One thing i noticed was that the ai tends to put a lot of batters on the field.
Pregame might be ok but not for a field during actual game play. I'm sure that can be removed. |

Kennard Street Park (League Park I), Cleveland (NL, 1879-1884)
I enjoy the "small park in the neighborhood" feel of this one. Please let me know your thoughts. League Park I |

Yeah, you might want to change the sharing settings on the file; make it so everyone with the link can view it.

I've got it. Just like an old park from the time. Good job. Plays nice, also.

Eclipse Park I, Louisville (AA and NL, 1882-1892)
Here is Eclipse Park I, one-time home of the Louisville Eclipse. In 1885, the Eclipse were renamed the Louisville Colonels. The distinguishing feature here is a large cattle barn well beyond the fence, which will also appear in my model for Eclipse Park II (coming soon). Just a note that it may take a bit of time to find a camera view that works well in this park due to the rather tall grandstand being fairly close to home plate. I believe I ended up settling on the Home Plate Action Cam. Eclipse_Park_I Last edited by dfswans; 07-25-2024 at 05:11 PM. |

Woo-hoo! Great updates, dfswans!
![]() I've been on work travel and only vaguely following the AI discussion, but what I think strikes me as most useful would be if someone could generate a line of 1890s people (or a few lines of people, from different decades) that could be used to make the on-field crowds that used to line the parks. I've looked for real photos but I've never found something that worked, and 3d warehouse only seems to have modern (or medieval) figures... |

Eclipse Park I is really cool. Nice cattle barn, too. And the ball locations all set up. Easily adjusted the 3rd base camaras for better view. Thanks for your work.

These old time psrks are great. You guys are doing fine work. I’m still kicking around a small town league, and I’m definitely putting many if not all of these in.

I have added 19 of these 19th century stadiums to an upcoming NeL Mod. They seem to be loading automatically fine with a modified era_ballparks file to support these models.
The mod redesigns the progression of teams in the 19th century. These are the only remaining models needed to cover all of the teams: Cubs Union Baseball Grounds 1871-1873 23rd Street Grounds 1874-1877 (DONE) Dodgers Capitoline Grounds 1871-1872 Giants Polo Grounds I 1883-1888 (I think Silvam began work on this project.) Reds Avenue Grounds 1876-1879 Bank Street Grounds 1880-1883 (DONE) Athletics Oakdale Park 1882 Cleveland National League Park 1887-1888 (I am not sure how different this is from the League Park I Silvam model though.) National League Park 1889-1890 (I am not sure how different this is from the League Park I Silvam model though.) Yankees (Baltimore) Newington Park 1882 Oriole Park 1883-1890 (DONE) Union Park 1891-1900 (DONE) Last edited by Garlon; 09-07-2024 at 11:28 PM. |

Looks good, Garlon. I've started on Bank Street Grounds, and was going to tackle 23rd Street Grounds after that. I've got the material to do Avenue Grounds and the Baltimore parks pretty easily, though I also believe dfswans has begun Union Park in Baltimore.
We're getting close! ![]() |

These mods are really helping 19th century play.
I really like the ballparks. Little quirks like that barn and the wooden fences can put you in that time period of play. Seeing a big stadium with lights wasn't realistic for that time. The uniforms help make it look realistic as well. |

1890's fans

Pictures.zip Maybe some of these might help. Last edited by zappa1; 07-29-2024 at 06:25 AM. |

The clothes look right but the hairstyle looks a bit modern. Idk but it looks like modern people in clothes of those times. Where the other ones look like the people of that era in the clothes of that era. It might just be me. |

Yes you"re right. It's hard to get it exactly what you want. Keep changing the criteria and you get different results. Had a hard time trying to get them in a line. Plus, some are in color and some are not. These ones here are in color. Some were sepia or just plain B&W.
Another thing, if you can find real photos they too most likely will be B&W unless they've been colorized. Of course you can play the park in OOTP's sepia tone option for the 19th century. Last edited by zappa1; 07-30-2024 at 06:24 AM. |

We posted the NeL mod in the Steam Workshop. The 19th century ballparks from this thread are included as part of the mod and will automatically load in the 19th century each season if you turn on automatic expansion in the game.

Eclipse Park II, Louisville (NL1893-1899)
Built directly beyond the right field fence of Eclipse Park I, this is the ballpark where Honus Wagner made his major league debut in 1897. Eclipse_Park_II |
