineup. This increases chance of getting the "leadoff hr" achievement (50 pp), as well as chance of double or triple dinger.
2. On your stadium, increase batting average, home runs, doubles/triples percentage --- this increases chances of getting all the offensive achievements. If you also pick up players with great offense stats (even if their defense sucks) this is even better.
3. Have a few starters that have awesome STU and/or CON and large STM ratings. Their MOV ratings are irrelevant for this. Then set your preferences for pulling starting pitchers to slowest possible setting. You get the "putting up zeros" acheivement when they do long outings with no walks, and the "hitting the corners" achievement whenever they get 10 K in a game.

Logged in my OOTP notes file. Keeping this in mind for whenever I stabilize myself in a tier, whether it be silver or back down in bronze.

My Salem Witches seem doomed to mediocrity these days.

The theme is Pirates players (but NEVER Barry Bonds) and I think I've pretty much cleaned out the system (with the exception of Diamond cards). So, I don't really see a way to improve the team unless I change the theme. I win enough games to avoid demotion, but never enough to advance to the postseason. Perfect Team Limbo.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

I ran into a similar issue in PT19 so I decided to expand it to biggest rivals in division and later on to also include entire division (as I needed additional players to fill & improve the roster).

You may be able to expand to include Negro league players since they had some teams in the same city/area.

Very nice and generous donation of your time.
When my two boys (9/10) wanted to replace their logos but did not have the skills to meddle with photoshop or paint.net, I gave them the justafan logomaker.
I found it to be a great little tool and donation to the community to create logos. Professionals may not be impressed but I was happy with what the kids generated for themselves for their regular two teams.

You're definitely welcome. It's a diversion from logging into my team to see how many more one-run games they've lost. I already know we're gonna go down this season because we just don't belong at this level, so better to use that time more efficiently than "complaining". It's okay to care a little less when you know the end result

I'm sure you can find some Pittsburgh Crawfords in the AH, like Satchell Paige, Josh Gibson, Judy Johnson, Cool Papa Bell. Oscar Charleston was the manager for a time. Hmm, maybe Sam Bankhead, Ted Radcliffe, but not sure about those. Homestead is adjacent to Pittsburgh, so with just a slight geographical expansion, the Grays roster opens up those above plus Smokey Joe Williams, Martin Dihigo and more. Go for it, but probably bring along a lot of PP.
