Warwick, Davenport Swap Teams

The Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Browns have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Cincinnati will part with 25-year-old catcher Bill Warwick, while the Browns have dealt 33-year-old starting pitcher Dave Davenport. "This one took a while to figure out," said the Cincinnati general manager. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."

This year Warwick is hitting .233 with 1 home run and 28 RBIs in 54 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .280 with 13 walks and 16 runs scored.

So far this year Davenport has compiled a 4-7 record with a 6.22 ERA.
