Man, anybody living near SAL needs to go by his house and give the man a guy and keep him from putting his head in the oven. Tough break for the Huskers if that guy can just hold on to the ball and not fumble you got that game in the bag.

Argh!!!!!!!
Great effort by my Big Red against the defending national champs. That kind really hurts, though. Hang in there, Scot. Maybe we'll get a rematch ...

Hang in there............
You too Mark. The Nunn fumble and special teams killed our team today. Hopefully we will meet them again for the Big 12 title. If Nebraska makes it to the title game, I'm there.

Busy trade/FA wire this round and it looks like Jbergy is trying to take Chris's title as the most active owner in the league.

You know I like what Jbergy is doing right now, by dropping his point cap so much he's probably locked up the 3rd pick in the draft and if he wants he'll get first shot at Max Schmeling who will be a huge boost right off the bat.

I'll post the new draft pool in the draft thread as soon as I rearrange the rosters in the utba database on my PC. It will be later tonight or early morning. |

This draft will be heavy in talent(2-13's, 2-11's, 6-10's and 17-9's). Everyone needs to enjoy it because it will be a long time before the UTBA sees this much talent in a draft pool again. And the numbers you see are not including the Gatitos fighters.

Holy sweet baby jesus thats insane I knew that there would be 2 11s but 2 13s damn. Jbergy's move looks even better now if he ends up with one of those 13s. Man I was thinking of trying to trade up in the draft to make sure I landed a certain fighter but now I'm thinking I don't got to worry.

Hey, you picked the right time to rebuilt with as you said the class of 83 coming in. This might end up being the greatest draft in UTBA history.

The tricky thing about UTBA is, that a 13 rated fighter pretty much has to be 18-2 with 16 kos to be worth his value with our tricky cap. A 3 rated fighter that can finish 9-11 with 5 kos is as valuable as a 13 rated fighter that goes 16-4 12 kos

Well considering that we have 10 rated fighters going undefeated with all KOs I think a 13 should be worth it as long as he has some HP to score the KOs with.

Editted and moved to UTBA Draft thread where it would be better suited.

Draft Pool Announcement
The Draft Pool on page one of the UTBA Draft thread has been updated. It now contains all of the fighters that will be available for the draft at the conclusion of season 2.
You will note that some of the fighters came from the Jr. weight classes. All that was changed was their weight classification. None of the ratings were affected. Also new this year, after the draft is complete, you'll have a new option on how to get your team cap at or below 105. The F/A Wire will re-open after the draft with the new waiver rank posted on page one of the UTBA Draft thread. Between the end of the draft and before season 3 begins, you will be allowed only 1 waiver transaction at a time. If you are awarded a free agent, your waiver rank will move to the bottom. (You can still send me a list of 3 if you would like) You will still have the option of just simply cutting three boxers to reach the cap limit like last season or go the trading route. Current Cap Points Bears Unstable (95) 10 points below the cap Bonner Springs Bald Beavers (105) Boxing Kangaroos (105) Brazilian Barbarians (104) 1 point below the cap Cawkney Crusaders (104) 1 point below the cap Hebron Haymakers (104) 1 point below the cap Iceteaboxing (105) Juggernaut (105) MexiVilles (105) Muckboys (105) Oakland Assassins (95) 10 points below the cap The Nobodies (104) 1 point below the cap Tile Hill Top Team (103) 2 points below the cap Tomato City (105) Undisputed Champions (98) 7 points below the cap Last edited by SAL; 10-22-2006 at 01:38 AM. |

Whew, with all of this high rated talent, this should be a great draft. I see only the teams w/ a lot of cap room being able to go after the big guns.
IMO there seems to be 2 schools of thought regarding the teams at or near the cap now: 1. Sign a high rated fighter and then clear out a couple of mid-range guys to make up the cap space - welcoming a couple of 1 or 2 rated TC's onto your team ... or 2. Make a modest improvement by dumping an underperforming 7,8,9 fighter and replacing him w/ a slightly better one. Counterbalance the cap by looking for value in the lower 4,5,6 range and hope that you don't lose to much with the lower rated guy. I seem to prefer to have some sort of balance among the weight classes and hope to get at least 1 guy per weight class into the EOY tournaments. (Obviously, my team is not steamrolling towards the end of the season - 0-2 the last two rounds, so what the hell do I know) |

Yeah I don't have any picks this year until the 3rd round. My plan is to go with the guys I've got, hoping to get them to prime next year.
