Instead of working around the problem, is there a chance that eventually the AI around how to use players with 2way ability can be addressed? Because since you're the one that does a lot of work on the draft classes.... I'm sure you know how many 2 way players exist as amateurs, even at the NCAA D1 level. |

Yea, my problem was never the amount of 2-way players. The AI insists on letting them do it in the majors when they are only proficient on one side. They might be a major league hitter, but he has a minor league arm, yet the AI puts him as a pitcher. Vice versa.

100% agree with two way player logic. For two way players, potential ratings should degrade over time if they're not getting enough experience (ABs/IP). There may be a rare exception here or there (ie Rick Ankiel), but in general the talent/potential ratings should be "use it or lose it"

And I would hope in 17 versions that what is there would work out of the box and not take two months to be fixed. I am not sure what version the inflation mechanic was added. But it seems that teams revenue can not keep up, so the mechanic does not work correctly. |

I assume it's still the case that all leagues play out their full schedules, even with postponements on (that is, all postponed games get made up). This is actually unrealistic, especially for the minors and the earlier years of MLB. I remember it being mentioned all games had to be played because of the financial system.
I assume it's also still the case that OOTP does not do the two-for-one (i.e. single admission) doubleheader. That too was because of the financial system, as I recall. Two fundamental aspects of baseball that make it distinct from other sports yet are not recreated in the game because of financial system limitations. |

Was there ever a consensus on this? I ran into a financial issue in a historical league when moving to 2000. After 20 seasons I’m probably going to have to restart. What’s the best way to set up financials in a historical?

Some of the later patches fixed up/adjusted a lot of the financial related things so you should hopefully not still be running into issues after that. Are you running on the latest patch, 24.11.85?
