I'm honoured to have First Baseman GIL HODGES in my fictional league. He played 2 seasons in AAA managing 26 games at .208 before dropping to AA where he's played 139 games over 3 years at .250.He is now 29 and his national and local popularity is given as unknown.

First season of my fictional solo league, Dallas leads Queens 2 games to 1 in the World Series. Top of the 7th inning, score tied 1-1, Dallas gets the lead off man on, prompting Queens to bring in a new pitcher. Sac bunt moves the runner to second; Queens issues an intentional BB to set up the double play; and the next Dallas batter hits into a fielder's choice at second. With two outs and runners at the corners, the Queens reliever then gives up three consecutive bases-on-balls to give Dallas a 3-1 lead. Dallas went on to win the game 4-3 and then won the next game to take the league's first ever championship.

The reliever's name? Earl Walker.

I figured he'd hit more like .112.

Jose Feliciano is a up and coming star first baseman in my fictional league. I think he just holds up his glove and hopes the ball lands in it...

(for the youngsters in the audience, Jose Feliciano IRL is a blind guitarist, famous for an acoustic version of Light My Fire.)

Heh, I just signed a free agent named Nick Tucker.

I know, really lame. The nick/tuck thing made me smile though.

Third baseman in my leagued named Raleigh Palen.

Change a letter in the last name and it actually sounds completely believable as one of her kids' names....

I had a Player named Mike McCarthy (Head Coach of the GB Packers).

I then renamed him Joseph McCarthy (Former U.S. Senator).

I came across this player a few seasons ago:

"O isn't very smart" - Hey, as long as he can spell his last name, he can play in my league.
