So sad to see you leave, Marcus! I've been with you since that first version and I've loved every one. I used to play MicroLeague Baseball on my old Apple IIe back in the day and was looking for some way to recapture that game when I stumbled on OOTP. I never thought it would have turned into what it has, but I am so glad it did. I've spent a lot of hours playing for sure. You've done an incredible job over the years but your legacy of creating one of the best sports simulation games of all time will remain for a very long time. Enjoy your next chapter in life!

Great game
Good game for historical replays. You did an excellent job. Hopefully, things will not go the wrong direction in the future.
Enjoy retirement!! |

I’d like to offer you my personal thanks and to wish you well. I started with OOTP 18, so for many folks here I’m pretty new. But it’s been a blast, and I don’t know how many hours I’ve spent but it’s been a few. You’ve touched my life.

Markus,
Thank you for everything you've done for this game and for me. I've bought this game every year for over half of my life, I was on the beta team for a few years, I have almost 5000 posts on here. I've always been inspired by your posts and love for the game, this game has helped me become so much more knowledgeable about baseball and I can't thank you enough for that! If I ever make my way out to Germany again, I hope I can buy you a drink!

However, Lukas Berger is certainly a part of all the success OOTP has had. Thank you, too, Lukas, for all the help you have given the OOTP Community over the years. I hope you have a big part in OOTP's future success. |

One can certainly have legitimate quibbles with this game. But sometimes I just have to take a step back and look at the big picture. Like, I can't believe a game exists that does all the freakin stuff this game does. John Henry called it an "astonishing accomplishment," and it is. Baseball nerd paradise.
Thanks, Markus! |

I wish you all the blessings in the World on your future endeavors, Markus. I have been playing your creation since 2002 when I was 46 years old. I cannot believe I still enjoy playing this amazing game now that I am 69 next month. I have had no complaints with any and all versions and am just so appreciative for what you and your cohorts at OOTPD have made for us to enjoy all these decades. OOTPB has made spring so much more enjoyable since 2002.
As a young boy I would have so loved this game, I even made my own dice games because I was not satisfied with what was available in the 1960's. Thank you for making this game, which I consider a "dream come true". You will be missed (hopefully not absent too much).

Thank you Markus I started playing this game back in 2003 and this game was like a dream. This game got me through surgery and radiation for lung cancer. It helped me get by after losing my wife of 49.6 years. I'm now 74 and at the end of my life and want you to know how much I appreciate you.
I didn't know back in 2003 when i picked up Season Ticket Baseball how much it was going to help take me away from problems I was going to be facing. I wish you nothing but success for the rest of your life.... ![]() Last edited by bosunmate; 12-18-2024 at 09:15 AM. |

Actually, hey you can't leave yet. I didn't check to see in this version how the potential ratings for Ron Guidry and Don Mattingly are on rookie import!!!
just kidding, best wishes - you have lots to be proud of |

Hi Markus - joining in to say thank you so much! I've been playing OOTP since I was in middle school (around the time of OOTP10, but I think OOTP8 was free so I played that first?). I've been in the same online league since around that time, and it's incredible that the game you and others built over the years can bring so many strangers together.
I appreciate all your hard work. Congratulation on a job well done, and good luck on your next venture, whatever that may be. |
