The Megaverse is the most critical universe in my game but now I get these messages...

The required file 'division'.dat could not be opened in Cocuments and Settings\John\My Documents\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5\Saved Games\Megaverse

Does anybody know what's happeningb and what I can do about it? Without my Megaverse I can't operate.

Sounds like a file has has been corrupted. You should be able to fix the problem.
If you go to the Settings\John\My Documents\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5\Saved Games\Megaverse and open the file you'll see a number of folders and dat files. There should be about 10 folders labeled backup with various dates. These contained earlier copies of the dat files. If you select one of these earlier backup files you can either cut and paste the dat files from the earlier version writing over the ones that don't work, or just cut and past an earlier division dat file rewriting the one that failed. You may loose some of your most recent work but should get going.

My main computer is in the shop. The computer I'm using now is infected but I found, to my surprise, that I could still get on the internet by an indirect route and post on this forum which I couldn't do on the other computer. Unfortunately, when I get my main computer back, they may have decided to wipe my system (I told them to do so if they had to) and I'm likely to lose my TBCB program which I will then have to reinstall. So I am going to be out of circulation for a while. Hope to be back up and running in a week or two. Note to Bear: The fighter.dat file is too big for my server to send to you. I also don't get e-mail on this PC that I'm now using.

John the important thing is to have saved the 17 backup dat files.

Just last night I had had the Title bout exe program stop in the middle of saving data. When I opened the game I got the same error messages that you received. I replaced the dat files that didn't save properly with those from the backup for the universe. Recovered everything and only lost a half hour of work.

I have been building a modern UNI in which I am trying to get the top 50 rated fighters in each weight class. So far I am chugging along really well. Building some fighters on my own and getting ones from the forums.

Not asking anyone to do this but here is a list of fighters I still need.... eventually once I get through straweight I will go back and do the missing fighters w/ pictures. Right now I am up to Jr. Lightweight and this is what I am still missing.

As I feared, my TBCB 2.5 game has vanished from my PC after I had it fixed. I had a program thinking it was TBCB 2.5 and installed it but discovered to my surprise that it was only version 2 which is entirely useless. I sent an e-mail to Andreas asking for advice. Until then I'm out of action.

With the games saved you should be fine, John. You'll have to move the .dat files as I suggested earlier. I'll try to find some screen shots that illustrate how to do it or create my own. I'll give you a call this weekend and try to walk you though the process again. Saturday's a work day for me, so I'd likely call on Sunday.

I know someone posted screen shots of the process over a year ago. I'll have to do a thread search.
