Random Mets - Vinegar Bend Mizell
ortforshort had previously colorized an Elder postcard (said colorization no longer posted as far as I can tell). That was a road uni. And Merkle has said (in January of last year) that Mizell's Topps file did (at one time, anyway) contain color Mets images. But I hadn't done any colorizing in a while and Vinegar Bend is one of the Mets on my to do list. This is Wilmer in the home duds of the Amazin's from the Pub shot (which, because my vision is failing, you'll find labeled as a "pib" shot. *sigh*).
Anyway, I wanted to put him in the Polo Grounds, but I had to shrink him to do so as my Mets era Polo Grounds shots are smaller than the pib, I mean pub. I tried various positions on the Polo Grounds background and various shades of "blur", as well. The one here seemed to be the best of them. |

Two MIA 1967-68 Braves
Have just about given up on any chance to see either of these early Atlanta Braves in color. It's up to you folks!
Skip Guinn made his MLB debut in 1968 (3 games, all in relief),then was tabbed by the Expos in the expansion draft. But at the end of April, he and Jack Billingham were sent to the Astros to complete a deal buggered when Donn Clendenon refused to report. He would see action with the Astros in 1969 and 71. Angel (his given name) broke in with the Braves in 1967, but was stuck in the minors the following year and followed Guinn to the Expos in the expansion draft. After seeing little action for the Expos for four seasons, then spending two more in the minors, he was acquired by Cleveland for the 1974 season. |

Juan Carty
Here are 3 Custom cards by me. 1970 and 71 Juan Carty of the Seattle Pilots. 1970 Blue Topps is Fat Jacks Framing that I used to add Juan Carty Name and Photo. Think that the Blue framing is cool.

Ron Kotick
Don't Know if I am stepping on any toes by doing this. I redone Ron Kotick 1969 card to set it as a regular 1969 Topps.

A little fun for today.
"Gasoline don't taste so good since Prohibition. They ain't so careful like when they used it for makin' gin." (Curley from "Three Little Sew And Sews" 1939). |

Dick Baney
Been sitting on this for awhile. Baney was drafted by the Pilots from Boston, then was traded in 1970 as part odf a deal for Dave May. so I guess this is from spring of 1971. Look forward to seeing it in living color.
