Considering how awesomly the Angels have sucked so far; and that they are only 3 games out; maybe we can get our 3 straight title. If only some of our young hitters can come through. In football I have a silver and black heart though.

Houston lands one of the guys I think could have helped Oakland, Aubrey Huff. All it took was a couple minor leaguers and they got Huff AND 1.6M! I would have dealt a couple AA'ers for him.

I think Kotsay is more banged up than anybody knows. He could just be on a steady career decline, in which case it would be a good idea for Beane to try to move him this offseason before he gets any worse. Also - is there a fan base more angry with a first-place team than this one? As someone who isn't a long-time A's fan (and also someone who doesn't know a lot of A's fans), this is a little bit funny to me. I've got Cubs fans around town thinking the playoffs are a manager firing away and A's fans thinking the sky has fallen and crushed the green and gold. |

I'm not worried about making the playoffs, and once there all bets are off anyway. |

dola,
What I meant by that is: Macha actually got a lineup right for once. Kendall hits lefties well, and leadoff = not many GIDP chances. Kielty - .934 OPS vs lefties Kotsay/Crosby moved down till they stop making auto-outs Chavez sitting to rest his arms. I mean.. Wow... good job for once, Macha.

trola,
I don't think it matters. Loaiza is going to be hard pressed to keep Boston from scoring in double digits. In the first inning.

Edit: Frank Thomas should be the #3 hitter on this team. Unless his lack of speed somehow plays a factor here, there's just no excuse for it. Last edited by JDOldSchool; 07-13-2006 at 08:17 PM. |

dola,
Watching this game on ESPN2 is absolutely intolerable. I'd actually rather hear the Red Sox announcers. |
