I'm watching a Minor League game (Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Buffalo Bisons), and have come across something new - 7 inning baseball!

Apparently Minor Leagues can do this when they have doubleheader days, play both at 7 innings rather than 9. The things you learn

(it was quite a surprise in the bottom of the 7th to hear the announcer say that a run would end the game

It might or might not be the most runs scored by one team in the history of professional baseball. Apparently the record is unknown. The MLB record is 30 by the Texas Rangers in 2007 against the Orioles.

Everyone here suspected that when it was announced that he had a "blood disorder," but nobody wanted to say it out loud because we all were praying that it would be something else.

They are saying that it was caught an an early enough stage that the prognosis is good. He is even talking about coming back to pitch this season.

That disease beginning with the letter "c" has touched my family more than once in the last 9 years, and even thinking about it paralyzes me with fear. I know what it's like to wake up with a panic attack...
