These uniforms will also be available on my tools page some time tomorrow. I will have SEPIA, Black & White and Color availble tomorrow for people to grab. I personally dont really like the SEPIA and Black&White versions, but the color ones look really good. I will post here when they are availble.
I will also host the logos for the league as well. Please send me an email with any of the team names I messed up and I will correct them tomorrow. Last edited by alinkens; 12-08-2004 at 04:39 AM. |

that's very cool looking, i can see why your work gets such critical acclaim
![]() the only reasons why i'm going for B&W and sepia is for historical accuracy. kinda odd to see colour photos in a league that is in 1920, i dont even think they had colour film even if you coudl afford it. and email sent

Have been creating faces tonight...and, I think I'm finding ways to come up with a greater sense of variety to the images even within the same tilt and positioning of the head...here's the latest face I've just come up with tonight:

I have decided that instead of posting any "bags-o-heads" that I would rather post "racks of heads". (see attached image).
The text in the upper left corner of the window might be too small in this version of the image to read so ...here's what it says: simply RIGHT click on head, choose highest numbered level in the pop-up menu, then, leftclick-hold and drag head into uniform template. I'd like to use this method for posting heads because it allows the head-gatherer to see all of the choices in front of him when he chooses. I suppose that I could, by request, do a standard "single pile stack of heads" should someone want one for the sake of automated uniforming of a batch of heads at once, but, since there will be a lot of us who will want to select an image that fits with the age, origin and, to some extent, name of the player I decided it would be more helpful to be able to choose from a number of sources. Also, with both windows open (rack of heads and uniform template) it will only be a matter of dragging the head into the window with the uniform template so it will just be a matter of pulling heads off the rack(s) and putting them in uniforms. I would also like to mention that I will likely put hair/facial-hair/etc on these heads before posting them so the final result will look a little bit different.

That's some really top notch work there, FS. You may feel like the computer is doing it all, but it certainly takes a lot of time, dedication, and attention to detail to get images like that.

Thanks ctorg
It helps that I enjoy making the faces and that I get very obsessive with them. It also helps that I occasionally make one that reminds me of someone-- like the Chevy Chase type smile of the face in the third row down and second inward from the far right.

very cool montage
![]() how hard is it exactly to merge a face with a uniform? like is it a simple as 1-2-3, or does it take quite a while?

Its simply a matter of "see a face", "right-click-a-face", "drag-the-face-into-uniform" ...done I'll have a full readme file that will come with the uniforms that gives full instructions, suggestions, etc. along with some sort of 'walk-thru' example....its not that I don't think that others couldn't figure it out on their own...just that I always like it when others make and include readme files that give me a good sense of how to work with the file. I'm going to get the correct sized necks on the faces before posting them up so that they should fit into Deft's uniform template right away without need of adjustment (unless you would, for whatever reason wish to make your own adjustments).....except... and here is the one exception...the larger heads (there are some heavier set players that don't quite fit the standard uniform size... I will clearly label them in the set ...maybe even keep them to a 'rack of heads' of their own... and, what I'll do is include a photoshop automation file that will automatically take any uniform you wish and generate a slightly larger version of that same uniform for use with those larger heads. (actually, the automation isn't really necessary to do that since it is a small adjustment, but it will save time for people with a bunch of uniforms to just be able to apply the 'action' and it will be able to create a 'size large neck uniform' for all of their teams.... the instructions for using the 'action' will be written out in explicit step-by-step detail so as to make this set-up as user-friendly as possible. Also, I would like the heads I post to be available to people who don't have photoshop (or are allergic to it) So, provided I can get someone to host the download, I will make a generic uniform and put every player in a generic uniform and save them all as .bmp files and zip that into a zip file and post that collection of heads in generic uniforms for download ...so that that way someone who doesn't have photoshop could still use the heads I make...I'll probably do more than just one generic uniform...but they'll be simple and that way the heads can all be used in that way too. At least, that is, I am hoping that someone would be willing to host such a download...I shouldn't really assume that...but its what I'd like to be able to do. Also, once I have set-up an automation for uniforming entire sets of teams with one click of a button... then, it can be even faster... it would simply be a matter of copying all of the heads you'd want for a given team to a certain team file...then running an automation file (that I will post) on that file...and, poof, there they are... And, as that will be quite fast and easy to do I would think that there will be people with photoshop who would be willing to run that uniform applying action file to heads and uniforms for someone who does not have photoshop... Said in a clearer way: Suppose person A is "allergic" to photoshop but they have a set of uniforms they want to use...they could then send those uniforms and the heads they want to use for those uniforms to... person B = someone with photoshop willing to help out the person without photoshop... Person B could just load the files, click the mouse a couple of times...let the computer go to work...well, they would actually have to repeat a short process for each team's uniform... but then, once that is done they could just send the uniformed players back to player A I hope I wasn't being too pendantic in how I wrote all of this...I'm just having some difficulty tonight with it seeming to me like my words are getting very tangled up so I wanted to try to write in a sensible and clear way as I could. Hope my explanation covered anything you might have wondered about the 'rack of heads' idea.
