If nobody has a problem, we'll stick with the 10 round format for a season and we'll schedule 4 matches in your own division, 5 against the other division in your Conf. and one intra-league team match. The intra-league will be scheduled off of last seasons team performance. Last place in the Gold will face last place in the Silver.........and so on.

Seeing that nobody really had a problem of letting me manage a team in the league, I'll take one of the expansion slots.

Team name will be McCune Mitt Slingers fighting out of Joplin Memorial Hall, Joplin, MO.

I'll let you guys decide on which division to place my team in.
Nice to see you joining the ranks of the owners, allow me to be the first of my fellow West division owners to extend a invitation to join our elite division. It'll be a rough road and y'all will take some serious whippings but at least you would know that if you ever win anything you'll be beating the best.

Season 2: ROY Candidates

Gold Conference

Barring any surprises in Round 10, there appear to be only 6 legitimate candidates in the Gold Conference (half of which come from the expansion Bear's Unstable)

BW - Lupe Pintor 15-3-0 (8) - 38 PTS (Tomato City)
BW - Jose Becerra 13-4-1 (9) - 36 PTS (Bear's Unstable)
LHW - Jimmy Adamick 12-6-0 (9) - 33 PTS (Bear's Unstable)
WW - Cocoa Kid 14-4-0 (3) - 31 PTS (Brazilian Barbarians)
FLY - Sot Chitalada 12-5-1 (3) *1DQ* - 27 PTS (Bear's Unstable)
HW - Jerry Quarry 8-4-0 (8) - 24 PTS (Muckboys)

Silver Confernce

Many more legitimate candidates out in the Silver Conference. Front-runners seem to be G. Carpentier and F. Mayweather Sr. with the most rookie victories or one of the two rookie Champions. One more round to make a choice.

LHW - Georges Carpentier 13-4-1 (8) - 35 PTS (Hebron Haymakers)
WW - Floyd Mayweather Sr. 13-5-0 (9) - 35 PTS (Juggernaut)
WW - CH-King Tut 11-7-0 (10) - 32 PTS (The Nobodies)
FLY - Jorge Arce 11-7-0 (10) *1DQ* - 31 PTS (MexiVilles)
FW - Diego Morales 12-6-0 (6) - 30 PTS (Juggernaut)

LHW - Jeff Harding 10-7-1 (8) - 29 PTS (Oakland Assassins)
MW - Charles McCoy 10-7-1 (8) - 29 PTS (Undisputed Champions)

Those three guys have been pretty much the heart of my team this season. Other than our win last time out not much to cheer about.

Season 2: MVP Candidates

Gold Conference

By using all fighters w/ 2 or less losses as a starting point, the Gold Conference has 11 possible candidates. But since there are still 4 still standing undefeated, the 5 fighters w/ 2 losses will not be officially listed (M. Schmeling, D. Michalczewski, L. Honeyghan, D. Charnley, J. Fenech).
That leaves six...

LHW - Bob Foster 18-0-0 (18) - 54 PTS (Brazilian Barbarians) [32-1-1 (32)]

MW - CH-Mickey Walker 18-0-0 (17) - 53 PTS (Bonner Springs Bald Beavers) [38-0-0 (32)]

LW - Edwin Rosario 18-0-0 (16) - 52 PTS (Muckboys) [29-5-0 (24)]

MW - Carmen Basilio 17-0-1 (10) - 45 PTS (Bonner Springs Bald Beavers) [32-2-1 (19)]

LW - Freddie Welsh 17-1-0 (5) - 39 PTS (Tile Hill Top Team) [28-4-1 (5)]

FW - Young Griffo 17-1-0 (2) - 36 PTS (Boxing Kangaroos) [32-2-3 (4) *1DQ*]

Silver Conference

In the Silver Conference, no fighter remains unbeaten - but among the 6 legitimate candidates are 2 dominant champions...

BW - CH-Alfonso Zamora 15-1-2 (12) - 44 PTS (Hebron Haymakers) [29-3-3 (18)]

LW - CH-Alexis Arguello 16-2-0 (12) - 44 PTS (MexiVilles) [27-6-0 (19)]

MW - Tony Zale 16-2-0 (10) - 42 PTS (Juggernaut) [28-5-1 (22)]

HW - Peter Jackson 15-2-1 (6) - 37 PTS (IceTeaBoxing) [35-2-1 (13)]

LW - Carlos Ortiz 15-2-1 (4) - 35 PTS (The Nobodies) [27-5-3 (7)]

MW - Ken Overlin 15-2-1 (3) - 34 PTS (Hebron Haymakers) [28-4-5 (6)]

I might also add that Georges Carpentier and Jeff Harding are ex-champions as well. They both held the LHW Title for a brief time.

To do some early campagining for my guy. I'd like to point that on that list Rosario is the only one to hold a victory over another MVP candidate with his 10th round KO victory over Freddie Welsh. While also knocking out every single Lightweight on Romultiltus's rankings for the divison.

Utba Draft Schedule proposal

In an attempt to have all of the managers on-line at the same time during the draft, here is a pilot schedule for drafting times. If I did my math right, this is a list of time comparisons for all the managers in the league. This will only be a guideline to work from.
See what you think........any suggestions.

Melbourne, Australia 8 am Sunday morning =
London, England....................11 pm Saturday night
Hartford, CT/Louisville, KY........6 pm Saturday evening
Chicago,IL/Kansas City, MO.........5 pm Saturday evening
Phoenix, AZ........................3 pm Saturday afternoon

or

Melbourne, Australia 2 am Sunday morning =
London, England....................5 pm Saturday evening
Hartford, CT/Louisville, KY........12 noon Saturday
Chicago,IL/Kansas City, MO.........11 am Saturday morning
Phoenix, AZ........................9 am Saturday morning

If we can get everybody on-line together, we could set a 1 to 10 minute time limit between picks and it would be possible to finish the draft in 2 hours or less.

The Trade and Free Agent Wire will close in 15 Hours..............

Reminder...........this will be the last time any F/A transactions will be allowed until after the draft. The trading wire will remain open throughout the remainder of the season and during the draft. The only period the trading wire will be shut down is during Rd 10 action and while the tournaments are in progress.

I'll be around all day Sat and Sun so I shouldn't have any problems being around for the draft. Looking at that schedule the only person who would have any problems would be KC with the 8 or 2 am start times if he hasn't got a problem with those times there really shouldn't be any problems.

The McCune Mitt Slingers would like to thank you for the invite to join the West. If you can get approval from the other league managers, I'll gladly place my team in the West and look forward to stomping the Muckboys into the Florida muck in my second season.

Shane had mentioned to me that USA am times would work good for him. I was just trying a few different ways to get everybody thinking what would work good for them. The time I posted are just examples.

Pfft, guy you won't be getting with 30 of the Muckboys until at least your third year and that'll only be because by then we might feel abit sorry for the beatings we've layed on you. So this is my plead to the other owners to vote the Mitt Catchers into the West so that the Barbarians, Kangroos, Tomato City, and ourselves can properly introduce the SAL's boys into the UTBA by ripping out their hearts and crushing their souls.

Man, I feel sorry for the expansion teams that end up in the West and South there are going to be some dirty beatings handed out this year. Also, the North should be doing backflips as we won't be able to make fun of them as the worse division anymore since the addition of two expansion teams into the East are going to kill it's quailty.

If this is next Saturday I am gone, but it doesn't matter because I don't have a pick in the first two rounds and I am officially passing my third round pick right now.

The draft can be anytime. Nothing has been set yet. I just posted some times to feel everybody out(not up). I'll finish Rd 10 this weekend and then we have the year end tournaments before the draft can even start.

Don't forget, when the season is over, Romultiltus will be posting ballots for the EOY awards so please take time to cast your votes.
