I've been away from these boards for a long time. I just downloaded the newest patch for the game and have been waiting for these rosters to be released before actually starting to play this game. Can someone give me a quick rundown of what these rosters contain? It sounds like they are incomplete, with references of Cubby not finishing AA yet. This is not encouraging, to say the least. I was really hoping for one mega, fully-functional release. Also, if I download what Cubby offers now, how do I go about installing his rosters and playing?

Mahalo.

AA won't be done for another few weeks. I would suggest that I'll stop, and you can finish them up for me in a few days, so that everyone has something to play. IM me and I'll give you the details about how to re-rate players in line with the stats in the current set.

Is everyone really playing with the default field photo? Or are people just not playing?!?!?

Mike,

I'm using Bogart's stadiums. You'll find these in the file Bogart_Stadiums_2006.zip at ootpmodsquad.com. For me, these are the best I've come across.

Cubby, keep up the good work. I've enjoyed your beta releases so far and know the quality of your final product will be superb. Besides, I'm not going to start a serious modern day league until the final patch anyway. I'm sticking to historicals and international right now.

Thanks Ian. Does this include the new Busch Stadium?

Is there a reason why the HTML screens looks so "weird"?

I don't mean to disrespect you, Cubby. I appreciate the effort that goes into making something like this, but you've got to understand that some of our patience is wearing thin. I mean I've had this game for two months now (?) and I haven't even begun to play it yet. I had always wished you would have just waited for one final release so it wouldn't pose the dilemma of starting a season with this beta release or waiting for the final product, because it is a tough one.

For some reason the styles.css file was messed up in the old version. I replaced it and everything seems to be looking fine.

If I would have waited for one final release, then you wouldn't have had any sort of roster file for four months.

I'm not joking, let me know your AIM, and I'll send you the file and you can finish it up for me soon since your patience is wearing thin. Works for me, work for you?

Most people were assuming a roster file would be out, like every other year, and didn't see a point in starting their own. I understand where these people are coming from; hindsight is 20/20.

Good luck finishing up.

You guys have to keep in mind this is a new game. It is not the same old system as the old OOTPs, they needed to completely restructure the information to input. I understand the want for a roster set, but if anyone else can input 3000 players accurately, not to mention ballpark factors and personnel, faster than Cubby/Rolen have - why haven't you done it yourself? I love what has been so far. Keep up the good work, guys.

Yes but remember Cubby & Rolen are doing this for FREE!! Constently complaining about it not being out isn't going to make it come out any faster.

If people think its so easy to put out a set then let them do it themself.

The "do it yourself" comments don't carry much weight and are really irrevelant to this type of discussion. People were told very early on that a roster set was to be completed by day x and then day y and so on. Not trying to debate who is right and who is wrong or whatever (it's a roster file for a video game lol) but those are the facts. I truly believe no one started a roster file because, as far as most people were concerned, it was being taken care of.

Now does that stop anyone from starting one today? No. But we have a terrific roster that is going to be released in a few weeks. And the cycle continues.

I too, have been away from the game and boards for a while. I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to leave, rather than having to work on the roster set myself. Thanx Cubby/Rolen.

Haha between this thread and the whole thing with the NCAA 07 PS2 rosters I wonder why people do rosters at all.

I think the frusteration from some came from the fact that many on the board (including people who work for SI) had said there would be roster sets available shortly after launch. That accompanied with the fact that Rolen/Cubby kept most of the information on where they were a secret didn't help either.

All in all it ended up stopping a lot of people from making roster sets this year.

Huh?

I didn't keep it hidden at all. Nothing was stopping ANYONE from making a roster set, I had the game two days before you guys.

This is most likely my last year at this, I cannot stand having something that I love doing turned into a labor. They will be released when they are released, and that will be the last update until you see them out.
