I don't know if it's something that necessarily needs data. It should simply be code that is part of the routine when an (in)fielder gets the ball: check to see if there is a runner within x,y of his current coordinates and not on a base.

That's backwards to how the game works

The game generates the results of the play, *and then* creates an animation.

I'm not really concerned about the animation. Even if you're not playing in 3D mode the fielders never tag out a baserunner.

You still appear to be missing the point

There is no

runner within x,y of [a fielder's] current coordinates

There are results of plays
None of the results are tags runner (I'm assuming this is correct, that it doesn't exist).

I maintain the best way to get this added to the game, which I am for, is to present data on how often this occurs in MLB. Then the developers can add it to the current possible plays

Say there's a runner on 1st. The ball is hit to RF. Sometimes have the throw a bit offline when the runner from 1st. goes to 3rd.
Still......LOVE this game.

Pitchers can get player of the week. (I have never seen this myself) You'd think a perfect game should get POTW.

Please please please add callups from the minors and MLB-to-minors demotions to the "Complete Transaction Log". In other words, any changes to an MLB active roster. Limit it to in-season, if possible.

Otherwise in order to determine who's been called up during the season I have to go through each team's transaction log, which is time-consuming.

Pitchers can get PoW. They just have to have two really good outings; one won't do.
I would like the game to name a PoW for the final week, which it skips now, for some reason.

Id also like full histories when starting a new MLB game, IE full team transaction history, being able to see all trades and transactions for a team throughout history.
Being able to see past top 100 prospect list.

That's not really how the game engine works though. While yes, there should probably be more tag plays, the stats engine just tells the 3D engine what the play result is and then the 3D engine generates something based on that. If you include "if x is close to a runner then y" type conditionals, I can all but guarantee you'll wind up with weird-looking (although statistically accurate) results.

Here's a feature that I think would be cool to have, though it might not be worth the effort it would take to program it. I wish each piece of music you hear when you play games out, had a year attached to the file. Not only those that come with the game but a way to add the info to extra files that you add - like some of the really nice ones I've found in the mods section. Then the piece would not play on any game date before what was listed for it. That way when you're playing out a historical season from the 30s, for example, you wouldn't hear rock music blaring from the loudspeakers. Also, is there a way to turn music off during a game, but leave other sounds on? I have tried dropping the music sound option in game from 100 down to 10 (wish there was a 0 option there), but I can't tell it makes any difference to the volume.

Maybe add an analytics budget? Not sure how to incorporate it...

More projection stats... Zips, PECOTA, and whatever else there is... I want ALL OF IT... Every stat that's ever been dreamed up.

If I recall, I believe Markus said that the stadiums would get revamped for 21 so I'm looking forward to that as I play most of my games out now that I'm hooked on the 3-D.
