Real Photos

If you are using real player pictures, will it be possible to have a logo of their current team in front of the picture, as it was in 6.5, being in the lower corner somewhat?

That was a problem in '95 and '96, but now it's all Red Sox for me. If the Jays do well, great! If they do well while beating on the Sox then I'm not please at all. I refrain from going to Jays/Sox games.

It's actually easy, the logo will be centered on the front side of the shirt, directly under the neckline, and it will be resized to a width of 140 pixels (at least in our current and probably final version of the shirt). Now, logos on the shirts can cover the complete front side of the shirt, or they are just a button at one side of the chest. Therefore we don't give a height dimension. If your logo is 280 x 200, we'll resize it to 140 x 100, if it's 140 x 400, it will not be resized at all because we resize only to match the 140 pixel width. Then it will be drawn starting under the neckline, and if its too "long", it will just be "cut off" where the picture ends.

Won't we be able to look back on retired players even if they retired 100 yrs ago (in game time)? I thought ALL retired player information was stored in a database forever in your league - or am I misunderstand something? Retired players do not get erased at some point down the road, do they? I certainly hope not.

If the retired players are not erased and I am misunderstanding this whole thing, does their player photos (the facegen generated one(s)) remain with them forever as well?

Just load up on booze and go on a really big bender, and arrange for someone to sober you up next month. If you do it right, no time will appear to pass.

Acutually, it's two clicks. Player Picture->Baseball Card.

For everyone else, Same Picture and New Picture are the other two options on that menu. Same Picture regenerates the player's photo with the same facial values, changing only the facing and background. New Picture generates an entirely new face.

I believe somebody has asked something similar to this already...but I could not find the answer to it.

When, if at all, does Facegen stop aging the players?? Retirement?

What if they become a manager? Is there a different 'manager profile' or 'entity' which is treated and aged seperately? Do the 2 'entities' relate to each other?

What about a player that gets to the HoF as a player, but then become a manager? If seperate 'entities' exist for players who become managers, with no relation, is it possible I could have a HoF player, who becomes a HoF manager with 2 entries in the HoF?

Is any of this criteria selectable??

Dont mean to sound demanding...just wanting to understand how it will function better.

Thanks, Andreas. So if I have a 280x200 logo should I center whatever text I want within the 280 and at the top of the 200 or in the middle of the 200? Will the neckline (even if/when its adjusted) still dip into the 200?

Sorry I'm such a pain... I tend to be a bit of an obsessive person... and I'd like to know.

Well, your first post that I linked to sounded like you were speaking of yourself. I am glad to hear that she is (also?) a Sox fan. You see, the only lingering doubt that I have is this: Were you indeed referring to yourself in that post, and are you actually the Yankees fan, and is your wife forcing you to use the Boston avatar and root for the Red Sox? I don't know you and to me this is still a possibility from what you have posted on the subject. If true, you have my sympathy. Of course, feel free to tell me to mind my own business, followed by:
I think a lot of baseball fans love to hate the Yanks, just like a lot of racing folks love to hate Jeff Gordon. The only reason, they are both so darned good!! There's noting like good 'ole compatition. I don't dislike the Yanks, I just love to see a good ballgame.

A lot of people hate the Yanks just because of their owner.
