This is the last game of the road trip and then we have 3 whole days off until we have to be back in Detroit. I'll head up to Syracuse to talk with Dave Robertson (43-8.5), but I'll only get to see 1 game because they do not play again until Tuesday. I'll get him to pitch Ed Price (24-5.7). I saw Price this Spring and he was decent, but he must have improved since then with the numbers he has been putting up.

Detroit Wolverines (27-15 .643 1st place in the Liberty League) at
New York Gothams (17-25 .405 10 GB tied for 7th place)

Jiggs Niedermeyer, Det. (24-5.8) (R 4-3 2.30 7.0-1.6-3.8 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Tom McWilliams, N.Y. (26-4.3) (R 1-5 3.68 8.6-1.7-3.2)

Of course, if Niedermeyer would have a bad game that would make it easier to get Price to Detroit. But Niedermeyer has actually looked more impressive to me than Dave Frazier (28-5.7) and I do not want to get rid of him.

Won - 4 to 1

Niedermeyer allowed 7 hits, no walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had 3 hits, scored a run and had an RBI.

McWilliams gave us 11 hits, no walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI.

We made 2 errors and New York made 1.

3B Ed Aldrich (24-6.8) had 2 hits with a double, stole a base and had an RBI. 1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) hit a double. 2B Pat Dunbar (26-8.3) hit a double, stole a base and scored a run. SS Ed Engelhardt (23-5.0) had 2 hits and scored a run.

Liberty League:
Indianapolis (4) at Louisville (2): Jimmy Euler (27-5.5) (5-1) over Mert Gross (30-5.8) (0-1). Euler allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. 1B Ed Slonim (25-8.5) had 3 hits, stole 4 bases and scored 2 runs.

Pittsburgh (0) at Cincinnati (5): Charlie Branham (28-4.2) (8-7) over Whitey Mathews (25-4.1) (10-6). Branham allowed 6 hits, 1 walk and struck out 2. 3B Al Oglesby (24-7.6) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.

Cleveland (3) at Boston (10): Dave Wolf (25-4.7) (7-10) over Artie Boucher (25-6.1) (3-10). Wolf allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and struck out 4. At bat, he had 2 hits and scored 2 runs. C Hub West (34-6.7) hit his 4th home run of the season. LF Charlie Warner (34-9.2) had 2 hits with his 6th home run of the year, drew a walk, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs. For the Spiders, RF Tom Steiner (22-4.9) hit a 3-run home run.

Grand National Association:

Brooklyn (7) at Washington (5): William David (25-3.6) (10-7) in relief of Al Green (25-3.8) over Sammy Berry (28-5.5) (6-6). Green only pitched one inning because he bruised himself sliding, but should be fine with a night's sleep. In 8 relief innings, David allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2 and did not allow an earned run. Rookie CF Ferdie Brady (22-5.6) had 3 hits, stole 2 bases, scored a run and had 2 RBIs. For the Monuments, 3B George Heubner (35-5.2) will miss 2 to 3 weeks with a sore shoulder.

Chicago (8) at Kansas City (10): Piggy Lambert (24-8.2) (3-3) over Pony Stanley (25-6.2) (10-5). Kansas City's Association Park is almost the equal of Boston's South End Grounds for hitters. And the right field fence is especially inviting. Lambert's pitching numbers were not pretty, but at bat, he had 3 hits scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. For the Colts, RF Candy Simpson (29-6.8) had 3 hits with a double and a triple, drew a walk and scored 3 runs. 2B Eb Provost (24-4.6) had 3 hits, stole a base and had 4 RBIs.

Milwaukee (6) at St. Louis (2): Zachary Buchanan (27-4.0) (11-7) over Fred Barrow (36-4.7) (2-8). Buchanan allowed 6 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4. SS Al Blanchette (23-7.7) hit a triple and pulled his groin. He will be gimpy for a week or so. His replacement, SS Ed Record (27-7.5), whom we traded to them this Winter, had 3 hits with a home run and scored twice.

Providence (2) at Omaha (4): Skyrocket Rice (23-5.2) (7-4) over Ed Wison (27-7.3) (4-7). Rice allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. Wison allowed 5 hits, 4 walks and struck out 3. CF Dave Todd (23-5.5) hit a double and a triple and had 3 RBIs.

Grand National Association:
Washington (10) at Brooklyn (9): Ed Bush (28-5.3) (7-10) over Tom Homer (24-5.0) (6-6). The game was not close until Brooklyn scored 6 times in the bottom of the 9th. LF Cal Campbell (29-7.2) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. For the Gladiators, rookie 2B Con Nixon (25-8.1) hit his 4th home run of the year, though he's still batting under .200 overall. He's batting .293 so far in June with 3 of his home runs in 14 games.

Milwaukee (1) at St. Louis (6): Tom Wilmarth (28-5.4) (6-8) over Dave Ward (23-6.1) (1-1). Wilmarth allowed 6 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he hit a double and had an RBI. Manager/LF Pat Matthews (25-5.1) had 3 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Chicago (4) at Kansas City (2): Pat Seguin (24-4.4) (11-9) over Lew Burnett (27-4.5) (9-7). The Colts scored twice in the top of the 9th to break the tie. Seguin allowed 7 hits, no walks and struck out 4. 1B Joe Vaughan (33-5.2) hit a triple and his 1st home run as a Colt (in his 2nd season, though he has only played 40 games for them due to injuries). The year before joining the Colts he led the Liberty League in home runs.

Liberty League:
Cleveland (10) at Boston (9) Game 1: Lou Townley (26-3.4) (13-6) over William Little (27-6.0) (11-7). 3B Charlie Taylor (33-5.2) had 4 hits, scored a run and had an RBI. For the Shamrocks, LF Charlie Warner (34-9.2) hit his 7th home run of the season and C Hub West (34-6.7) hit his 5th.

Cleveland (2) at Boston (6) Game 2: Freddy Wood (32-6.3) (1-0) over Willard Clapp (25-4.3) (3-5). In his 1st start with Boston since the trade, Wood had to leave in the 6th inning with a sore back. He should be okay in about 4 days. CF Studs Galloway (24-5.1), who just recently set the all-time home run record with 3 in 1 game, sprained his knee and will miss the next month.

Louisville (3) at Cincinnati (2): William McLeod (29-5.6) (10-8) over John Stevens (31-8.2) (7-11). McLeod allowed 3 hits, 3 walks and struck out 4. Stevens has lost 6 in a row.

Grand National Association:

Omaha (8) at Providence (6): Skyrocket Rice (23-5.2) (8-4) in relief of Tom Lee (30-6.0) over Tom Ashton (24-5.2) (9-9). Omaha scored 5 times in the top of the 9th to take the lead. Lee had to leave in the 8th inning with soreness in his hand. He probably can still pitch, but will be hampered for a week or so. Rice only face 1 batter to get the win. Rookie 1B Tom Durkin (22-6.6) had 4 hits, including a bases-loaded triple in the 9th, stole a base, scored a run and had 5 RBIs.

Liberty League:
Louisville (2) at Cincinnati (3) in 10 innings: Charlie Branham (28-4.2) (9-7) over Jumbo Hoops (23-6.5) (4-3). RF Fleet Wilcox (31-4.9) knocked home the winning run with a 1-out single. In 10 innings, Branham allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. Hoops allowed 9 hits, 5 walks and struck out 2. LF Will Muller (24-6.4) had 3 hits, stole 2 bases and scored 2 runs.

New York (11) at Boston (8): Miah Turner (27-5.3) (8-8) over Dave Wolf (25-4.7) (7-11). C Jim Martin (26-5.0) had 3 hits with a triple, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs. For the Shamrocks, 3B Bill Gordon (31-3.7) had 3 hits with a double and his 4th home run of the year and 3 RBIs. RF Ed Tummino (26-5.8) injured his elbow and will miss 2 to 3 months. Manager/1b Pete Bucolo (40-4.1) pulled a rib cage muscle and will miss a week or so.

Grand National Association:
Omaha (5) at Providence (9): Ed Wison (27-7.3) (5-7) over Skyrocket Rice (23-5.2) (8-5). SS Tom Hepner (26-7.1) had 4 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. 2B Dave Stricker (26-5.2) had 2 hits with his 2nd home run of the season, a bases-loaded blast in the 6th inning, stole a base and scored 2 runs.

Washington (6) at Brooklyn (7) in 10 innings: William David (25-3.6) (11-7) over Pop Yurkovich (36-5.6) (8-8). 2 errors and a 2-out single by SS Charlie Smith (30-5.6) won the game. 3B Ed Cheney (24-7.8) hit his 3rd home run of the year. Yurky's pitching was not quite up to snuff, but his hitting was above average: he had 3 hits with a triple and 2 RBIs.

Milwaukee (2) at St. Louis (1): Zachary Buchanan (27-4.0) (12-7) over Jimmy Richards (25-0.9) (7-5). Buchanan allowed 6 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. Richards allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 5. C Tim Fish (34-5.4) had 2 hits, stole a base and had 2 RBIs. He was also hit by a pitch in the knee and had to leave the game. He should be fine in a few days.

Elsewhere:
I watched Ed Price (24-5.7) pitch for Syracuse and he lost. He only allowed 4 hits and 1 walk and struck out 4, but he gave up a home run and lost 4 to 3. We'll wait on him for a while, I guess.

We are back home to begin a 4 game series with manager John Cusick (47-7.5) and his Hoosiers today. Cusick only recently took over the team and they have gone 3-1 since his arrival. Way back at the end of April we took 3 of 4 from them in Indianapolis. They are 5th in the League in scoring runs with 4.5 per game (Detroit is #4 with 4.8). They are 7th in runs allowed with 5.4 per game (Detroit is #1 with 3.3).

Indianapolis Hoosiers (18-25 .419 10 GB in 7th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (28-15 .651 1st place)

Jimmy Euler, Ind. (27-5.5) (R 5-1 2.65 7.5-2.3-3.0 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (R 14-4 2.08 7.4-1.1-5.6)

We are 0-1 against Euler so far this season.

Won - 3 to 2

Rice allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 3.

Euler gave us 4 hits, no walks and struck out 1. At bat, he had a hit.

We made 2 errors and Indianapolis made 4.

CF Ren Dunbar (24-6.8) had 2 hits. RF Ben Smith (28-6.7) hit a double and scored a run.

Liberty League:
Pittsburgh (9) at Cleveland (3): Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (13-5) over Artie Boucher (25-6.1) (3-11). Lilly allowed 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 5. RF Jake Howard (29-4.6), who was a Spider 2 weeks ago, had 4 hits with 2 doubles and a walk, scored 3 runs and had an RBI. C Evan Eckberg (32-3.5) had 2 hits with a double, scored a run and had 4 RBIs.

Louisville (0) at Cincinnati (5): William Butina (25-5.6) (4-7) over Mert Gross (30-5.8) (0-2). Butina allowed 6 hit, 2 walks and struck out 3.

New York (20) at Boston (6): Tom McDowell (24-8.0) (8-8) over Ducky Hogan (27-5.3) (0-1) in relief of William Little (27-6.0). Little only faced 1 batter and had to leave with an injury, but will be okay by tomorrow. Hogan, normally a shortstop, took one for the team. Since the New York batters fattened their averages on a non-pitcher, we are not going to point them all out except to mention that 1B John Hilliard (28-7.2) hit his 3rd home run of the season. For the Shamrocks, LF Charlie Warner (34-9.2) hit 2 home runs and had 4 RBIs. He now has 9 home runs on the season and is the League leader.

Grand National Association:

Omaha (6) at Providence (3): Royal Parmelee (27-6.5) (1-3) over Jimmy Harrison (21-4.6) (0-1) in his major league debut. SS Dave Henderson (25-4.1) had 3 hits with a double and his 4th home run of the year, drew a walk, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.

In 3 innings, Frazier allowed 1 hit, no walks and struck out 3.

RF Tom Steiner (22-4.9) had 3 hits, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Louisville (2) at Cincinnati (1): William McLeod (29-5.6) (11-8) over John Stevens (31-8.2) (7-12). McLeod allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2. Stevens allowed 9 hits, 1 walk and struck out 6. He has now lost 7 in a row, though in 4 of the losses, he has allowed only 1 or 0 earned runs.

New York (4) at Boston (5): William Little (27-6.0) (12-7) over Tom McWilliams (26-4.3) (1-7). For the Gothams, LF Fred James (24-5.3) hit his 4th home run of the year.

Grand National Association:
Brooklyn (3) at Providence (4): Tom Ashton (24-5.2) (10-9) over Al Green (25-3.8) (8-12). Ashton allowed 7 hits, 2 walks and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit and scored a run. C John Toler (30-6.4) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

The final blow was a 2-out single by LF Tom Kelly (24-5.3). For the Colts, RF Candy Simpson (29-6.8) hit a home run. 2B Eb Provost (24-4.6), who is leading the GNA in batting, will miss a week or two with a pulled muscle.

Pat Matthews (25-5.1) has decided he does not like managing and has stepped down as the field boss of the St. Louis Terriers after 8 games. Owner Bob Baugh (56-7.5) has appointed Tom Bromley (40-7.8) back as manager. Bromley managed the Terriers for 3 games while Baugh decided who to make the manager before choosing Matthews. Baugh says he will give Bromley a trial to see if he can be the permanent manager.

Indianapolis Hoosiers (18-28 .391 13 GB in 8th (last) place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (31-15 .674 1st place)

Jimmy Euler, Ind. (27-5.5) (R 5-2 2.31 7.1-2.0-2.7 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Jiggs Niedermeyer, Det. (24-5.8) (R 6-3 2.22 7.3-1.3-3.4)

We are 1-1 against Euler, though we only got 4 hits in our win.

Lost - 5 to 0

I told you that when the other team does not make any errors it is hard to score runs. Well, this game is a prime example. We got 9 hits but no runs.

Niedermeyer allowed 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2.

Euler gave us 9 hits, 2 walks and struck out 2.

We made 3 errors and Indianapolis made none.

3B Ed Aldrich (24-6.8) had 2 hits.

Manager Mickey Baker (45-7.5) has his Spiders in town to begin a 4 game series today. We took 2 of 3 in Cleveland a month ago. They are 3rd in the League in scoring with 4.8 runs per game (Detroit is #5 with 4.7). They are 7th in runs allowed with 5.5 per game (Detroit is #1 with 3.3).

Since Dave Frazier (28-5.7) is still a bit banged up and everyone else is tuckered out, I took C Joe Garner (29-5.5) off the roster for just today and called up P Ed Price (24-5.7) to pitch.

Cleveland Spiders (21-26 .447 10 GB tied for 5th place in the Liberty League) at
Detroit Wolverines (31-16 .660 1st place)

Lou Townley, Clev. (26-3.4) (R 14-6 2.33 7.2-1.1-4.3 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Ed Price, Det. (24-5.7) (R 8-2 0.89 6.1-0.6-3.6 in A Ball)

Of course, the Spiders are not a bad team when Townley is in the pitcher's box. The 1st time we faced our old teammate we lost 3 to 2.

Lost - 8 to 7

RF Ben Smith (28-6.7) hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game, but ex-Wolverine 2B Tom Nelson (21-6.6) hit a 2-out double in the top of the 9th to give the Spiders the lead and Townley sat us down in order in the bottom half of the inning. Nelson had 3 hits.

Price allowed 13 hits, 3 walks and struck out 1. He is now on a train back to Syracuse.

Townley gave us 7 hits, 1 walk and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit, scored a run and had an RBI.

We made 6 errors and Cleveland made 3.

CF Ren Dunbar (24-6.8) hit a double and scored a run. 1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) had 2 hits with a double, scored 2 runs and had an RBI. RF Ben Smith had 2 hits with his 5th home run of the year, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.

Liberty League:
Pittsburgh (1) at Indianapolis (11): Sal DeVaux (33-3.5) (8-11) over Whitey Mathews (25-4.1) (10-8). DeVaux allowed 5 hits, 2 walks and struck out 1. C Fred Smith (33-6.8) hit a home run and drew a walk and scored 3 runs. SS Jake Steitz (29-4.7) had 3 hits with a double, stole a base, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

New York (6) at Louisville (3): Miah Turner (27-5.3) (10-8) over William McLeod (29-5.6) (11-9). Turner allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 2. 1B John Hilliard (28-7.2) hit his 4th home run of the season.

Cincinnati (8) at Boston (6): John Stevens (31-8.2) (8-12) over William Little (27-6.0) (12-8). LF Willie Kirby (26-2.1), in only his 2nd game of the season due to injuries, had 3 hits and 2 RBIs. For the Shamrocks, LF Charlie Warner (34-9.2) had 3 hits with his 10th home run of the year and 2 RBIs.

Grand National Association:
St. Louis (6) at Kansas City (5): Jimmy Richards (25-0.9) (8-6) over Lew Burnett (27-4.5) (10-8). Ex-Wolverine 1B Jack Warren (36-7.2) had 3 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI.

We now take an excursion down to Indianapolis for a 4 game series with manager John Cusick (47-7.5) and his Hoosiers before returning to Detroit to continue our home stand. We are 6-2 against them so far this season and beat them 3 of 4 in Detroit a week ago, though they shut us out in the lat game. It is unlikely that there will be any shutouts in Seventh Street Park as the fences seem to gobble up baseballs at a prodigious rate. They are 7th in runs scored with 4.5 per game (Detroit is 5th with 4.7). They are 6th in runs allowed with 5.1 per game (Detroit is #1 with 3.5). In our 1st trip to Indianapolis there were 6 home runs hit in the 4 games (each team with 3) and no game failed to produce at least one.

Detroit Wolverines (32-18 .640 1st place in the Liberty League) at
Indianapolis Hoosiers (21-28 .429 10.5 GB in 8th (last) place)

Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (R 16-5 2.16 7.7-1.0-5.4 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Jimmy Euler, Ind. (27-5.5) (R 7-2 1.79 7.2-1.8-2.7)

We are 1-2 against Euler on the season. Rice actually did pitch a shutout in our last trip to Indianapolis.

Won - 5 to 3 in 10 innings

We turned 4 double-plays.

In 10 innings, Rice allowed 7 hits, no walks and struck out 1.

Euler gave us 8 hits, 3 walks and struck out 8. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI.

We made 4 errors and Indianapolis made 3.

1B Sam Cowan (32-5.1) hit a double and scored a run. 2B Pat Dunbar (26-8.3) had 2 hits with a triple, stole a base, scored a run and had 3 RBIs. LF Al Lewis (22-9.1) hit a double and had an RBI.

For the Hoosiers, LF Hick Fahl (31-5.3) had 2 hits with his 4th home run of the season and his 2nd off Rice.

Liberty League:
Boston (7) at Louisville (5): Freddy Wood (32-6.3) (2-1) over William McLeod (29-5.6) (11-10). Wood had 2 hits, scored a run and had an RBI.

Cleveland (1) at Pittsburgh (2): Tom Lilly (28-6.4) (15-6) over Lou Townley (26-3.4) (15-7). Lilly allowed 8 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4. Townley allowed 8 hits, no walks and struck out 1. For the Spiders, C Charlie Harris (27-5.9) had 3 hits with a double and a walk, but no runs or RBIs.

Cincinnati (4) at New York (9): Miah Turner (27-5.3) (11-8) over Dan Burton (33-4.9) (0-1). C Jim Martin (26-5.0) had 5 hits with a double, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. For the Reds, Willie Burton (33-8.5) hit a pinch-hit home run, his 5th long-ball of the year.

Grand National Association:
Providence (13) at Kansas City (6): Tom Ashton (24-5.2) (11-9) over Lew Burnett (27-4.5) (10-9). CF Tom Herold (23-6.4) had 3 hits with a double and a bases-loaded home run and a walk, stole a base, scored 2 runs and had 5 RBIs.

Brooklyn (6) at Chicago (5): William David (25-3.6) (12-9) over Pony Stanley (25-6.2) (11-7). Chicago out-hit Brooklyn 8 to 5, but made 7 errors. At bat, Stanley had 2 hits with a home run, the 1st of his career.

Washington (8) at Milwaukee (6): Pop Yurkovich (36-5.6) (9-10) over Zachary Buchanan (27-4.0) (14-8). 1B Cal Campbell (29-7.2) had 2 hits with his 2nd home run of the year, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBIs.

We are 2-0 against DeVaux on the season, but he has pitched decently both times. The only game he has lost in his last 7 starts was to us. His last outing was a 5-hit, 11 to 1 win over 2nd place Pittsburgh.

A 15 MPH wind is blowing out to right.

The expected flood of cheap home runs did not quite materialize. The game was tied going into the 9th when we scored on a lead-off single by SS Ed Engelhardt (23-5.0), a couple a steals and a wild pitch.

We made 4 errors and Indianapolis made 6.

Grand National Association:
Providence (11) at Kansas City (7) in 12 innings Game 1: Tom Ashton (24-5.2) (12-9) in relief of Ed Hodges (28-3.2) over Piggy Lambert (24-8.2) (3-5) in relief of Dan Butler (31-4.7). Ashton pitched 2 perfect innings of relief and hit a 2-run double in the top of the 12th. 3B Ed Knight (25-5.1) pulled a muscle and will miss 2 to 3 weeks.

St. Louis owner Bob Baugh (56-7.5) announced that Tom Bromley (40-7.8) had been found wanting as a managerial candidate and gave the reigns of the team to Jim Hodzic (37-7.0), who will technically be a player-manager though he has yet to appear in a game this season. That may change now that he's the boss, however. Hodzic managed Worcester for the 1st 11 games of 1881.

Grand National Association:
Omaha (6) at Kansas City (4): Tom Lee (30-6.0) (9-10) over Lew Burnett (27-4.5) (10-10). Lee allowed 7 hits, 3 walks and struck out 5. He has won 4 in a row. 2B Jocko Cole (26-6.1) had 2 hits with a triple and 3 RBIs.

Washington (2) at Chicago (7): Pat Seguin (24-4.4) (14-10) over Ed Bush (28-5.3) (9-12). Seguin allowed 4 hits, no walks and struck out 7.

Brooklyn (12) at Milwaukee (5): Al Green (25-3.8) (9-14) over Kid Henze (23-5.2) (2-3). C Jim Granier (33-5.7) had 3 hits with a walk and 4 RBIs. 3B Joe Henry (36-9.2) had 4 hits, scored 2 runs and had an RBI.

Detroit Wolverines (34-18 .654 1st place in the Liberty League) at
Indianapolis Hoosiers (21-30 .412 12.5 GB in 8th (last) place)

Al Rice, Det. (23-7.6) (R 17-5 2.14 7.6-1.0-5.2 H/9-BB/9-SO/9) vs. Jimmy Euler, Ind. (27-5.5) (R 7-3 2.09 7.2-1.9-3.2)

We are 2-2 against Euler on the season, but he has pitched well every time.

Lost - 3 to 2 in 10 innings

The only extra-base hit of the whole game was hit by P Jimmy Euler to lead off the 10th. 2B Kid Stevens (26-8.4), who was 6 for 60 lifetime against Rice coming into this game, knocked Euler home with his 2nd hit of the day to win the game.

Rice allowed 10 hits, no walks and struck out 8.

Euler gave us 8 hits, 4 walks and struck out 3.

We made 4 errors and Indianapolis made 2.

3B Ed Aldrich (24-6.8) had 2 hits and 2 walks and stole 2 bases, but only scored 1 run because the 3 guys after him in the lineup went 1 for 14. C Cliff Robinson (30-6.1) had 2 hits and a walk, but no runs or RBIs. 2B Pat Dunbar (26-8.3) had 2 hits and an RBI.

I was mistaken saying that this was to be a 4 game series; it is only 3. We have an off day tomorrow as we head back to Detroit to face the Gothams in a 4th of July double-header.
