We're climbing them rankings baby. Savon and Rampage should have world title shots in a month or two yep. Going up 420 something spots in the rankings ain't nothing.

Calzaghe and UKBG...
No mandatory for Calzaghe.
However, EHBA Champion Vitali Klitschko, has offered Calzaghe and UKBG the first opportunity to sign a contract to be his opponent for a mandatory title defense. Both title would be on the line as both can be held at the same time.

Morales and VBG...
Did we ever figure out what type of opponent Morales and VBG is looking for? I know you said maybe a tune up fight until you can land a title shot, but are you looking for somebody close to your rankings or a CABO opponent, or MBF opponent?

Bad start to the new year for 3K Battery...
Samson 3K Battery, Thailand, 4-0-0 (4) vs Pongsaklek Wongjongkam, Thailand, 1-1-0
Open Air Stadium, Thailand. 3K Battery starts the fight off strong taking the 1st round, 18-9. The 2nd round starts off with both men exchanging flurries but Pong is getting the best of Battery and lands a huge uppercut that puts Battery down for good. A shocker of an upset to start off the new year! Winner: Wongjongkam Result: (KO2) Cards: 10-9, on all three cards in favor of Battery Punch stats: 72-145, 49.7% Wongjongkam - 48-67, 71.6% Battery |

Bugner's terrible luck continues...
Joe Bugner, UK, 17-4-0 (14) vs Mircea Simon, Romania, 11-4-0 (7)
London Arena, London, England, United Kingdom. Bugner lands a nice shot that opens up a cut on Simon here in the opening round. 18-2, Bugner in the 2nd round. Bugner is showing good movement and wins the 3rd, 11-5. An uppercut puts Simon down in the 4th and Bugner takes the round easily, 26-4. Simon responds with a big 5th, 19-0. A wild 6th, 14-10, Bugner. 16-9, Simon in the 8th. 16-6, Bugner wins the 9th with effective punching. Simon hurts Bugner in the 10th, 11-5. Bugner seems to be snake-bitten and is the unluckiest fighter in the world (sorry Juggernaut Promotions), because referee Kenny Bayless disqualifies Bugner for what he deems is intentional low blows. Not even a warning, and Bugner loses another fight, like the Haye fight, that he was clearly winning. Winner: Simon Result: (DQ11) Cards: 96-93, 96-93, 98-91, all three cards in favor of Bugner Punch stats: 227-580, 39.1% Bugner - 179-791, 22.6% Simon |

Savon wins an exciting fight by KO14...
Felix Savon, Cuba, 13-1-0 (11) vs Fres Oquendo, Puerto Rico, 14-3-0 (9)
Cristal Arena, Havana, Cuba. A combination of punches puts Oquendo down with over half the round remaining here in the 1st. Oquendo does a good job to survive the round and makes it to the corner, 16-5, Savon. Oquendo returns the favor and drops Savon with a nice combination in the 2nd. Savon gets up at the count of nine. 12-3, in favor of Fast Fres in the 2nd. 14-11, in favor of Savon here in the 3rd round of a potential FOY candidate. Savon dominates the 4th, 19-5. The momentum stays with the hometown fighter, as Savon shows tremendous punching accuracy, 24-8, in the 5th. Oquendo wakes up in the 6th, 13-3. Fres is trapped in the corner and has a tough time in the 7th. The 8th is too close to call as both fighters land on the inside. An accidental head-butt causes a cut over the left eye of Savon at the beginning of the 9th. Oquendo seems to have gained some confidence after seeing the blood from Savon and has hurt him in two out of the last three rounds. Oquendo may be closing the gap in the scorecards. Savon opens up in the 11th and hurts Oquendo. Oquendo has some swelling around his left eye. Both fighters are fatigued but Savon has taken the 12th and 13th. Savon puts Oquendo down three times in the 14th, the last one from a beautiful uppercut that ends the fight. Winner: Savon Result: (KO14) Cards: 125-121, 124-121, 125-121, all three cards in favor of Savon Punch stats: 192-711, 27% Oquendo - 390-1053, 37% Savon |
