The Blue Jays decided to give Tucker Garland a start to get their rotation back in a five day rest.

That didn't work out at all.

Boston won 13-5, and 11 of those runs were given up in the first 3 innings, while Garland was on the mound.

If the Blue Jays could play the Yankees every day they would be in the World Series.

11-1 today. Jerome Thomson got the only homerun of the day, also collecting 4 RBI.

At one point in the sixth inning Toronto had nine straight batters reach base while there was already two outs. That was a six run inning.

WP - Mark Foster (5-3)

One win away from .500, Toronto sent their hottest pitcher, Ed Whitson, to the mound for game 1 of a double-header against the Orioles.

Whitson did his job but the batters couldn't get it going against Jim Palmer as they fell 3-1, ending their winning streak at 4.

WP - Jim Palmer (4-5)
LP - Ed Whitson (8-2)

Record - 39-41

Thought you'd get to .500 with Whitson on the hill! Interested to see how the second half of the season goes for the Jays!
