I am very pleased to hear this. A new ingame engine is warmly received here.
Can't wait to try it out. |

I'd like to see the ability to build stafiums for the next one. Have teams pay for the upgrades, and the like

I'm not sure if this was brought up but I'd like to see expansion and contraction built into the game. Doing expansion in a solo league is difficult and monotonous. It's not the top priority but a little something that would be nice.

this is the best idea i have heard so far. I have never played in an online league and i probably never will, but this idea shows imagination. The ability to have roster changes online (with the potential for password protection) and real time stats on the web would be awesome. |

the 2 major improvement that are a must-have for ootp6 were already mentions on previous post. they are:
1- AI enhance manager mode: every team should have an owner, general manager and manager, and you should be able to see them get fired and hired by teams. 2-stat sensitive improvement: althought you dont want it to be too big, just a bit.. i would like to see the attributes of a player rise a bit , after a great season. this idea was shot down by some people the last time i presented it but i feel this is very realistic. some other ideas i would like to see is : 1-players's moral: this idea was also rejected but it could work easily, just look at the fan and owner moral in ootp5, it would be based on the same ground of work. things like contract, team success and other things like" the leader of the team had been traded" could have an effect on player's morals. that's about it, if these 3 can make it into the next version of ootp6, it will be the best game ever made. |

Please
Can we please, please, please have a way to export to text or html the actual in-game play by play? I can't tell you how great this would be for online leagues - a great way to share All-Star games, World Series Games, Futures Games, Games of the Week. I think it would add a lot to online leagues. This was listed as a possible addition in a patch to OOTP4. Please have it in OOTP6.

speed ratings
I think the speed ratings should be from 2 to 8, which is how actual scouts rate major league players. But the ability to steal ratings should remain how it is.

Just thought I would throw this out there... instead of creating 2d graphical component, what about having some kind of random face generator that creates faces for the players in your league? This would add more personality to the game if it would be possible.

For a 2D component.... why not go with something like the smallball engine. I think that game has some potential parts that could be built in ootp 6.

I heartily recommend you do not use CM4 as a bench mark as the game has been a complete disaster from its release to date, even with all the "Enhancement packs" and was totally unplayable out of the box. The 2d engine is IMO a total waist of time and uses up valuable memory space. It changes the game from being one of imagination to one of simply watching blobs on the screen kick a pingpong ball around...and looses the whole point of the original concept.
The more text based CM3 (CM01/02) is the complete game, and is the one to use as reference for any management game project. It has all the realism anyone could ask for and asks the player to have an in-game imagination. SI should have left the game engine well alone and not tried to fix something which was plainly not broken. Please don`t go down the CM4 route, as IMO this will lead to an inferior end product as has happened with the CM series.... Thanks |

Markus,
It all sounds good (along with the majority of the suggestions in this thread)! Things I'd like to see are: -Ability to import specific player photos just by clicking on the photo box of a specific player and "point" the game to a specific graphic file. This type of feature would also be useful for team logos and stadium graphics in the Team Setup menu. -League specific default player photos. That way my 1970 MLB league can have a different default player photo than my 2003 MLB league. League specific stadium graphics would be nice too. -Ability to edit play-by-play text. -Ability to hire (and fire) T.V./Radio commentators/color men. Having a good play-by-play team in the booth could influence a team's popularity and increase broadcast revenue. Each commentator would have some basic stats (i.e. baseball lore, popularity, style, etc.). -Ability to send the pitching coach to the mound during a game in order to "settle down" a pitcher. -Addition of freak plays or gaffes like player interference or runners missing signs and running into outs (i.e. runner fails to pick up third base coach and doesn't advance OR just blindly runs into an out). More off-the-field incidents (bar fights, arrest, etc.). -Scouting reports on umpires. League umpires that have small and large strike zones, bad temperments or bad eyesight. )-Advanced scouting reports on opposing teams that show up in your mail prior to a game. -Individual team Hall of Fames and ability to retire player numbers. - Have some retired players become available as minor league managers, scouts/GMs, hitting instructors and pitching coaches. - Hit and pitch charts al la the Scouting Report books by Stats, Inc. for each player. -More detail in finances, as in ticket types/prices and concession/food items. -League revenue sharing and luxury taxes. -Ability to relocate team or build your own ballpark (with your own money or public financing). -Option to play out Spring Training games. Track Spring Training news, stats and win-loss record. Ability to choose/change Spring Training location site/league (and gain some revenue from these games). Players can become injured during Spring Training as well. |

In case no one has said this... how about those 5/10 rules in free agency... if the player has played for 10 yrs & the last 5 have been for the same team, he has to approve a trade... There's also the player's right to demand a trade... and apparently if the request isn't granted, he can become a free agent... then he can't make another request for 3 yrs I believe, and requests can only be made by players in certain situations... check out the link Le Grande Orange posted above... click TRADES... it was a good read... |

I REALLY like this idea. Maybe it could be just before each series though rather than every game. |

Yeah, I agree- having a scouting report on the opposing team for the series as opposed to each individual game in the series.

Fielding Log
At the end of a game, would it be possible to have an option to see a "Fielding Log"?
Just a listing of players, positions played during that game along with the putouts, assists, total chances recorded during that game. The information is already recorded in the game. There already are the options to view the box score and the game log, hopefully something like a fielding log would be possible as well. Thanks |

In hopes that Markus actually reads this, I would love to see more customizable stat lists. In addition, it would be great to save them. Like when setting my lineups, I like to see more stats v. LHP than juts AVG & OPS.
Also, how about making it more easy to edit player histories (most RBI in a game, etc.) |

Extension AI revamp -
It used to be that signing extensions was way too easy and made free agency less meaningful. Now it is extremely difficult and perhaps over-emphasising free agency. It would be nice if the AI was made smarter and actually negotiated or tried to reach a some sort of concensus by actually giving out financial information. Limiting the number of attempts to re-sign a player is silly. Instead, based on player personality, their demands should be within a % of their desired amount and then as a final situation. If a team owner isn't coming close, then the player should issue a a "i will take this at this many years, final offer". This way the owner has an opportunity to make a final decision. Additinally, if a player does not want to re-sign, he should simply state it a la regular free agency where players tell us they are not interested in our organization. Thanks for listening to my rant Rob
