Montreal wins their 9th straight postseason game to remain 9-0, and take a 1-0 lead in the ELCS.

WEST - LCS - GAME 1

When you get an outstanding start from your ace, and likely West CYA winner, you expect to win. But Oklahoma was preventing runs as well. Nick Gwyn, pitched 7.1 scoreless innings so far in the playoffs, allowed a 2-R HR, and that was it for the scoring. When StL did get men on base, they were unable to drive them in ... particularly in the last inning.

Oklahoma lost one of their SP (Licktieg) to injury and needed to use 4 RP for 7 IP, so maybe their bullpen will get depleted as the series goes on.

Montreal holds off a late charge to make it 10 straight postseason wins.

WEST - LCS - GAME 2

Rookie IF, Tim Norberg, gives StL a 6-5 lead with a 3R HR, the Shires pull even in the series.

Norberg started off very slowly, but progressed as the season went on leading to a solid August and September, serving as the team's starting 2B vs LHP, and backup 2B, SS, and 3B.

The Mounties are now one win away from completely sweeping their way through the postseason en route to the World Series, 11-0 in 2034 Playoffs.

WEST - LCS - GAME 3

Merrill continues to rake in this postseason, controlling the narrative regarding his future in St Louis.

The "Little Groundballer That Could" has pitched 9 scoreless inning in the 2034 postseason.

When StL let veteran LR Landon Knack walk in FA, Berardi was to step into that role, providing good innings, and keeping things within reason.

However, with the poor performances and injuries to Cooper Rummel (now in 3A) and Evan Bailey, Berardi joined to rotation as the 5th starter (He filled in admirably for an injured Yamamoto in 2033).

With Evan Bailey pitching poorly down the stretch, the team decided to have Berardi be the 4th SP in the rotation, with Josue Calderon (acquired in trade for Yamamoto with SEA) serving as the LR in the playoffs.

Aldegheri was injured (UCL, 11 months) after his great timed start in the LCS, Berardi moved up the 3rd SP and Calderon the 4th.

Berardi pitched the game of his life in G3 of the WLCS, giving StL a surprising 2-1 lead in the series.

Lost in the offensive onslaught by the Shires in Game 4 was the solid pitching performance by Calderon, who has struggled all year with walks and HRA.

If you would have told me that the score was 17-2 in a game where Calderon started, I would not have guessed that StL would have the "17".

Steve Baker tied the West playoff game record with 5 hits, and both Baker and Eric Leonard tied the West playoff game record with 4 runs scored.
