The part I've always loved about football is the strategy leading up to and that takes place during the games. How much of this will we be able to set up for the games that we do not coach or call the plays ourselves?
For example, with online leagues, will the GM/Coach be able to set up a gameplan to heavily stop the run at all costs, or key a specific running back or double team a specific WR? Or on offense, create a gameplan around a specific player? Maybe this is incorporated via a practice schedule where the coach highlights various aspects of the game(like discipline or forcing turnovers or tackling). Not that the game won't be great without details this specific(and I realize this is version one), but I'm just curious what kind of strategy options will be available to those who are not calling the plays themselves. Thanks again. |

FC sorry if this has been covered but this thread was on page 3 last time I looked. it is busy in here.
How will the action be covered on the field? Will the players move as the play progresses or will it be like OOTP where we have a ball move, players are stationary til the end of the play? Will the field view be horizontal or vertical? When it is raining or snowing will we be able to see it or will it be like OOTP where it says that it is raining but you just dont see it? What will the stadiums look like? Will we be able to use OOTP parks like Oakland Alameada, Wrigley etc?

Why would want more then 50 teams in real life theirs only couple cities that don't have a NFL Team that should like LA,Orlando,Hawaii,Toronto,London and maybe Putero Rico,Monterrey,Mexico,Anaheim,Boston,Milwaukee and San Antonio.
The GM does Hiring and Firing and Player Transactions. The Owner or somebody else in Front Office does the TV and Radio contracts for team. Build Dome/Stadium feature so like if you wanted to get Pizza Hut or Burgerfi or Cheers Bar and Grill as one of the Food place in it we could. All College Players be able to declare for Draft and allowing a person skip College and go right to NFL like in baseball and hockey but have the option for person not sign with and go to College or own the rights to person but doesn't sign right away meaning the year you drafted them either went to School in USA/Canada or signed with Overseas teams.

Wow I checked out those videos and it looks great. Apparently there will be some sort of roster spot designated for practice squad players? Or was that just there for transaction history?

I am beyond excited for this game and admittedly a tad concerned considering the unfortunate Franchise Hockey Manager. Fingers crossed that it's much, much better than FHM!

As an ex-Football Manager player (well Champ Manager way back in the 90s!) I'm sure someone with the experience Francis has will make this game a great experience.
Can't wait. |

It was mentioned in another post that two leagues could play each other in a championship game.
If I have one league w//12 teams and the other w/20 teams-despite one league having longer playoffs-they still could meet in a championship game? Can those two leagues interact with trades during the regular season? What's the most leagues one World (or Universe ) can handle? |

In that version you got the name of the player if you put your mouse cursor over the circle. Obviously it may be very well different in the BTS one. |

If I have the NFL along with a fictional league(that would play for a championship),that means a fictional league could acquire real players from the NFL. I though fictional leagues could only have fictional players?

That isn't a reason to disallow trades between leagues
![]() Just kidding obviously, but it does bring up a good point about transactions between leagues. In OOTP we can only set "allow FAs to leave league" and "Allow trades with other leagues". It would be nice if there could be more options on that front (maybe not in v.1 though). I'm thinking of 1) allowing us to choose which leagues we allow trades with (eg a fictional English league might allow trades with a Scottish or German league, but not with the NFL) 2) allowing us to set it so teams can buy players from another league but not trade with them. All of these things add complications though (and bring up interesting issues, like what happens if you allow draft pick trading across leagues (since you've mentioned there is only going to be one worldwide draft pool (OOTP needs to do that too!))? Could (and should) an NFL team be able to trade for a pick in the English draft to be able to draft an English player who might not be eligible for the NFL draft? (Obvious answer would be no, but I like bizarre situations like that, as my rules customization idea pdf posted earlier shows lol.) |
